As long as you kept it pinned it will make it every time me and grandfather used to cross open water to get to the gas station and not have to run our sleds on the rd and ruin the skis. So that was our excuse anyway 😂 great memories rest easy gramp thanks for showing me what having fun really ment🤘🏻
@@ianlarue4985 I thought the decal said 550 too til I rewatched and listened to it. Definitely a 650 triple, but you don't have to be a whiny prick about it.
What fun? Did plenty of this in my younger years, even taking small jumps and landing in the water and still making it and not making it sometimes, broke a belt midair, she sank, got water inside on the clutch, she sank. We would dry them out and get the water out of the engine and resume, However the cables and small parts eventually rust and then there is problems and repair but its still good fun. I did this on many machines but the old indy xlt 580 triple did well but eventually it seized from all the abuse. Mountain machines are more forgiving in the water then the old style tracks. People were going double on the mountain tracks, once she starts the bouncing it is almost over ...LOL lthat indy 650 triple that sunk right on the edge of suiccess, LOL The cold water really makes you feel alive!!!
We used to pond skip the trailfires/liquifire years ago. Somehow the belt always got wet and slipped. The old mid engine deere tho, the x00 series. Skipped very well!
I don't understand what's so special about this??? Especially with a long track, u could idle across. Go to RTE 12 in foxlake, IL it's a half a mile long people do it all the time
Until the Rev style came out, I thought the late 80s to early 2000s Polaris were the ugliest sleds I'd ever seen now I'm torn on which is uglier? I guess not only are the Polaris ugly but you'd have more fun riding a camel or horse than an old indy. Guess that's one thing the newer sleds have

Those old Indys were beasts in their day. Love the SXR too. I've owned both.
My friend has a Indy
That yammy triple...no better sound on the snow..
Ever
Agreed. The sxr was my favorite
No doubt...Hahaha

@@Will-ph4te He made a mistake. Get over yourself jackass
the sxr tho
guy on the 650 wedge just there to have a good time
The poor JD never stood a chance
Skipping a 30 foot puddle with 151" track and 2" paddles isn't the hardest thing in the world.
and an 850 cc engine.
My 2003 zx Renegade was like a boat
this was a awesome video
The new sleds make easy work of the water but the old sleds have a hard time of it.
repetitivemotion all the older sleds ive seen have really small paddles, the power probably doesnt help too much
Those dragons are noice noice
I would love to have video of my 1980 250 inticer over water.
That was a great little sled.
3:00 that foam seat is probably still wet

Ones with the loud pipes sound good
2:05 Best one XD
Nothing beyond 1990 and over a 500 should of been allowed. Them were the days
Yep with all the post-1990's sleds I just saw the same thing crossing that puddle over and over again. BOOOORIIING!
came for the JD trailfire I saw in the thumbnail.

get the extra ice out of the hole. and seems like no one wants to go a little slower. if they did they might actually hook up and get the skis up.
I know right? I don't understand what was so special about this
if the JD had a long track and a bit bigger paddles it would of made it
Good job Justin!
The old snow slides sink
5:02 Little POA!!!!
Nothing sinks like a deer
My dad always says if you want to go water skipping you have to just gun it
just gun it and lean back. it'll work.
why is every one naied wide open? lol
R Stead they don’t wanna ruin there sled
Where is that

you know its bad when an sxr makes it and you dont
that sxr was a nice sled.
it was, i own one as well and know they are not the best on water.
I love you mom and dad and sisters and brother and my family I love you too

Pol-boy , go take your meds.
What kind of sordid fun is 'skimming' in 3' of water?
Do a 1,000' run over a 125' deep lake, where the penalty of failure is real!
This is the absolute lamest waterskipp I've ever seen sorry just being honest
my mom is name Chantel my dad is name Lawrence my sister is name Camille my name is chavanna
