I lost a few sleds doing this good times and yes a very sick video an XCR 800 is the most powerful triple I've ever had the privilege to drive. That and a Mach Z 800 triple are So Powerful but very high maintenance motor's but I'm a Very Confident Self Taught Mechanic
Actually, we did have a cop visit us when we landed a the helicopter on a beach basically in the middle of town. He said he came over because he saw a truck half on the beach and half on the ice (unloading the sleds) ...then he saw a helicopter land. When we described what we were doing he thought it was pretty cool and just left us alone.
@thundershots....It's a band call Flud. Can't remember the exact track. The were a local Barrie Ontario band from the late 90's and sadly are no longer together. One of the riders in the video is a good friend of one the the band members, Jamie and they allowed us to use there tracks for the DVD. Jamie also designed the cover art for the DVD. They were a wicked band.
Well....This is great video... !!! All family and friends love it . Quebec snowmobile in the snow...the best... On water...its you !...LOL Have a great day all !!
These are triple 800 polaris sleds, capable os up to 120 miles per hour on radar,i wouldnt attemp this on a sled that didnt have the power to do a hundred even tho they do slow down to 40 or 50 at times, you need the acceleration ,its go-home bay area 1
snowmobiles have a scooped belt that gives it propultion and if at high enough speeds it scoops the water up and gives it enough propution to keep above the water. However if ou dont maintain speed you will sink.
fountainfan Sick video seen this when I was in high school! Should do another with better cameras if there still riding! You guys are awesome and make Ontario proud #sudburybornandraised
Nothing like that year on Georgian bay still have 3 feet of black ice!! They have sent 2 ice breakers to break up the harbour but both stopped in there tracks out by hope island!! 2019!!
I've only just closed my mouth after picking my jaw off the floor. I was convinced it was fake, till that guy sank! Speechless Think I will stick to my Jetski
one of if the not the coolest video ever...love the northern star. I think I remember that Name The Sleds in this video will go down in Polaris history.
We had some guys run a little water up here in Sudbury last year and the cops got their cab numbers and ended up charging them with careless or something. Any heat from the po po down there?
Yeah he got his sled back, and got it to start up. I have this on video. They go from Midland, Ont to Sans Souci, Ont which is about a 30-40min boat ride from my house on Georgian Bay.
did you work for dennis reubotie(sp?)? I have a place in go home. high rock bay, worked up there every summer of my life, (odd jobs and such.) small world.
I produced this video. It was shot in Midland Ontario Canada April 1st 2006. The full April Fools Vol. 2 DVD can be purchased in my online store at: shopmidland(dot)com/thomaswillard $14.99 CDN + Shipping
Depends on the size of paddles on your sled, a summit with 2inch lugs can go 20mph and stay a float, my 800mxz with 1.25 is...well i wouldnt go less than 40 but i've started from a dead stop on the edge of the ice...
pull the plugs and muffler, turn it over a bunch of times till all the water is out, replace fluids, start. You can slow right down to almost nothing and still be able to save it.
11 years old and still one of the coolest videos on UA-cam.
Correction is coolest
14 years now also this video was made before i was born
I lost a few sleds doing this good times and yes a very sick video an

snowmobiles have a scooped belt that gives it propultion and if at high enough speeds it scoops the water up and gives it enough propution to keep above the water. However if ou dont maintain speed you will sink.

Great Video you guys did it first 🇨🇦
Sick! I drive sleds and helicopters... Coolest combo I have seen in a while. Let me know if you need a pilot for upcoming shoots!
Damn, wish I had been in town to see this when it happened.
2007 is the year I moved out of Midland to go to school.
Still have family there.
How long did u guys go on the river
Awesome video. I knew it was Ontario. Looked like the Winnipeg river system to me Makes my riding in a ditch full of water look pretty minuscule lol
The ending to this video is so badass
awsome!! let me know if u need any more ridders
We had some guys run a little water up here in Sudbury last year and the cops got their cab numbers and ended up charging them with careless or something.
Any heat from the po po down there?
if your engine stutters, or you get an air bubble in your gas line you sink, anything but full rev will make you lose momentum and sink to the bottom.
Best APRIL FOOLS EVER!!!!
great video. it still rocks. 👍 whats the name of the song? 🤗
Here for my annual April fool's viewing.
sickk vid man i got it on dvd its insane :P
I just water crossed for my first time on a 1989 indy 650 and im 12
Yeah he got his sled back, and got it to start up. I have this on video. They go from Midland, Ont to Sans Souci, Ont which is about a 30-40min boat ride from my house on Georgian Bay.
did you work for dennis reubotie(sp?)? I have a place in go home. high rock bay, worked up there every summer of my life, (odd jobs and such.) small world.

How fast do these Icelandic suvs have to be going to cross hundreds of meters of open water?
Hey thanks!...We have proposed the idea of having two helicopters for multiple angles. Are you located in the relative area? Midland Ontario Canada??
Where can you get the full video???
best water skipping ive ever seen
Nice Video! what is the Name of this song? Does anyone know exactly how fast you have to go to do this? is it like ~45 mph?
how fast do u have to go in order to do this? and what do u do if u sink ur sled?
about how fast were you going?
Depends on the size of paddles on your sled, a summit with 2inch lugs can go 20mph and stay a float, my 800mxz with 1.25 is...well i wouldnt go less than 40 but i've started from a dead stop on the edge of the ice...
are they on water or ice?
That's better than the Mactier puddle jump!!
whats the song being plaayed?
Whats the song?
whos tune is this?
Nope just some really fast sleds, I know a few folks who have lost sleds this way. Truly impressive.
how well do you think a 121" 600 XC SP would handle this
Bet u can't do that in reverse
This has got to be the record but I guess it doesn't count because they go over little sheets of ice. Still THE BEST
what song is this?
pull the plugs and muffler, turn it over a bunch of times till all the water is out, replace fluids, start. You can slow right down to almost nothing and still be able to save it.
You remember where it went down. When the weather is warmer you bring a big boat, a winch and go diving.....
Who's the band in this vid?
Flud small band from Barrie Ontario that are no longer togther
@TheSimpleFighters it was april first that they did this run
the only reason why the first guy went down is because he seized one of his pistons because he leaned out one of the carbs that day
aye well my prox800 just loves water crossing just does it so easily tie a rubber band around the throttle and call it cruise controll lol
Who needs a personal watercraft.
Epic!!!
