- Why I, as an atheist, can't vote for Donald Trump
Hemant Mehta (www.friendlyath..., / hemant , / friendlyatheist )
I would love to tell you all how to vote in the upcoming election, but I know that if I suggest anything, even with plenty of reasons behind it, people will push back.
"How dare you tell me to do anything? You're not the atheist pope!"
Okay. Fine. In that case, let me just lay out for you why I, as an atheist who cares about issues related to atheism, cannot possibly vote for Donald Trump. Despite what some other UA-camrs may tell you...
I care about science. I don't want someone in the White House who denies climate change. Or thinks it's a hoax perpetrated by the Chinese.
I don't want a Vice President who denied climate change for so long.
I don't want a Vice President who doesn't accept evolution.
I don't want a President who couldn't even explain evolution.
I don't want a President who believes the conspiracy that vaccines cause autism and used his charity to give Jenny McCarthy's anti-vaccination group a $10,000 donation.
I care about church/state separation. I don't want a President who believes the Religious Right is persecuted, as if Christians are the ones who really have it hard in the U.S.
I don't want someone who threatens to repeal the Johnson Amendment, which prevents churches from endorsing candidates from the pulpit while keeping their tax-exempt status.
I don't want someone who thinks all Muslims are in cahoots with the terrorists and wants to take away their civil liberties.
I don't want someone who thinks forcing employees to say "Merry Christmas" instead of "Happy holidays" will solve more problems than it creates.
I don't want someone who thinks there really is a War on Christmas.
I don't want someone whose proposed Supreme Court nominees are hell-bent on merging Christianity with the government.
As an atheist, I care about LGBT rights, because they're directly threatened by conservative Christians. And Trump wants to put those Christians in positions of power so they can undo any progress we've made over the past decade.
I don't want someone who still, in 2016, opposes marriage equality. And Trump does, no matter how much he thinks he's a friend to the gay community.
I don't want a President to tell trans people where they can and can't go to the bathroom.
I don't want a Vice President best known for telling Christian business owners they have a special right to discriminate against gay customers, which he did in Indiana.
Or a President who thinks Kim Davis had every right to deny a gay couple their marriage license in her Kentucky county.
I care about women's rights, since it's usually conservative Christians who oppose them. And I don't want a President who thinks women who have abortions deserve to be punished.
I don't want a President who wants to defund Planned Parenthood because they offer abortion services in addition to all the other amazing things they also do.
I don't want a President who can't tell fact from fiction, who seems to believe anything you tell him. If I wanted to hear people whose best evidence for their beliefs was "Some people have said," then I'd go to church.
Now, maybe you're hearing all this and rolling your eyes. You're saying, "Yeah, Trump is bad, but you're not giving me any reasons to vote for Hillary Clinton."
Well, here it is: She isn't perfect, but she's on the right side of every single one of those issues I just mentioned. That's why she's getting my vote, and that's why I'm going to be proud as hell to cast it.
If you feel differently, then by all means, I can't wait to hear your comments about why science, and church/state separation, and LGBT rights, and women's rights don't matter to you.
Donald Trump is a man with no ideas who surrounds himself with people who have bad ideas.
He would be a disaster for anyone who cares about evidence and reason and the encroachment of religion into our politics.
And if you think he's just playing the part, and he doesn't really believe any of these things that he's saying, well just look at who he's surrounding himself with. The people pulling his puppet strings are Christian conservatives.

both are completely corrupt, at this point it's just a matter of who's bullshit you can handle more.
george dubayu ridin a shark in space Or keep your back straight and vote for a candidate you can support with a clear conscience even if that candidate won't be president.
no trump is way worse dont listen to the rightwing propaganda radio hosts in disguise and rt
george dubayu ridin a shark in space I think Sargon of Akkad had a video on why Hillary must lose.
The Asian Theist And Sam Harris has a video on why Trump must lose.
Henri Zwols So who has the better choice for candidate? Cause Trump seems to be the least offensive candidate with regards to the least dirty record.
That's funny, because my atheism doesn't define my political beliefs.
CulusMagnus It's identity politics, dontcha' know?
CulusMagnus how could it?
CulusMagnus It doesn't have to define your political beleifs, but why would you want to help theocrat conservatives if you aren't religious?
Maybe because those "theocrats" won't end your freedom of expressing your political beliefs
what a moronic arguments.. they'd be the first to repeal freedom of expression with blasphemy law if they could !
I'm so glad I found this channel. You're a kind person and genuinely care about others, and sadly that something hard to find in this world. You have my love
as a atheist i cant vote for both, since hillay has blood on her hands
There are two other options you know. You might want to look at those two as both are rather different from each other and far different from...the top two. Also Bernie is still a write in option. It sounds like you will not vote for the lesser of two evils, so I am glad to hear that.
As I recently heard said if you add in the two major third parties you don't erase your lesser of two evils dilemma. You change it to the lesser of four evils. Neither Stein nor Johnson are remotely qualified to be president. I would love for us to not be two-party. However that doesn't mean I willing to vote for just anyone simply because they aren't Dem/Rep.
Hillary is the only candidate that has any business even running for president let alone winning. I know all the baggage she carries and a lot of it's pretty terrible (no she isn't secretly killing people to cover up) but none of that compares to the gross incompetence of our other choices.
I would love for there to be another option but this year their isn't. I'm holding my nose and voting Hillary because it's the only rational thing to do when you look the reality of the situation.
Thinking like that is why there are two insanely powerful parties that have total control. People such as yourself who believe the lie that only an R or a D could ever possibly be qualified created this mess.
I too do not see enough evidence to say she is killing those people, or should I say having them killed. Sure, many people who opposed her ended up dead under mysterious circumstances, but those people were into all kinds of questionable things. There is no reason to think Hillary was the death nail, pun intended, when there are 5 other viable possibilities.
No, I will not give power to someone who already is above the law. I will not vote for her. She covers up little nothing things. I surely do not want her to have something bigger to cover up.
Jesse Sisolack I never said only a Democrat or Republican could be qualified. I simply pointed out the reality that this year the Democratic candidate is the only one qualified.
I voted for third-party candidates in the past.
As a person with a brain, I can't vote for either of them.
Pitsa Puma But I'm sure that's unrelated to having a brain.
I assume there is some medical condition preventing you from voting Hillary like all the other people with a brain.
I'm happy I don't live in the USA

Brian Patrick van Oers same trump and Hillary are a joke
To bad America is one of the most powerful countries.
racso orodr too bad power doesnt mean prosperity
I would be too, if i didn't live in Brazil :\
Thank you for sharing your view, Hemant.
As an athiest I'd rather not have an atheist try manipulate me on how an atheist should think and act like. Atheism is not a religion. We don't have to work together. Politics has very little to do with your belief or disbelief in a god....
it does if you actually give a shit about reality
please elaborate on that logic please
Alon Asaf if your entire character is just "atheist" then you don't have much of a character. Most atheists care about the impact of religious dogma in government and society etc. and that incorporates his decisions. simple. Doesn't mean YOU have to agree but that's what is important to him and many others
+MArio Pendic that is if you believe donald trump's presidency will have some mystical effect on the way people think... give some examples if you think he will pass laws that conform to a certain level of religiosity
Phil MacCamley watch the video first. He clearly explains the problems.
A better title would have been: Why I as a human can't vote for both candidates
Yukio Trust me, he can vote for Hillary all day. Even over Sanders, I believe.
How could you possibly vote Hillary over Sanders? He's better on EVERY SINGLE issue.
Well, except he's not on the ballot anymore, and in some states, like North Carolina, because he ran in the primary, but didn't win, he is specifically excluded from being counted as a write-in candidate.
ReXo Reflects I believe this host dude supported Hillary over Bernie when he was still in the race.
ReXo Reflects Oh. I thoughcha didn't know about that, from your reaction.
Can we not involve atheism with identity politics, please? There's something distasteful about saying "As an atheist..."
John O'Brien I understand what you're saying, but since it's his channel he can do whatever he wants lol
John O'Brien I actually concur with this. Political views has nothing whatsoever do with Atheism
When we stop involving religion in it, we will stop including atheism in it.
you mean as distasteful as the people who say "As a christian"? religion is a major part of american politics im afraid.
Sweetpea Tony That's true, I just like to disagree with people. It's kinda my thing.
Unless Trump is specifically trying to make Christianity the official national religion or something, then the words "as an atheist" have no bearing on your political beliefs.
Agree...im a rarity...im a conservative atheist
Trump wants a religion of reason like they did in France during the Reign of Terror.
Maybe the belief and ideologies of aethism is more connected to politics than you think. Many conservatives use religion for their claims. And deny science something aethists value alot. Like how they deny climate change
XBOX 360 holy shit, your ignorance is olf the charts. What do you mean by there is no evidence of climate change. They already have the proof which created their assertion. That's how science works first you get the facts then you make judgement from the facts and create theories. Anyway, did you know that we haven't had a colder than average month in thirty years. We are losing about 170 billion tons of ice from ice sheets each year. Sea levels are rising and so are the temperatures, carbon dioxide levels have been increasing as a direct result of carbom emmisions from humans. The sun is actually at a lower energy output than usual but it is still getting hotter. So stop saying shit that we have no proof. It's all around you but you just don't want to look for it
XBOX 360 you must be a troll lol. That or you won't stop watching your original fake news with Fox news and infowars
You supported Hillary over Bernie, what an awful decision.
Bernie dropped out, so hillary is the only left
Google "Hemant Mehta Twitter Bernie Sanders"
Hemant supported Hillary over Bernie in the democratic primaries and constantly bashed Bernie. Hemant isn't a true humanist.
We all got our views man, democratic over republican is the thing that's important
not if its based on a stolen election.
the integrity of our democratic republic is of more value than 4 bad years with trump.
think about it.
Umm... I voted for Bernie over Hillary in the primaries. Not sure which part of your body you're pulling your lies from, but you should get it checked out.
Great video, and very well thought-out. :)
Thank you for speaking the truth I always appreciate what you say and appreciate you in our world! Sincerely a twitter follower and a proud atheist
I am not american, so I have no horse in this race. But I couldn't vote for hillary either. In many ways, she seems like the worst choice. More pro-war than Trump, and more likely to be defending the interests of oil companies.
And lets be clear, Hillary does not really care about LGBT issues, just look at her opinions in the 90s. She just uses that as a political tool.
Well not caring about LGBT issues is way better than being against them. Donald trumps companies went bankrupt many times. While Hillary's family is involved in politics and she has more knowledge on this type of things. I'm not a fan of Hillary but anyone would be better than trump.
dude, i garantee you trump doesnt give a damn about lgbt issues, one way or another.
hillary on the other hand has a history of bigotry.
Yeah, wrong on Treump -- www.politifact.com/new-york/statements/2016/aug/14/sean-patrick-maloney/donald-trump-against-same-sex-marriage/
So people are not allowed to change their views after twenty years?
i gather that trump honestly doesnt give a flying fuck about it, while i can read that hillary is a secret bigot, who changed her mind due to political expediency, and has actively been the cause of gays being denied rights.
You need to do a 4 year follow up on this topic
Lol
When you mentioned Kim Davis I freaked out because she’s my neighbor 😂 This town was crazy during that time. It was weird that anyone was paying attention to this place. Haha
Thank you for the video! Shared :)
I love this so much!
This video aged incredibly well lmao.
I voted for Hillary too, she got us the family medical leave act. Now you can take time off work to take care of sick family, helped me tremendously.
Thank you for this. I agree completely.
Hemant dear this is one of your best videos. Obviously it is right on the mark to all rational intelligent people. I enjoyed it soooo much.
That's funny because as an atheist, I can.
Lol
Fo
Agree to disagree.
Watching this in 2018 makes me sad
I agreed with nearly everything you said, except about Jill Stein, everything I've seen about her seems to indicate that she is more than qualified for the presidency, but I am open to know what you meant by what you said. Don't get me wrong I will be voting for Hillary this November, I value these issues too much to let a madman like Trump have anything to do with them.
Alex Mourry her policy is very unrefined, there are better solutions for some of the things she mentions, just look up Jill stein ranked choice voting why it's a bad idea, and also look into using qualitative leaning to solve student debt, two things she supports which aren't bad when you say them and don't understand how it all works, but there are better solutions then the ones she proposed, for example over ranked choice we should just allow people to make more than 1 choice say about 3 with out a ranking system, statistically speaking this is more likely than ranked choice to help 3rd parties and independents, my example here is Australia who has ranked choice but still two major parties control the mix, it's also much easier to graph the results of this system over ranked choice, and that's just one example, go read about the other one, it's important to be educated about policy, that's 100% why I won't vote for Hillary or Trump, but I realize Jill Stein isn't perfect either.
Being unrefined in her policies but sane makes her still better than Trump. Being unrefined in her policies but honest and not corrupt makes her still better than Hillary. As we can see with both Hillary and Trump being perfect isn't required to become president.
When asked about her tax plan, Jill Stein literally answered with "it's a magic trick, and you really don't need to know more about it than that it's a magic trick." She might have her heart in the right place when it comes to social issues, but when it comes to policy and funding, she has absolutely no clue how it's done. Donald Trump would bankrupt America because he doesn't care, and Jill Stein would bankrupt America because she has no idea how public funding works. Like her or not, Hillary Clinton is the only one on the ballot who would have any clue how to run the government without destroying it.
raelonewolf If only Hillary wasn't lying so much and being corrupt... Stein can be helped with good people advising her but there's no one who can help stop the corruption.
I'm voting for Stein not because of her policies but because of who she represents. Trump represents the conservatives, fundamentalist and supremacists and Clinton has so much in common with republicans that the only democrats that support her are the SJW and feminists. Sanders backed up the interests of most democrats on other partisans than these two. Stein isn't gonna win however since it's pretty obvious that our next president it's gonna be a disappointment it's time to think about the presidency after that. And both political parties are a waste of time. It's time to consider another options however at this point those options aren't more that a fools hope. If I want to seriously consider another party first that party needs to become stronger and that won't happen if people don't start supporting it that's why I'm voting for Stein.
Well said!
I didn’t vote for him either. And I could tell then that he simply didn’t know enough. Like read the Constitution.
Nobody Should vote for either, Stein 2016
She's even crazier than Trump when you look into things like her plan to finance education, her willingness to believe 911 truthers, gun policy, etc.
An irrelevant, completely unqualified kook? No thanks. She's as divorced from reality as Trump. I'd sooner write in for Harambe.
I try to play catch up on your videos whenever I get behind.
It's sad but I'm still glad I chose not to vote for either. I agree with everything you said about Trump but couldn't bring myself to vote for Hillary either.
Watching this in 2020 is so NOT funny. It has been worse than you predicted.
I can't vote for either of them based on moral reasoning. Not even close. All of them are awful.
Are you SURE your talking about trump? XD I mean I get it Trump is bad but Hillery is WAY worse.
Yep he is missing the real problem.
Is Hillary worse in the specific issues Hemant points?
Really when he is worse by wanting to do the same shit Hillary like don't give a shit about civilian in war and commit war crime
Steven Anchundia Um English?
Khaine's Lair Name one.
Gary Johnson 2016.
I'm an atheist and I voted for Trump. The only thing I have in common with another atheist is my lack of belief that a deity exists.
And that's how it should be, otherwise atheism would be a sect.
Puking Dog 2016!
With love , my brother!
Woo hoo! you go, brother!
As an athiest I think Jill Stien is the lesser of four evils
Manchester Senator She believes that vaccines might cause autism and that 9/11 might have been staged.
She is probably worse than Trump. And I hate Trump.
If you watch John Oliver's take on third party candidates I think it is obvious who to vote for.
snopes already debunked the Anti-Vaxxer claims
Jill Stein is a completely unqualified nutter.
BrDillz wrong
As a conservative atheist I can’t vote for Biden in 2020.
I’m not a conservative anymore but I’m still not gonna vote for Biden.
As a canadian, I probably don't have any business telling americans who they should have voted for. But a man like Trump really scares me. This is a man who is going to turn back progressive scientific thinking a hundred years.
It doesn't make any sense. I'm atheist (and gay by the way) and I'm supporting Trump over Hillary.
This comment section is interesting, i haven't really seen to many positive comments
As a combat veteran of 2 wars, I don't want a president who's going to send kids to invade a country because someone in that country called him an orangutan on twitter.
Ojisan Damn right
Ojisan Him? Hillary Clinton is a woman...
Sᴏᴄɪᴇᴛʏ Pʀᴏʙʟᴇᴍs Sᴀᴛɪʀᴇ so what?
You sure you're not talking about Hillary? Her no fly zone over Syria means shooting down Russian planes, which could start WW3. Russia has recently moved 40 million citizens in war drills in preparation, moved SAM sites into Syria to stop drone strikes(Obama was really fond of them), prepared over five days of food for bomb shelters should nuclear war happen, move troops to the Alaskan border, and had Putin openly state the risk of her presidency. Don't believe me?
Moving 40mil people

You could probably easily find Putin's thoughts on the election your self.
Furthermore Obama talked shit to Kim Jong-un on twitter and look how that turned out...
And of course, no response.
To be fair to Stein, Carson is also a doctor (allegedly a very good one in his field) and still manages to be as assbackward as he is. So, at worst, she's not alone.
make a vid now. Love Love everything you are about. please keep talking cause you are a component that help us.
I’m coming from 4 years in the future after he wins the presidency. Wish more people had seen this then
No he didn't?

this guy is amazing.
Jill Stein creates her own opinions. Hillary gets her opinions from Wall Street.
Remember kids.....you're not atheist plus unless you follow the religions of Islam and feminism.
As a non american atheist, I can't care less about presidential candidates internal policy. I care about thier foreign policy. That's why I'm shilling for Trump.
I can't vote for any of them..
Did they even fact check Trumps IQ before they said he was a legal candidate ?
How are these issues related to atheism? I agree with you, but I think your assessment has more to do with secular humanism. Atheism is not a worldview.
It doesn't matter whether you're a theist or an atheist regarding the upcoming election: no-one in his right mind should vote for Donald Trump.
You started out good. But people voting third party is "adorable"? Really? Condescending as fuck, mate. And precisely the moment where I decided to neither share nor like this video.
If you ask people who voted Nader NOW they might well decide the other way around? With the benefit of bloody hindsight (even though nobody knows what kind of president Gore WOULD have been)? yah. Sure.
But hindsight is ALWAYS 20/20 if you want to go with the tired clichéd crap. Now since you say people who consider voting (or advocating for) voting third party should "do their homework" and talk to a Nader-supporter... I ahve to ask if you have done your homework and looked into Hillary's E-Mail dumps.
But you know, look at the people they surround themselves with, that is sound advice. I personally liked to find out that Hillary has people in her surrounding who seem to think that bombing Russian AA-Sites in Syria to establish a no-fly zone is sound advice.
"Why I, as a leftist, feel that I can force my position on you by guilting you as an atheist."
Thank you for making this video!!
Christmas isn't Christian, it is thoroughly pagan.
my entire reasoning is this:
trump and Hillary both have major flaws no doubt. however Trump is not competent. Hillary is. it's the difference between 2 +2 = 5 and not knowing how to add.
Sam Harris summed it up best.
I'd rather go with the person who can't add honestly!
Devouring_One then you are a complete idiot. honestly
Devouring_One what? Who is hanging people for thought crimes? What the fuck are you even blabbering about?
You said you would rather have a president who literally is incompetent on how to run a country verses someone who can but. Isn't perfect.
And learn what an ad hominem is first before you use it
Mario Pendic Do you even know where 2+2=5 comes from? An ad hominem is trying to devalue the opponents position by downplaying the opponent themselves, " you are a complete idiot. honestly". Never covered my argument at all, just insulted my intelligence. My point was not that don't vote because the person "isn't perfect", but because they are trying to get someone to believe a lie just as an assertion of power.
Devouring_One yes it was meant to make a point.
And no, an ad hominem is attacking a person in replace of their argument. I was simply observing how dumb you are for saying that. It WASN'T an argument against your claim you idiot.
nobody is getting anyone to. "Believe a lie" you are making no fucking sense.
Thank you for being a smart person. LGBT and women's rights are very important issues that Donald Trump does not only avoid, but he doesn't even address these issues you just listed. Please keep making videos because they made a difference on my life as a 12 year old atheist. I found your channel and realized that I am not alone, and other people are thinking the way I am.
Trump didn't support Kim Davis
If I'm wrong please correct me.
Apparently at the Values Voter Summit he said that he is not opposed to her stand and thinks it is fine. He did, however, say that she should have a different job.
God I hate that stupid argument that don't vote for third parties, if you keep voting for the major parties we will never have change. For the love of god please stick to the atheist arguments. Hillary is a criminal and would bring closer to War with Russia. We need reform and the only option that I see is voting for trump. Me being a atheist is not the thing that determines how I live my life. Me being a American and that loves my fellow man surpasses that and seeing how much blood is on Hillarie's hands have, I will vote against her.
I'm curious to hear how you would respond to her various controversies and scandals. To me they do warrant being concerned about. The almost oligarchical nature of her becoming a president also frightens me. Hillary Clinton, though currently representing my views, is nothing more than a sellout and a flip flop when it comes to her opinions on politics. She says what she needs to in order to get further in the polls.
Now, I would like to vote for a third party candidate, and for the last couple of months I have been supporting Gary Johnson. Recently I'm starting to doubt my endorsement considering he doesn't represent my opinions as closely as I had thought. Jill stein actually represents my opinions the best, but I worry she won't be a good president. The main reason I want to vote third party is because we need more options. It's an absolute shame when I tell someone I'm voting third party, and their response is "I didn't know we had a third party".
Same here with Jill Stein. She would be the green hippie we need, but I get the feeling she would have a mental breakdown after a couple months in the presidential chair. Too much stress, too many self-involved interests trying to manipulate her as she's trying to be friendly. If she were to step down, we'd have tot trust her running mate. (Not that bad, but it'd be easy to undo her work if it doesn't have time to be made into policy...) I might vote for her, but I'm still unsure.
That, or if my vote's not going to count, I'd rather vote for my original go-to Bernie. Voting for a "lesser of two evils" has only succeeded in further lowering the bar. I'd rather push successive nominees towards goals I actually believe in, not give them a pat on the back and pass with a D-.
Saying that Hillary Clinton is better than Jill Stein and Gary Johnson is stupid. Jill Stein is and Gary Johnson are far better than Hillary Clinton.
How are all of you Trump supporters feeling by now?
Dustin 3423
Sorry I can't hear you through the wall
Awesome
This Atheist is Voting for Trump, because THIS Atheist is a Conservative
I'm an Atheist too from India. I admire Trump's honesty
Not that any of it matters to me, but I think there's something to be said for "What they say they will do" versus "What they will actually do". Trump might say that he's against a lot of things, but that doesn't mean he act against them. By the same coin, just because Hillary claims to be for a lot of things, doesn't mean she'll act in favor of them. And I'd say there's a far greater precedent for the latter.
You should run for president- apparently you don't even have to have any experience in politics anymore so you might as well. You'd be better than dt! Then again you're an atheist so good luck 😂
Hemant, I understand your points, and see that they are valid opinions, I love most of your videos, but I disagree. First of all, Hillary has, by far, the worst backup of scandals of any presidential candidate to my knowledge. While I disagree with Trump on many points, most you've pointed out in this video, Hillary is too heartless and follows trends of popular opinion too harshly to be a stable leader. Her constant disapproval and wanting to escalate things with Russia could become violent very fast under her watch, Donald at least wants to work with Russia on issues and I feel that's safer for the world at large. Trump also is less likely to have his radical ideas passed than Hillary is to have hers, since as I've said, she follows trends. Probably my least favorite part of the video was you talking down to people who support third party candidates, it felt so flippant. I feel the best part that could come out of this election is popularity for a third party reaching considerable support and help bring down the two party system.
I respect your opinion and I know nothing I'm going to say will sway you, you wavered my support, but then again I don't preach for Trump, I just support my own thoughts. Agree to disagree and I look forward to a new video
I agree completely!
Apart from one thing... Hillary Clinton.
I like what she says, its just her saying it.
To determine if Hillary is telling the truth, ask yourself "what will the political consequences if she doesn't follow through?"
+Manchester Senator To sum it up in one word?
Obama.
But I did asked myself this.
What would I do if I was one of those people who voted for Nader...I wasted my vote on someone who hsd no chance of winner, and instead we got the worse evil out of them all.
With that in mind,Hillary may be my vote,it'll be a reluctant vote,Hillary most likely won't be doing what she says but lets put the same question you had for Trump.
What will happen if he wins...
That is much more scarier than Hillary messing up.Much more.
TheCommunistDragon51 Check the poll numbers before the election. If she's predicted winning by less than 58%, vote for her, if not Trump won't win anyway, so you might as well vote third to remind her that she is only the lesser of two evils.
+Manchester Senator Good idea,so far the polls say around 45-53 for Hillary right now,I'll check again after tonight(isn't the last debate tonight too?).
I may go Jill, just because Gary has shown me he's just a Republican with a Libertarian disguise.
And well Green Party is the Green Party.
I just hope we survive this election... that's all I want...
Hillary didnt support gay marriage until 2013. Vote Jill Stein for a true progressive!
Starting with "as an atheist" has no weight when it comes to stating facts. Most of your statements were misleading and others were out right lies, I really think you need to examine Hillary under a microscope to see some of the positions that you touted that Trump has, that Hillary out runs him for miles in. It seems to me you are bias and obvious this is your opinion, but encouraging other atheist to vote for Hillary makes me question your credibility.

This is what I've told many people. As an atheist I simply cannot vote for Trump and honestly almost all republicans.
88ElZany Not true. Your Atheism has fuck all to do with it.
Except maybe for LGBT rights(maybe, although atheists can oppose it), atheism and politics are two totally different things.
I would agree before or that it can absolutely be that way. However, with the way the Republican party currently is I'll disagree. Almost all influential Republicans (as well as the majority of Republicans) are hard core religious Christians that want to put more religion/church into the state.
I really love your videos
You made compelling arguments, and sowed some seeds. I do however think that you may have made a mistake condescending to those choosing to vote third party. There is no faster way to close someone to your argument.
Ryan Whitney We can't have people NOT trying to vote Hillary, now!
"you're not the atheist pope"
lol
@Timmy Ryan why would there be such a thing as an atheist Pope? XD
@Timmy Ryan indeed! 'u'
I love people who make long videos, i always put them to play to help me sleep after i have already watched them
@Timmy Ryan i don't use them too, i just let it play from my phone and i leave it at a table besides my bed :P
And yeah, i do, but what i recommend really depends on what genre are you searching for, and i don't think i have many unknown gems in me repertoire. For example, RE:Zero and Steins:Gate are on my top 10 for sure, but people already made sure these two are well known. Ruroni Kenshin is popular too, for the old school people... Konosuba is really meme-y, i think the internet loves it XD
So, yeah, what kind of anime would you want recommendations for? I'll do what i can 'u'
@Timmy Ryan i do too~
Well, i don't have it, i mostly use Discord or(to a lesser extent) Twitter 'u'
@Timmy Ryan oh, i probably lost the notification of your first reply. Sadly, i don't use any of those, i am not much of a social media person ^^'
As an Atheist I am an Anarchist.
While they're doing that, google the objectivity bias.
Warden Gaming LMAO I am neither. I am just not an idiot like you brown noising the government.
TheIgors20 No I wasn't I question the votes. Read up a bit on what anarchy actually is and you will be aware and free from your close minded biases.
"I'm friendly atheist, I want separation of church and state. I want feminism and Islam in my state."
I had to vote third party. I couldn't vote for trump, and couldn't vote hillary
i do not trust hillary what so ever. at least with trump he can still be advised on what is correct.
2020 calling. How'd that work out?
I’m a United Methodist Christian. So my church believes in science just as much as we do God. I supported Libertarian Gary Johnson in 2016.
Damn I used to think you were smart 😢
What Trump supporters think is of no concern to me.
He was right all along
3 years later, I can't say I 100% agree with my 18 year old self.
Yeah I just re watched this and I'm just so far removed from my hard core atheist phase that this seems so cringe and goofy now haha
@@cleito001 I mean Mehta is right about alot of things but he does come off as preachy in his political videos even when he's correct.
Hillary = Christianity
Trump = Muslim
Atheist= New system or someone better
This is how i feel about you going for Hillary ..

Lunas Grandma If you don't care, I wasn't talking to you. I was talking past you.
Rebel Yell You made a good choice.
Seeing Clearly Media Appreciate it, brother.
Joined to idiot side? ok bye
If you truely care for science, vote for Zoltan Istvan (The Transhumanist party)
Thanks for your stance on protest voting. It is selfish and entitled to put your feelings about Hillary not being Perfect (Bernie) over the potential damage Trump could to to our less well-off fellow minority citizens.
Andrew Jaggi Indeed.
I didnt vote for Trump and i could never , ever vote for Biden .
I am voting for Vivek Ramaswamy because i think he is the most qualified candidate .
Why do extreme left wing liberals try to tell people what to do , how to live and how to vote ?
How did that work out for you?!? 😂
How did 2020 work out for you?
And, of course, number one reason to vote Hillary for most people is that she's not trump. Nuff said.
"When given the only(, realistic, ) choice between two evils, I can't vote for the lesser evil (- and therefore giving the greater evil more chance to become POTUS)." Well, have a nice 4-8 years....!
McCarthy has since changed her position on vaccines
I'm voting for trump because I care more about the mainstream news lying constantly to the public, and the mainstream media bias towards Hillary. I know that Trump is a bad candidate, and I don't care. I care more about the unethical practices of the media more than almost anything. More than my sexuality and definitely more than my lack of religion. Also I don't believe Hillary especially because just a few years ago she thought that gay people shouldn't be allowed to get married.
I couldn't vote for any of them, I'm not american.
I'm not American, so I can't vote there, but if I could... I would much rather vote for Hillary. She is not perfect by any means, but she is much much much more qualified to run a country. It does not take a genius to see that Trump is a complete joke! He was a complete joke before he even ran for president.... Now add in the people that Trump would have surrounding him during his presidency and you have an even larger joke on your hands. I may be in Canada, but if your country goes down hill because of that loose cannon and nutcase, then I'll also be affected.
