There are a few channels out there that just leave you with such a positive vibe after watching them. The combination of a great family, scenic places amd stellar editing really have an effect on me as a viewer. Thank you for sharing this leg of the adventure.
Can’t get over how relaxing watching these videos are. So many people started doing road/cooking trips on UA-cam but this is by far my most favourite channel to watch.
I love that you include the challenges, mistakes, and mishaps in your videos. But more importantly is the mindset your family carried that any problem is solvable. It’s something lost in todays world and it’s good to see it in practice and a great example for your children as they continue into adulthood.
I was born and raised in Ventura, California. My husband and I spent our honeymoon camping at Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park. There is nothing better than the Pacific Ocean. I always long for the sound and smell. I now live in Texas. I saw your video from South Padre Island , so different isn’t it? Thank you for taking me home.
Oh, you were in my neck o' the woods, the Oregon Coast ... 0:23 = my little village. Cape Perpetua, Sea Lion Caves, my stomping grounds. Hope you enjoyed!
it is so neat to see the coast journey, no matter the weather our coast (aka Oregon) never disappoints always something beautiful. you must have hit the brunt of the storms the coast got hit with on your way down. Not super fun for camping in the sideways rain. Always helps to be flexile and how neat you can see more along the coast. Can't wait to see what the next mods on the Jeeps and motorbikes will be
I love your videos! You guys have inspired me to buy a 1997 Jeep Cherokee, 95000 original kms, one owner that's from Vancouver and has never offroaded in it. I am going to put a rooftop tent onto it and travel down into the states and all over BC with it this summer. Taking it on some of the same trails you guys have been on, I will be sure to stop by the spot right on the edge of the Grand Canyon! Your Jeeps caught my eye last fall in Tofino when I saw the decal on the window and looked you up. Have been watching ever since, you guys have exposed me to a new way of traveling and exploring. Your videos are so entertaining and the quality of them just continues to improve, they are so cinematic and you are all great at capturing moments and sharing them with us. I can only imagine how beautiful that sunset was in person as cameras never seem to do them justice, yet you guys somehow find a way to! Keep up the great work, I know I speak for many people when I say we really appreciate and enjoy your videos. They inspire others to live more fulfilling and meaningful lives, while always reminding us to stay close and appreciate family and friends. God Bless!
After watching most if not all your wonderful videos, you folks hit a road that I've travelled many a times...PCH 1! As a Southern Californian, have always taken this road on trips up to the Monterey Peninsula/Carmel areas! It is a spectacular and peaceful indeed! Have also driven the road you are on through AZ, NM and to Texas ! Quite a stark contrast..... Have only done it once and that is once too many! But, I know you will make the journey adventurous and special! Looking forward to next week's episode! All the best...
Thank you again for taking us along with you. For those of us that can no longer travel much, these weekend visits with your family are the next best thing to being there. God bless your family and be safe. If you ever make it to the Outer Banks of North Carolina I will hope to see you.
Great vid. I’ve been to Big Sur many times and in fact to Pfeiffer State Park as well. Nothing beats the Oregon Coast drive down into Northern California.
I am really looking forward to you JXL additions. I gave been researching them for a while but cannot find any “ really world” reviews. I enjoy your trips and am envious of your lifestyle. Thank you for sharing your lives with us.
Your channel ha really inspired me over the past few years. I'm slowly building up my Colorado to do more overlanding. The community is incredible! Your videos have a lot to do with that culture and community. Last year I was able to take a 5k miles road trip from Oklahoma to Yellowstone 14 days of roaming around and exploring was one of the highlights of my life. Many more trips planned for this year! Thank you for everything you do!
I did this same exact trek down from up north all the way down to the whale watchers cafe and I did not know about the cabins back there. We ate at whale watchers cafe and continued down to San Simeon. Amazing footage of that sunset though.. wow.
Absolutely loved this video. We have been following you guys for a long time now and always enjoy seeing where your travels take you. We have a Jeep Rubicon and just this last week we picked up our new Sprinter Revel. It was at Agile Off-road in San Diego for some mods and we drove it up the California coast on our way back home to Reno. We stopped at the same Big Sur campground and camped at the very same spot you guys were at - # 98 . . . recognized it instantly in your video due to the one picnic table having no tabletop and then compared our photos with you video and it certainly was the same spot. What a coincidence as we always imagine we’re going to run into you somewhere in our travels and it looks like we missed each other by a day or two this time (we were there last Tuesday, Jan 18) - darn it! We also thoroughly enjoyed the elephant seals -what amazing animals! And we especially loved the beautiful sunset as well as the cool music you always find to play on your videos. Keep up the good work and safe travels always!
Wow! I don’t remember exactly what day we were there but we must’ve been close. We’ll see you out there one day. Thanks for watching and have a wonderful day!
Thanks for sharing. My son was in the Coast Guard stationed in Crescent City, CA. We loved visiting and exploring there. He would take his dog out to the beach to run like Lando did. Stay safe! Danny - Alabama
Brings back memories of when I camped a couple days in Big Sur with my son decades ago. Hiked many trails, swam in the river and ocean. Also drove down Hwy 1 and stopped at the same places you did.
Big Sur, my stomping grounds!! Y'all should've took a look at Pebble Beach👍 Monterey County has to be one of the most beautiful places in the world. It has everything from mountains and the beautiful Ocean!!
Man, you can cook for me anytime, looks great. really do enjoy your channel! Some day I wish I can take a couple of weeks an do a road trip like you do!!
I've drove the Pacific Coast Highway about 30 years ago. Combination of 1, 101 and I-5 from Port Townsend in Washington to Mexican Border. Its was a great experience! I was getting stationed on Whidbey Island in the Navy. Heading to see the Sea Lion Caves this summer staying at Depot Bay in Oregon.
Enjoy Las Cruces! Desert Peaks Nat Mon has a few camp spots just off I-25 / I-10E. Must see La Mesilla old town. Worth the stop. The food is awesome. Billy the Kid jail and more. Double Eagle has a cool ghost room to check out!
Great episode to all. Carolyn and I absolutely love that Highway in Oregon. Unfortunately there's no way for us to get out of Canada right now so we are so grateful for the memories. God bless you all, sincerely Mike and Carolyn your friends at MC Ranch Overland 🌷
Very happy to see you folks pamper yourselves a little with cabins, hot showers, bathrooms etc. Happy 4U! The Elephant seals were huge?? Also, knee buckling sunset! How beautiful.
Another great video. I am sure it will be nice to hit some warmer weather! We just spent an evening in our roof top tent in the 30's...it was a little chilly 🥶. Travel safely.
Great drive guys. The Crescent City area to the North Bay area on 101 has some really cool features. I did see that you went down the Avenue of the Giants. All take care and be safe out there.
I always love your videos guys, that highway one ☝️ is really cool 😎 i’ve been up and down it many any times and the food looks so good I will have to remember that recipe you guys made sausage tortellini and try it. now got a craving for some clam chowder 😆 ok 👌🏼🔥🤠🔥Camping Russ out
Y’all just changed the whole dang game with that camp meal! Wow! So many wonderful flavors. Howdy Y’all, WELCOME TO TEXAS!!! I hope you enjoy our great state. We native Texans are very proud if ya don’t already know.
Legendary as always. I noticed a union jack bottle in the cafe, interesting (or not) fact, did you know the flag is a union jack on ships and called the union flag ashore. Anyway, see you down the road!

Did you happen to go thru Yermo and stop at Eddie World (the giant ice cream you can see from I-15) , that place is amazing . if you can't find a snack you like there then you don't like snacks . I highly recommend the Brisket Jerky at Jed's Jerky , any flavor is great . I have made the run from southern California to Texas several times , depending on where in Texas you are headed it can easily be done in two days maybe just into a third if you are going to Houston or South Padre island . Have fun with the border patrol dogs if you go way south , they are trained to signal at every car (I could tell you some stories about that) , it is up to the guy talking to you if you get to go without a search .
Oh, my gosh! I can't wait to see your JXL conversions! That's on my list for my Jeep, as the last thing to do before I retire. Now I have to go roast some garlic...your cooking always inspires me. :)
We drove Hwy 1 on Jan 3d, and camped at Pfeiffer State Park that night, on our way to Death Valley. Did you check out the gas prices in Gorda? $8.49/gallon for Premium 😱😱😱🤣
