Pete Jr - you are a *natural* educator. Your guidance offered to your mother during her maiden KTM voyage was filled with instruction, wisdom, patience, encouragement and -especially - love. Every mother would be proud to have you as her son. Job exceptionally well done !!
Daniel you are a wonderful son. I love how you took the time and offered space for your mother to learn to ride a motorcycle. You gave her opportunities to step back if she needed to. Your parents must be so proud of you.
Mom is so special cherish these moments with her. I don’t get to see mine as often as I would like to do to the profession I have chose for my country. She understands that but man what I would give to have these kind of moments with her.
Great video. Momma biker was a surprise and very cool. You guys nailed the Utah backcountry. Captured it well. Really liked Peter’s recall storytelling of the Bluff wagon road.
Happy belated momma’s day Carol 💐. You rocked the bike ride and the outfit!!! All the hard work training has paid off! Just listening to Dan’s voice, lovingly coaching you really warmed my heart ❤️. Pete Jr…thank you for the amazing history lesson…you are a natural educator!! And yes we absolutely respect and thank the people who came before us for their hard work building a better pathway for us to enjoy 🙏🏻. Thank you Epic Family for another great episode. Your hard work is greatly appreciated ♥️💚💜🤍💛
So cool Carol is working in her bike skills, seriously awesome job Dan. Your calm and composed instructions and help was so neat to listen to. Again the views are spectacular. thank you for taking us along. Glad you got the added bolt to seat the beard ion the bikes.
It really makes me feel good when I saw that you are doing such a great thing with whole family. I hope I would be able to do such a thing with my parents even for a short period of time.
Good job on the bike Carol! Dan's instruction and encouragement was great, the kindness in his voice was spot on. Another well done video, always enjoyable. Happy Mothers Day Carol.
Yay, Carol -- great to see you are a motorcyclist, too! What a blast it must be to ride on those remote trails. Am impressed that you can handle those bikes, especially the height. At 5'4" I'm limited by seat height. My Kawasaki 750 has lower seat height than my Honda Monkey 125. Whenever I look at the adventure bikes they seem too tall for me. The entire episode was beautifully filmed and edited. Great, soothing, background music. Nicely done, all!
Awesome 👍 Happy Mother's Day Carol 🌼 You have done a great job raising your Cubs into outstanding adults! Good job Mama Bear. You to Pete Sr. Safe travels Perry
Tearing a tube at the valve stem is always because the tire turned on the rim , we used what was called "rim locks" back when I was a rider and I had them on front and back because it can happen when braking also . The hard part of all that is not pinching the tube while getting it all put together , adding a little air while assembling helps keep it from the pinch points but the rim locks were notorious for pinching your tube during assembly but with that and a puncture prevention strip all put together right you were good for a long while .
Thanks for filming and driving Snow Flat road! Plan on driving it and Cockscomb soon. You are in one of my favorite areas of the 4 corners area. And the Moki is a favorite. We "discovered" it accidentally when returning from a Montana trip about 20 years ago. It was quite a surprise driving from the north (exceeding the speed limit on an empty highway) and wondering why the sky went to the horizon and why there was a sign saying there was a 90 degree corner coming up....Paper maps did not describe the road! Safe travels
The valve stem on the tube usually breaks when running low pressures while being aggressive on the throttle. The tyre slide on the rim and pull the tube with it, which then results in the stem tearing off.
Happy Mother's Day Carol!!! You have raised such amazing kids. That Moki drive was breathing taking!!!! Again thanks for showing the map! Use the kickstand of other bike to apply pressure in small area of bead. Just my two cents. Done a few tractor and truck tires...
Great episode! So proud of Epic Mom on her riding skills and standing the bike up on her own! What a boss! I just added Moki Dugway to my list of places to hit later this year as I make my way west!
Flats on bikes will happen. The rim lock is a necessity for running low psi. I prefer 2 to make balancing easier. Use the trailer jack to pop the bead if needed.
Awesome! My son just started to ride and I’m excited to ride side by side with him soon. He’s a fast learner so I’m hoping this summer. Keep up the good work, and be safe.
Great family I’m a big fan of your family I’m from Saudi Arabia i hope one day we will have the pleasure to visit my country every time I watch your flogs i just want to go for an and an adventure gad bless you . Fayez
Super nice episode with phenomenal footage! Brought back SO MANY wonderful memories from our travels there last year! We drove across Snow Flat Road on a whim, never realizing how amazing it would be. Thanks so much for sharing!
U look highly experienced on that “ Bike”……………………..What a great day to Wish You A Happy Mother’s Day!! Maybe new nickname 🤔How about “Motorcycle Mama”! Love your Family ❤️👍🙏
What a wonderful “how to” manual you’ll be able to write for aspiring overlanders. But really guys, as much as we love your videos, we MISS Carol’s awesome neo-Mexican cuisine offerings. Can we please have some of that back?
I love how you started this video showing how to set up the Schenk, I just bought one last weekend directly from Wayne, and told him that I've seen this in your videos. Super nice guy. Thanks for giving me ideas of what to cook. I just became a patreon too. Hope to bump into you when you're back in Ontario.
As always Thanks for sharing. The cadence of this video is great, loved every second of it, great editing and background music. Enjoyed the adventures. It’s important learning all the nuances of keeping those bikes running and jeeps. What we love is that you make us feel we are learning it with you. Your headed home for now which is ironic because I finally am headed out that way from East. Someday maybe we will meet. GOD bless
I was riding in San Rafael a couple of weeks ago and had the same thing happened to my rear tire. We changed it and found that the valve had been sheared off because I didn’t have a rim lock. We were able to put a new tube in and make it back to camp, but as soon as I got home I added a rim lock to my rim. It seems strange that most of these adventure bikes don’t have them. They produce plenty of torque to spin the rim on the tire. The other thing I have realized over many years of riding is that some heavy duty tubes create more heat within the tire, especially when riding at extended higher speeds on pavement.
Mom on the dirt bike is so EPIC?? Good job Carol!! I actually would never know it was her on there except for the long blond hair hanging out of the helmet! Happy Mother's day to the most dedicated mom on UA-cam! Once again I commented too soon, Nice commentary Daniel! Thanks!
You need to break the bead first and then get on the Tyre levers. Use the second bike's side stand on the side of the tyre to push down and break the bead. Once the bead is off the rim taking the tyre off is easy.
Yes, If riding alone they also have Bead Breakers. A clamp that pinches both sides of the tire to knock them off the bead. Although on dirt bikes I never really needed it. Couple swings of a hammer always brought them off the bead. I change the ones on my BMW GS1150 Adv, and KTM Exc's all the time. My EXC's don't have kickstands. They just get leaned on things a lot. LOL
Inspiring to see Carol challenging herself on the motorcycle! My wife is replacing our 2005 Suburban - her current no. 1 is a Wrangler Rubicon! Hopefully Carol can be an inspiration to moms like my wife to continue to challenge themselves to enjoy new adventures!
Great family, great adventure, and great teamwork! I really liked the ending where everybody scattered after, “we’ll see you next time”. Thanks for the video!
Wow what awesome scenery along that rout . Will be doing it some day for sure . Thanks for sharing your beautiful travel memories with us all your over landing friends . Cheers from Steve Stott in Sutherlin Oregon U.S.A. :):):):):) 🍻👍🏼😁
That was an amazing adventure. I always wanted to go on top of a Mesa. I’ll have to try and find the Moki Dugway and go on it one day. Something else to put on my bucket list
Can't believe I recognized Carol from the thumbnail. Lol Crossed paths with you guys in the valley. Didn't know you're youtubers. Enjoyed the content. Safe travels!
I am on an EPIC binge of ur channel Love the channel all the care, love and attention to detail make it truly EPIC P.s. Contact Netflix the need your winch to pull them out of their nose dive
Epic episode! Really, really really enjoyed that. Lyndon Poskitt is the tire repair king if you watch his Races to Places videos. Maybe mouse instead of tubes in the rear tires???
Enjoyed the video. Tearing the tube at the stem can happen if the tire spins on the wheel as you know. For that reason I never use a nut on the valve stem.
Awesome adventures, nice job on the footage thanks for sharing. What app do you use to find these trails so amazing. We use so many apps but cant find trails like these.
We just bought a pickup truck and a roof top tent. So hoping to do these kind of trips but for beginners, nothing crazy because don’t plan on any mods just yet. Any videos of your videos you would recommend me watching for some good advice on first timers?
Happy Mother’s Day Carol, you did a fantastic job on the bike I could see another bike of your own in the future, great views and one good thing about having the Jeeps there is that if you do have problems with the bikes you could just throw it on the back ok 👌🏼🔥🤠🔥Camping Russ out

Great advice. Thank you.
Great video. Momma biker was a surprise and very cool. You guys nailed the Utah backcountry. Captured it well. Really liked Peter’s recall storytelling of the Bluff wagon road.
2/21/24 - WOW! Beautiful scenery! Happy Mothers Day from Charleston,SC
Happy mother's day from South Africa.
I loved the patience with mom on the bike. You are guys are an incredible family ❤❤

Awesome episode. Makes us want to head back to Utah for sure!
Thank you once again for taking us with you on your adventure. You have no idea how much these videos mean to many of us. God bless and stay safe.
So cool Carol is working in her bike skills, seriously awesome job Dan. Your calm and composed instructions and help was so neat to listen to. Again the views are spectacular. thank you for taking us along. Glad you got the added bolt to seat the beard ion the bikes.
It's been 40+ years since I went to Valley of the Gods. Thanks for the memories!
So cool Carol jumping on the bike and riding! Happy Mother’s Day
By far this moment is the best any mom can ask for. Family
Those rock formations are something else. Love that long shot at 13:02
It really makes me feel good when I saw that you are doing such a great thing with whole family. I hope I would be able to do such a thing with my parents even for a short period of time.
Good job on the bike Carol! Dan's instruction and encouragement was great, the kindness in his voice was spot on. Another well done video, always enjoyable. Happy Mothers Day Carol.
Thank you!
Did a "full moon" shoot.... a few years ago.... at Valley of the Gods.... It was just awe inspiring. Just me and the coyotes!

I was going to say exactly the same thing. Rim lock for the win.
Happy Mother's day Carol..
Best "entertainment" at any price.

Love watching all the places you visit, and the fact that you all work together towards a common goal.

Great job. Nice job Carol. Have a great Mother’s Day. All
