To gain muscle, count your calories daily for one week. If you gained 0.5 to 1 pound in that week, keep the same calorie count. Otherwise, adjust accordingly.
We're operating at peak performance. Also, this was a really interesting to me, I enjoy the personal stuff, cool to have a little window into what you are doing day to day.

to gain muscle (not just weight), there's nothing else other than building muscle itself as obvious it may sound. whether you increase the muscle mass by means of hypertrophy or increase density by way of fiber density, doesn't matter. the only way to do this is to push the muscles beyond its capacity so that they can be damaged, then repair themselves in a manner of adapting to the increased stress. of course you need the appropriate nutrition to accomodate the necessary repairs, but just eating more alone will cause unwanted fat mass in terms weight.
Tips for gaining muscle, yes eating a lot (caloric surplus) will help, but you need at least 8 hours of sleep, all essential amino acids for muscle building, idk them off the top of my head but u can look them up and what foods contain them. Also if u are looking to build size over strength, as u keep adding weight, try to up the reps while u do so, I.e. if u bench 85lbs for 8 reps 3 times, when u add weight to bench 95lbs, don’t stop when u can get 5 reps 3 times, aim for that 8 reps 3 times again. Also, when u do boxing, u neeeeeeed to stay on top of the caloric surplus because boxing is amazing cardio which will burn a LOT of calories and will prevent u from gaining mass
For weight gain there's the standard body mass index formula for calories per day - helps a lot. Some more protein but nothing excessive is most important. From my experience* high intensity training esp.doing a full body circuit (two to three sets of each muscle group in succession)and training close/to failure works the best. This boosts the endocrine system much more than focusing on specific muscle groups only. Repeat two to three times a week🙏
if you want to gain muscle count your calories, it's kind of annoying at the start but if you eat the same 4-9 meals (say 3 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 3 dinners) and you just calculate the calories for each of those meals, then mealprep each one 4-5 days. Gives you 27 variations of meals. use a tdee calculator to find out how much you should eat to gain muscle. Then have an extra protein shake on top of those 3 meals.
reasons why you might not be gaining weight(specifically muscle) is maybe due to the half hour cardio that you do and maybe you eat less. So the way to go around it is since cardio is good for your cardiovascular health, just start eating extra calories to compensate for the ones you lost during cardio. You should aim to eat around 3000 calories a day and around 100+ gms of protein every single day to put on some muscle mass. It's a process so just be consistent and you will see the results in 4-6months. Also train hard in the gym, so the muscle grows which will also result in weight gain.
Nice to see your more personal side, you have many interests. As for building muscle: you need to prioritize things. It's much harder to gain muscle when you perform boxing classes as well. Most important thing is to be in a slight caloric surplus and to consume about 1 gr of protein (animal-based is best) per pound of bodyweight, as a rule of thumb. Once you know your caloric intake and your weight, you can adjust your caloric intake when needed by adding or subtracting 200-300 kcals. Shoot for about 100 grams a week of weight gain. By doing so, the amount of fat gain will be limited. Hope this helps!
Easy way to gain muscle by not changing much of your daily routine is start taking creatine and eat 2-4 peanut butter honey sandwiches while doing progressive overload in the gym!
To gain weight it’s simple but not easy, chicken and rice is super low calorie so you’re gonna need to eat more calorie dense foods, eat like 200 cals above your maintenance and at least 150g protein, and train at an intensity like your life depends on it
Hey Coding Jesus, great video like always, I hope this comment finds you well. I've seen all your videos regarding how to break into quant trading, And you have mentioned that an economics degree is a relatively fine degree to screen an interview. With that said, I can't help but feel a lot of regret for not majoring in math or computer science. I am a 3rd year economics student who is learning programming on the side along with reading all the books that you recommended. But I just can't but feel that I will always be out competed by math, physics, stats, and cs majors. Nonetheless, I will keep moving forward, will try to get the best GPA possible, and get into a good masters program and will hopefully email you in the following years about my success all thanks to you. God bless and keep up the great, meaningful work!

i think lifting heavy weights , will increase your intake of food, naturally over period of 6 months you will gain, as it is tissue formation, so it takes a lot of time, one tip:-start tracking calories , app for it is my fitness pal
If you are trying to just gain weight try adding olive oil to your meals. It has like 100 calories for 1 tablespoon so its easy to add into meals. Also peanut butter is great too. 190 calories for 2 tablespoons.
Coding Jesus, if you want to gain muscle then eat more protein. Even an extra chicken breast a day or couple of eggs a day will help. Then do pushups 3 times a week, 20 or so per day should be fine. Do pullups as well if you can, 3 times a week, just enough so that you don't overexert yourself, but you also feel the burn. Do that consistently and you'll put on some good muscle.
Count calories to gain muscle. Find a calorie calculator that measures your height and age and go off that. I had great results doing a 50/40/10 % of calories allocated to carbs/protein/fat (this is very hard to do though but possible with protein shakes, Gold Standard is the cleanest) an easier variant is 55/35/10 since carbs are yummy. Good sources of protein that I liked is 0% fat Greek yogurt, 98% lean ground turkey, and eggs. There are others but those three were my go to choices. Ground turkey/egg/cheese/salsa burrito was my everyday breakfast. Focus on muscle recovery too, magnesium is big and also after workout HARIBO GUMMY BEARS. Your muscles need the simple carbs to easily break down and use for repair. Also creatine supplement are good for muscle growth but I have heard you need to keep up with it to retain the growth. I went from 165 to 205 in 6 months doing this. Do your research, create a plan, and get after it.
You look like a good candidate for creatine, and it's a nootropic it helps with brain and circulatory function. Having more water in your muscles makes it easier for them to digest nutrients and heal. and with how lean you are, you're not gonna look bloated from the creatine, just your muscles will Def look full-er.
to gain muscle you need to be eating a lot more, protein, carbs and fat, force yourself to get more protein, you are 75kg, so try and go to 200grams of quality protein, start with 150g of protein and build up to 200-250g, lift heavy and over eat. what you eat over your recommended calories should be protein. Bulking is not fun
to gain muscle all you have to do is join the Life Time fitness in River North (all the hottest people go there). Then you will be motivated to actually workout and get gains to get to their level. This wont happen at peasant land planet fitness or even worse - East Bank Club. Next go to the whole foods in the same building and drink a whole gallon of chocolate milk and soon you will get gains and not be the same weight as a high schooler
Hey man just a question don't know if you will see. I saw one of your previous videos on your stock market strategy and investment style. I was wondering if it at all reasonable to try to make a stock market bot and if so what are the best resources to watch/read or learn about this. I guess I just want to do this just to have a good project and because I am interested and to eventually go into trading firms as a quant. But perhaps I'm thinking about it wrong. Any apply would be greatly appreciated :)

Why do you "duck" your lips so much. Just be natural man, your face is okey, stop with the faces. Anyways, for muscles, something that worked super well for me was to do HARSH cardio for 2 minutes after a workout. If you already broke the fibers in your muscles, you want blood to circulate a lot more. Hence, go all out on a cardio exercise to the point blood oxygen gets low and makes your heartbeat and air intake increase. Even though it is 2 minutes, and maybe 5 recovering, your circulation will be much better for hours. It is a tiny difference that over months creates a huge difference, and it is what I seem to notice marks the difference in natural people who cant seem to gain muscle despite a good diet. Just better circulation so the nutrients in your blood go where they need to go instead of being pee'd out.
