i loved when i finally made it to the desk and had 8 screens, now that i work from home i have 5 screens including the laptop screen. Ppl who come over and see my setup they just love it!
As a game developer, this sounds like a vivid description of hell 😂 Don’t worry - I’m sure you’d have the same opinion of what I do. The spectrum of software engineering is amazing. Thanks for sharing-
Hey Coding Jesus, thanks for the video! I will join Jump Trading this summer as a TechOps intern. What do you think about Jump, and also what is your opinion on TechOps in hedge funds (is it worst than swe or quant?)
Jump is arguably the best prop trading firm in the community. Unfortunately, yes, techops is seen as inferior to swe/quant. However, you will still make a ton of money as compared to other jobs. You’ll be jealous of the rumors of what the front office swe/quant/traders make though.
Does the prop shop you are working in has separate floors for the develop, trader, and researchers or are they all on one floor perhaps in a different room?
"You arrive at a luxurious building"... and you show a stock video of a man in a suit walking through a greenhouse.... ROFL! Greenhouses are not luxurious. They're damp and stink ;-)
I am a software developer for 10 years, I made my own trading system making 7-10% monthly on crypto coins during the COVID time. Should I look for career change to turn to be a quant developer, or just resign the job to run the trading business myself?
@@walterwangsyd and? Your returns underperformed buy and hold. Sounds like you either need to refine your strategy and see how it performs in different market environments or give up and use that energy towards getting promoted at your day job.

You say trading is not a carear buy this is about the carear of a proprietary trader i dony understand you ..but the opposite view is entertaining..so sre those traders not using technical analysis

I'm honestly blown away by the fact that trading firms have things like nap rooms and games. That's so techy of them!
Thanks, Next week it will be my first day in Quant firm as an SRE moving from an investment firm
Wrong your first day will be sitting at home and having zoom meetings with hr... Thanks to covid
Maybe in a country that was hysteric about COVID. In most of the world you’d walk into the office with a mask on and maintain 6 feet distance.
@@CodingJesus Most of the world = The US and probably Canada. The rest of them are way too hysteric. And Australia’s gone into 1984 mode
Excellent content as always. Unedited straight talk, concise and to the point. Thank you sir.

Thank God my prop firm allows me to trade at home.
Which prop firm
@@batousai2143 FTMO
What firm are you with? Do they cover your internet cost?
Thank coding jesus
Definitely the office size and glass is only for Americans. London/Europe you're gonna get low level floors and tiny offices.
I'll be sure to hit you up whenever I win the lottery to start our own firm with HFTs and other young knowledgeable option traders.
Lol good luck winning the lottery
What's stoppping a successful quant dev from taking his skills and applying them into his own startup? Essentially quants are money printers right?
Capital, OWNING THE TECHNOLOGY THAT THEY HAVE AT THE FIRM- THAT SHIT IS EXPENSIVE...
he's teasing us...giving us a taste only to later get reject by the ATS :(
today is my first day and i already want to cry and quit lmao
why?
Yeah same question, why? Also, how does it feel after 7 months?

Would you work at a trading firm located on the second floor of a building?🧐
second-floor counting from the top? Sure!

@@yapyoongsiew4394 second floor from the middle

yes, lower latency than all the guys above me.
I thought banks stopped having prop trading divisions since the Volcker rule
Some banks have them outside of the US, but there are independent Prop Firms. Actually Many!
Mind if you make a video explaining the different types of quants?
What operating system do you mostly use at work?
good question, it should be some unix, windows is too crappy for such an environment
can you like do like a video, a day in the life kinda thing, showing your office? what you do, etc?
"You arrive at a luxurious building"... and you show a stock video of a man in a suit walking through a greenhouse.... ROFL! Greenhouses are not luxurious. They're damp and stink ;-)
Can you make a video on infrastructure developers
The Discord link in your profile isn't working, how can I join your Discord?

of course resign and run the trading system for yourself, why to work for a boss ?
Let's hook up. I'm looking for a co founder
So your Algo underperformed just buy and holding Bitcoin over the same time period? Don’t quit your day job.
@@ThomasFoolery8 I trade 3 thousands times per day with 25million monthly volume on a 3k base fund

have u worked in HFT ?
Reread the title of this video. In particular, the part in brackets.
Totally off topic but you should do a beginner introduction series to c++
There are already plenty of those online. Thanks for the suggestion though.
there are a lot of such video lessons already and many of them a free
Will u be able to discuss the organizational chart of a Quant trading firm?
What’s the average amount of hours you’ll work in a day?
8 - 10+
@@CodingJesus I agree. Also depends on the market? Asian and European markets vary.

your salary?
1 BTC per month :D
what type of schooling do i need to become knowledgeable in developing algorithms for trading?
CS maths finance
So paper trading to see if trading strategy works
Do you think that Quants will make trader's job obsolete? Since traders are manual compare to a quant which are much practical.
You're messing up the terminology. There are quants and trades which work on the same team, and their jobs are quite different.
what is quant?
This is amazing info spot on thanks @coding jesus
Sounds like a regular dev job
