This is what I do with my P07. But I am going to save for a light bearing appendix holster, probably Legacy Firearms.
Heel yes I’d be interested in a holster with that light. I got a S&W M&P 2.0 compact 3.6 because I I wanted a great balance of capacity to barrel length for appendix carry. But due to the rail length, the only light I can carry is the fat streamlight TLR-7 or this awesome little O-light. Leeeettt’s Goooooo!

i see a lot of gun channels comment on their worry about holsters. I don't see see thee issue. If you design a holster for a particular gun and design it to hold the light with the clasp on the farthest back rail and and light butted up all the way to the trigger guard and make it an open design, it will allow the light to fight in any configuration on that gun.
I am totally with you because I am in the market right now for a Tacoma(next month or so) and I'm really into shooting as a hobby. I've taken classes in long range precision but I also everyday carry. Eventually I'd like to take more advanced classes in the 3 shooting disciplines(pistol, carbine, precision). I'm even learning to code on the side because I want to get into the industry for a career jump. As far as mindset and lifestyle I'm fully on the same page with you, dude.......

Thanks for the review Mike. I have a Springfield XDmod2 & bought the Olite Pl Mini-1 but had to do some minor modifications to the mount to fit. I like the fact that the new 2 is shorter ( and a little taller) and has an adjustable mount as well as more lumens. Your holding the two lights together is great to compare. The Mini-2 will work for me even better , not to mention brighter light and more desirable color tone. Get well buddy ! J K

@@theonethatdoes2551 what do you mean? There is a rail piece in the box you can swap out for picitinny rail. Also the mount slides foward and backwards. It fits, not sure why you are having g problems unless you light is a different model
no brainer on the pre order thing, if ppl dont wanna pre order, they dont have to. Also I think its a win win for the modular portion of the light, where holsters are always made for one specific light length ( slammed home ) this just adds user options after holster choices are made.

I'd guess that that assessment is at least somewhat accurate.
I only get 600 lumens for about 1 minute, then im down to 60 lumens for only about 20mins. I love the design but just disappointed about how quick the lumens drop. Anyone else's dropping that quick?
I'm not a holster maker but logic will prevail with any holster maker ... It'll be made to fit the light flush forward so any setting closer to trigger will still fit the holster ;)

I had the same thoughts on the pl2 thank you I have bought the pl1 after watching your video. Good video. Helped me make up my mind and the validation of my own observations.
I would be interested in a holster with the mini. Especially for a G19 with RMR.

Not ONLY is the PL Mini 2 great for all types and sizes of pistols with a rail, it also works surprisingly well on rifles, SBR's, SMG's, and shotguns. Just about anything that has/can have a 1913 or Glock picatinny rail attached; will work with the fine tune adjustability that the PL Mini 2 offers. This even works on my PSC crossbow pistol!

O light has been killing it.. Price comparison alone is worth looking at, but then you realize it's quality.. It's a steal!
My EDC is a Sig P320 Compact and a Sig P250 SubCompact, I brought the PL-Mini for both and had no problems finding a holster that seats them both well.
I would definitely order a holster for my HK vp9sk with the Pl mini 2. And I would get one for the 3.6 M&P 2.0 compact .
Long time watcher first time commenter, love the show btw. Love overlandung, camping, off-roading, guns, prepping, in short being LLOD. So not a Glock guy, yeah, yeah yeah, the best gun, sure whatever, no argument, just not what I have. Do you make holsters for other platforms, namely a certain Italian brand?

OLIGHT answer:
It keeps ONE (1) minute at 600 lumens, then DROPS to 60 lumens with run-time of 60 minutes.
I just tested mine with a fully charged battery. I got approximately 2 minutes at 600 lumens and then it dropped to 60 lumens for 18 minutes. After that, NOT enough light to check a 20 x 20 foot room.
My light is brand new. Form and fit are fine.
So the bottom-line is you are paying $90.00 for a 60 lumens, 18 minute light.

I know this is technically an "old" video now, but this is the issue I have right now. I carry a Keltec PF9, I bought this light and only put it on at night. I don't have it on during the day while carrying because there aren't any holsters that accept this light. I don't feel the need to get a custom one made just for the light, so while it's at my nightstand, the light is on, otherwise it's off. But I love the light.
After looking at a lot of lights I came to this conclusion. This light is a nightstand light, not an EDC
Every gun show I ever have been to has had a booth making custom kydex holsters on the spot. Run what you want and hit one of those up.
Interested in a holster as well. Curious, could you just make the charging port in the holster oval instead of the exact round size of the charger? That way the holster could accommodate different light positions. The magnet will hold the charger on so it's not like the holster needs to have that hole in a perfect position. To me, that seems like a simple solution and you could accommodate the full range of light positions.
Yeah, it's more than the charging port - the channels need to be a certain size, depth, etc. For the holster to 'stop' at a point, there needs to be molds around parts of the gun or light. With a weaponlight you have no more retention on the trigger guard, so it relies on having a pretty specifically sized shell, touching key points along the light in order to achieve desired levels of fitment, etc.
Or, just make holsters with the light all the way towards the muzzle and delete the charging port. While it's a nice feature, I'd rather have a holster that I know will work for the light position I prefer and I can take the light off to charge it occasionally as necessary.
Dude. I love your videos. Living in NYC make the 2A hard to practice but I am hoping to move to a state like Colorado after I graduate with my Bachelors in May. And yes I plan on buying a holster after I move to a better state. Thanks for the content. I have learned so much.

Honestly, I've been subbed for quite a while now and this video appeared on my notifications. UA-cam messes with firearms content creators. I'm on here daily and I get notifications but I really have to be on the lookout for some of my subs, especially gun channels. You should consider this if you don't already.
Hope you feel better soon. I love these lights. This Mini 2 is my 4th Olight. Forget SureFire and Streamlight. They seem so 90s now. Olight had the user in mind and FINALLY made lights that we want. And your holsters were a game changer. Do you have one for the P365 and this new mini 2? I know you have to buy a separate pic rail to be able to use this Mini 2 on the P365, but with the added pic rail and this new mini 2, and your holster with the opening for the charger would be a very nice item and I’d be very interested in it with a sidecar for an extra mag. Ah, I see you have to holster for the P365 with no light or rail. Dang. I’d love to see it with the light. Maybe in the near future???
No, OLIGHT does not have a competitor for the TRL-8, their laser light is massive, no where near concealable, if they made a Mini 2 with laser I'd or combo that was smaller they'd be competing
Tyler Barker Lasers are also so 90s. If you’re concentrating on the laser, you won’t see their eyes.
And the price of the TLR8 and all the batteries you’ll have to buy? Not even close.
@@Kornholeeoo if you're not able to get behind your sights or your night sights are washed out by a bright light, the laser is pretty useful then ... Reviews say the built in battery on the OLIGHT is trash, constantly charging is not gonna help, how's the batter on yours?
Awhile ago you intimated you were going to work on holsters for Polymer 80 guns. Do you still plan on doing that? And will you make them for the PL Mini 1 and/or 2. I know you have a lot on your plate, especially with moving so I'm curious because I would definitely purchase one for the PL Mini 1. Also you do great vids. Even a jaded A-hole like me enjoy them, ha!

I got this light because I want my next carry gun to be a M&P 2.0 3.6 and this is only 1 of 2 or 3 lights out there that will fit it. I definitely prefer the the controls on the PL-Minis to the Streamlight TLR-7 so it made this decision really easy for me. It's nice knowing I can make this light fit pretty much any handgun but mine is only going to live on subcompacts like this and my eventually P80 G26 build. There is a part of me that wishes they had just made a solid light with no adjustment system that would fit subcompacts, but they wanted to make something versatile that would fit just about anything and I get that. Seems to work just fine and I don't think it's going to end up being a problem for this light.
I’m not sure about anyone else but I would love an associate v2 holster for my Springfield xds 3.3 with the new pl-mini 2! Just a thought!!! but it would be a definite purchase for me!

Good well discussed and described process from the holster maker end. The Mini 2 was a no brainer for me with the XD45Mod2 Subcompact and HK P30SK.

Thanks for the comparison. I’m a Glock owner I am currently in the market for a new weapon light. I like what Olight has to offer, I do not currently own any. I wanted something for my G21sf but now after doing some research I think I am going move my Inforce APL Gen-3 from my G23 to my 21sf. After this video I am considering the original PL MINI Valkyrie for the mid size frame. These weapons are currently used for home defense. I like the flush look when it comes to weapon lights. But I still feel crossed because the light beam that the PL mini 2 throws seems more efficient! Decisions decisions...

I think this is perfect for a home defense gun, maybe light concealed carry. Definitely not duty but for home defense, being able to recharge it, and it not being so bright it blinds you in middle of the night when you're half asleep
I run a open backed fobus em19 paddle holster which allows me to run the light in any position and charge it in the holster.
You should make the holster's retention based on the Olights body ala PHLSTR Floodlight. Doesn't matter how the light is mounted on the gun. Sorry if someone else has already mentioned it.

I have both as well and not really a fan of the mini 2 comparatively. The 2 also has a more yellow colored light whereas my 1 is a white light, not a huge deal but I prefer the white light. Wish the 1 wasn’t discontinued

Dilldow Schwagginz The holster is super comfortable to wear. I wasn't sure how I would like the single clip but it works out great. I stopped using my Tier1 Axis-Elite to use the LLOD Associate V2.

Most people don’t Cary full size glocks for CCW most people carry a M&P shield sig P365 spring field XD compact so it makes sense they made it like that
Owning and operating a holster company, and being friends with many other holster company owners - actually the vast majority of people carry Glock 19s.
I would definitely be down for an Associate V2 for M&P9c 1.0 w/ PLmini2. Pretty sure that would also fit my M&P9 2.0 3.6" w/ a PLmini2. Man that's a mouthful... (that's what she said.) And thanks for the code for the 556 patrons. Can't wait to get my hats.

The charger is a problem!! I have multiple Olight flashlights and love them! I bought the PL mini 2 for my 19x and figured out quickly the magnetic charger is a different polarity than the one for flashlights. I wanted to carry 1 charger for my flashlights and my gun light... doesn’t work.
The PL Mini 2 comes with its own charger.
My M&P9c was made for that light. Hopefully you and some other good companies will start producing holsters for it. Haven’t seen anyone doing it yet.
I've been waiting for a light for my M&P9c that had more lumens than the TLR-3 and better controls than the TLR-7. This light is perfect except for the shiny black.
I'm in the same boat. I've contacted SEVERAL holster makers and have yet to find one that are doing it. I have a M&P9c as well. @Mike, please help us out!

Would have loved to see the upgraded led from the mini-2 in the mini-1 without the new mount. For me the biggest miss on the pl mini series is qd mount. Why don't they offer a screw mechanism to delete the QD lever on the mini-1?

Do other holster brands accommodate for a PL mini 2? It's an amazing weapon light for EDC that I can swap on multiple handguns.
I bought 2 of the Olight PL-2RL BALDR light/ laser combos LAST year when they had their black Friday sale. Trouble is , nobody makes a kydex holster for it. The PL-2RL BALDR is an older version they were trying to deplete their inventory of, and larger vertically, in that the laser is bigger, and hangs lower under the light. The Valkyrie and PL Mini are more compact. So I'm stuck with padded nylon Uncle Mike soft holsters which are ok, but not ideal .

Great review, I absolutely love this light and it saved my life = but that's for a different story = but it fits my p80 Glock 26 sub compact perfectly, and also shoutout to polymer 80 for putting rails on a Glock 26 because I haven't seen one on a OEM Glock 26 but could be wrong, but ya the output on this light is definitely worth the difference imo, I'm seriously enjoying this Olight😉😎❤❤❤
The PL-Mini Valkyrie 2 has been an excellent lighting solution for my Steyr S40-A1. Only 2 lights fit, the other being the Sig Foxtrot1, also 600 lumens but bigger front profile.
Great video Mike, I need that pl2 for my HK vp30sk, I've been trying multiple lights I own, inforce, both models and they look weird or don't line up right, the only other option was viridian, which I can't bring myself to buy, just don't care for the price versus the lumen output, so I think that olight hit the nail with the hammer on this one!!!

Great review. I picked one up the day it dropped due to the sale and put it on my Glock 29 but im not sure I'll upgrade my edc light to it for my p320 c. I will probably stick with my pl mini 1. To answer one question you had on how holster makers might deal with it, one that I use frequently wanted a picture of the light on the gun so that makes sense based on what you were saying for rail position.

I know the light is hard to make holsters for, but a lot of the blame goes to Glock for their stupid rails. Why can’t they just put a normal rail on it? My goodness Glocks are just hideous! I know they’re reliable, but there’s many reliable brands. They are gross looking. Good video dude!

Just ordered one for my glock 26, and going to install it on the “recover tactical” rail addon. Looking forward. I have a tlr-1 HL on my Glock 19, but now the g19 found its new home inside a Micro Roni Gen4, so I need to replace my bedside weapon with the g26 & olight pl mini. Hoping this setup works well for me.

Wondering if you could use the QD lever bulge to lock the guns in to the holster and then provide a long open area to along some adjustment of the light.
I have the Olight on my 45c m&p. Haven’t had any luck finding a holster for it yet.
