The one's you're showing in this video. In particular the 6-ton stands are the Version 2.0 of the new design since the recall. They originally had a 1.0 version that had a different saddle, beam and different size safety pin. The V 1.0 had a more wide and squared off saddle, and a thicker beam, with slightly shallower teeth. They also had a smaller overall triangular safety pin. The new V 2.0 have the more rounded saddles, that match the style of the 3-ton stands, they have a narrower beam with slightly larger teeth, a narrower neck and pawl to match the beam, and a 4 sided stop on the beam that sits on the neck vs the 2 sided stop on the V 1.0. The pin is also larger/thicker. This redesign was done quietly, they just slowly phased out the V1.0 and phased in V2.0. In my local Harbor Freight you still have some old V1.0 6-Ton stands on display, while the boxed up ones for sale are all 2.0 style.
Just received the 3 and 6 on my porch. Much safer and if I wanted to, I could add even more crossbars via bolts. That's what is old time HFers have done in the past. Best of both worlds then. Monday the rubber tips should be here.
i got these, they seem so nice. i have 2 of these to replace my old walmart pair, but ill use the walmart ones when im not going under the car since they seem to be built decently well, although ill never go under the car with them ever again
Still will never buy jackstands from harbor freight. Other tools and even jacks are great from harbor freight, but they lost all trust on that product line.
That's just a dumb position to take. Many brands have recalls, in fact I can't think of one major brand that hasn't. They did the right thing, they redesigned these to be a lot bettwr than the old ones, and let you bring in your old recalled ones to exchange for a new set. These new one's are even safety certified.
@@BigBear-- rewatched the video instead of just skimming after reading your comment. These do look way better, and honestly better than my current single locking stands. I need to do a lot of work under the front end of my bus, and will give these stands a second look. Will go in person so I can inspect them though instead of blindly ordering. 🤙
@@callalilycollectiveI would say that besides US Jack made jack stands (which are not cheap), these Daytona stands are probably some of the best made stands on the market currently. The welds are great, the powder coating is super even, the teeth are molded sharp and deep, the overall construction is rock solid, and I love that the 6 and 12 ton stands have flat feet. All the Daytona branded stands are great, including the new 3 leg locking pin (Esco style) ones. They're so much better quality than the original Esco stands...the welds are much nicer, no major porosity issues, blow outs, or cold welds, the saddles are nice and level, the feet are all symmetrical and evenly welded, the pin hole alignment is all the same (on the Esco stands some pin holes were misalinged relative to the feet, so if u put the stands under a pinch weld, the feet would face random directions, rather than all in the same proper direction) and the powder coating is miles better applied. I once tried to buy a pair of Esco stands, I ended up ordering over 10 different sets from Amazon, and between the 10 sets I couldn't pull together 2 stands that didn't have some form of issue, I ended up returning all of them. These Daytona stands are miles better.
@@startrek889 actually just checked them out last week. I was walking impressed with the new double locking feature, especially compared to the ones other stores are carrying. Welds looked good on the display models. I bought different ones before I made it here, but I would’ve bought the harbor freight ones if I still needed them.
I still don't think I'd ever use Harbor Freight jack stands since that recall....There's just too many Craftsman and other older brands to find at garage sales and estate sales......Plus I also use a good old fashioned section of a tree stump........About a foot and a half wide by a couple feet tall....Between all of that,I wouldn't be afraid to fall asleep under one of my cars.😂😂😂😂
All the jack stand of this style are commonly known as Widow Makers! Using these jack stands are like going off to war. You don’t know if you’re coming back home..

When you get crushed by a dodge neon, they're going to swear that bad boy was pushing 13k lbs.
It's ok as long as that pin isn't made of Chinesium.
Personally, I dig deep for axle stands.
China actually makes good pins... Stop being blind by the made in usa label.

Harbor freight tools are better made than craftsman these days. Good point about the tree stump, I’m stealing that idea
