Omg we need Indian history festivals all around India. Its not fair how tedious our history is made out to be. The Colonial narrative pushed down our throats, and then we are given marks on that.Crazy!!!

I am having goosebumps, this same thing about Ashok was narrated to us in school by our beloved history teacher Prabal babu, almost off the record, because he couldn't teach that to us formally way back in late 80s
His definition of Ashoka comes out of his jealousy against the emperor. Whatever he said about Ashoka is false.

Ashok truly has the credit of establishing an Empire, but history must be based on the whole truth, and not on selected parts.

While living at South Delhi, I have witnessed all this happening to Gurugram ( Gurgaon) from that day to today. We knew Gurgaon for Maruti Factory or milk men coming from that place. This is theory of evolution. So very well studied and explained. Thanks

We read Sir Jadunath Sarker and R C Sen. They were paid by the British rulers to write against the Muslim rulers of India in order to poison the minds of the Indian Hindus as that helped them achieve their goals of divide and rule policy which ulimately resulted in dividing India in 1947. The future will tell who were the heroes. No one can match the bravery of Tipu Sultan, The Rani of Janchi and Netaji Subash Bose. Please tell me if he ever defeated Aurangajeb or conquer the Capital city of Agra or Delhi?. He was a great guerilla fighter and a good secular leader. His marcinaries after his death turned into gangs of robbers and looters. And they pillaged many states of India and came up to Katwa of West Bengal with a view to attacking and plundering Murshidabad by defeating Nabab Ali Vardi Khan. But the Nabab and his solders made them retreat from Bengal and Orissa leaving all bounties behind them, with tails between two legs.

The Ashvamedh yagy is the essence of the India's manifest destiny- one nation from the mountains to the oceans, just as the US made it its manifest destiny to be from sea to shining sea. And despite multiplicity of political divisions, the laws across the land on taxation, on retirement, on inheritance ect. were quite uniform, dating back to to Kanik niti as taught at the time of the mahabharata, but was already established civil law across the subcontinent. People were free to travel and settle in any kingdom, republic, with no Visa requirements. The entire subcontinent was and is one civilization.

Mr. Hindol. Few corrections on what you said about Jayalalitha - She is a tamil having roots in Karnataka. She moved to Chennai when she was around 10yrs. MGR was a malayalee from Srilanka. MGR's father migrated to Srilanka

No, Jayalalitha is not a Tamil as Tamil is not an ethnicity but a language from Lanka. Also Karnataka is a Lankan name from Karu nadu, so looks like jaya has no identity lol. So correct yourself before correcting others.
Out of Africa to India could be even older than 80 thousand years ago. There is a new evidence that has come about that the first Australians went from India 65 thousand years ago to Australia. Therefore, the a small group of people from Africa to South India must have come many years before that time.
The "out of africa" theory is basically propaganda where "evidence" has been provided to arrive at a preconceived conclusion. Stay away from it.

Africa has the largest variety of humans at present , tallest, shortest, fastest, fattest ..... etc. Probably the source of all genes which mutate easily to manifest in a different shape, size colour etc. Continuous exposure to the chemicals like arsenic, lead, mineras, flourides etc in soil drinking water etc which is a geographical factor can seriously modify the shape of human beings to make them look totally different from the original people over long period.

Today we are living with great knowledge from quantum mechanics to the edge of universe along with geological history of billions of years of earth. Along with billion year history of species and of course million years of anthropogenic finds of human species and archaeological finds of human activities. And add to that documented history of religions. And each one person living has direct relationships with all mentioned above.

Sanjeev Sanyal should realize that the " Out of Africa" Theory has a political bent to it rather than a historical. For him to say that we "left Africa 60,000 years ago" is a totally irresponsible statement. Sanjeev needs to study how the "out of Africa" theory is basically a propaganda that Indians should not associate with.

What Sanjeev Sanyal is doing is dangerous. He is as much a part of breaking India as thapar. Only sanyal is more nuanced. His book is heavily reflecting Sheldon Pollock's thesis on language as oppression. Be very careful while you read his works as he is compromised.
