tommy is just naturally funny, they started out as serious musicians but quickly learned how funny tommy was, what a unique act, top tier musicians along with great writing and comedy.
I've always enjoyed Joan Rivers and I think she's funny. I realize she's not everyone's taste, but so what. She's a lot better than many AND she's a REALLY quick ad-liber!
I don't think many people appreciated how much work she did, not on TV. She kept working smaller gigs despite being the 1st woman guest host on the Tonight show.
When it's comedy, things are said in fun - she never meant to make a point politically - it was just to make people say - sometimes we're serious - and just need to laugh and not take everything so seriously!!

She loved Reagan and the Fords and had many of their pictures on her walls of her back stairway. She was pro-choice, but not so much that she would vote Democratic, although, she would, later, vote for Obama.
