My journey brings me to the edge of GUINEA |S7E40|

- In this episode, I am riding through the highlands of Guinea and I am visiting two amazing waterfalls. This is just the beginning of the rainy season (so.. the end of the dry season) so both waterfalls don't have a lot of water running down, but that's why I can actually walk ride on top of them - and even, ride my motorcycle over one waterfall!

Thanks Noraly for taking us with you!
I wonder if you realise how watchable and engaging it is to follow your channel: it really feels like we're going along with you on your adventures.
Thank you so much.
I agree they are many times I have said let me just watch like two minutes I continue later and i keep finding myself watching the whole video
Agreed
Yes Noraly takes us on a worldwide beauty scenery tour
your rides have changed the way i travel. No fancy tourist places, focused geographical sites visit, more local interactions food and accommodations. and being positive always

The best way to travel, to be sure! Two wheels, four wheels…it only matters how you choose to see the world. Carry on! 👍
Hehehe wakenya hamchelewi...great
The waterfall terrain was stunning! Our Noraly takes us to remote and out-of-the-way wonders of nature which most of us will never ever see . Thank you Ms Schoenmaker!
Words can hardly express how much I admire this woman, such physical and mental strength in such a small but perfectly formed person, everywhere she goes she is loved and admired, strangers just cannot do enough for her, not due to her UA-cam fame but due to the warmth of her personality , she literally has become a world class example of what's best about women..
That young man was really blessed to ride 2 international riders on his little bike. That was awesome👌
you need a wing man for safety
He did a good job scooting along that road surface in traffic with two adult passengers. 👍👍
I always watch around me and see that locals do everyday what intenational bikers consider impossible trips. He s got a couple of hundred dollar bike, clocking 200.000 km. and takes two giants along for a ride, for a couple of dollars.. The big riders have 20.000 dollar bikes, just bought brand new, and they are always thinking that they have destroyed and finished a bike after a few thousand km. Who is the adventurer? Just a point of view.
@@alberguti3937 her bike cost about $7000 in the states.
@@alberguti3937 Agreed. The 20k dollar (adventurer) bikes are too big, expensive and heavy to do anything like the sort of stuff that Noraly does when off the paved roads.
Christ Noraly, I flew hang gliders for 23 years but you put shivers up my legs and spine when you stood right on the edge of the waterfall. I don’t think you have any fear of anything. Take care and keep safe.
I have no fear of flying but my stomach lurched at her standing there as well. You'd have to drag me to get that close to the edge without a handrail.
Noraly is a woman of no fear, and an adventurist extraordinaire, i am hooked
Good people attract the same so her interactions with the many locals speaks volumes to her integrity and heart. You cannot fake that
What a beautiful day of riding! Very relaxing! The waterfall area and the gorge is really cool. Your aerial views always adds another dimension to your story! Great to meet up with a fellow rider occasionally. Thanks for another day in your adventure. Ride safe Noraly!
Solo ride through !! Never worry about your safety?
@@SaidLopez …….. I’m sure that Noraly takes a lot of precautions in her day to day adventures.
Noraly flew her drone through the colorful canyon like a top gun pilot. Standing so close to the edge makes me queezy. Looks like more than 100 meters shear cliff. Displayed your strength lifting fully loaded Alaska, and by hiking to the waterfall plateau. Another excellent adventure! 🙂👍👍
Exactly, that was such a risky flight, but she managed it like a pro, great views for all of us, thanks Noraly, I follow her since she knew Charly Sinewan and after that is one of My favorite Moto-vloger....
I know, I was sitting here, 2 weeks after she videoed this, Yelling, " don't stand so close to the edge!!"
I realized that was a deep canyon once viewed from the air! Her drone footage is amazing.
you too -- loose rocks scare me -- out would you get out
@@sandy4425 😂 Me too,
I stayed and worked in Guinea for 3 years and did quite a lot of riding there. That was some 30 years from now(I'm 70!) and I can remember so many things because nothing has changed!!! I wish I was 34 years old again ,I would be riding on these
tracks and maybe we would meet!
Wow, Ty for sharing that. It’s pretty fascinating to know it has been the same for that long!
@@cailinanne ,you know, deep Africa is a land of slow change...
I've often heard or read that Africa can be like an addiction . . . . that in spite of its hardships, it can get inside of your soul and just keeps drawing you back. And after viewing this and other videos from your recent trip, I can begin to understand how that can be true.
Such a magnificent continent, with so many varied and spectacular regions! It would take a lifetime to get to know it all!
We are very fortunate to have you sharing this with us.
Thank you, Noraly! Stay safe!
I went there several decades ago, on a six-month hitchhiking adventure, and you’re exactly right, it’s spectacularly beautiful. Lots of open space and friendly people, and it really gets under your skin!
Swore I’d go back one day to places like the beaches of Cameroon and the highlands of Uganda/Congo. Noraly’s films are certainly an inspiration to do so, and a motorbike might be the ideal method…
I am born and raised in Africa. I cannot imagine living anywhere else. Africa welcomes you anytime you care to visit 🌞
Thank you Sir for this really beautiful comment. As an African, you have truly made my heart smile. Thank you so much.🤝🏿... There's no place like Africa! ❤
I spent a month in Kenya years ago and not a month passes that I don't think about its beauty, the cities and towns, the small remote places like the island of the El Molo people in Lake Turkana.
@@rrg2248 So true. 🐿️
Good afternoon Noraly, from Derbyshire England 😍
Hello Noraly, thank you for once again allowing us to live the beauty of nature and everything that lives in it, take care of yourself, let's go for more incredible adventures with Alaska
I got tingles just watching Noraly getting close to the edge of the waterfall.
Just read your blogpost. You are so right not writing one when you do not have the inspiration. You are already treating us to your adventures travelling though a wonderful but difficult part of the world. Sharing your encounters with local people who live under difficult conditions and seeing how friendly they are is so uplifting and wonderful. It shines through in all your episodes. We can see first hand how tiring travel must be for you and still you treat us to regular updates. You are a champ so don't feel guilty about anything!

I hope Lucas appreciates how lucky he was to "rock up" on Itchy Boots and then spend the day with her.
Just want to compliment you on your video production and editing. Your timing, composition, camera angles and selection of shots are spot on, not to even mention the content and insight of your narrations. Great job. Your current season traveling in West Africa brings back many fine memories of my time in East Africa with the Peace Corps… living in a mud hut with no electricity or running water for two years. Your respect for other cultures is obviously genuine and sincere. Thanks for the Light you are sharing.
Agree! Maybe only adjust the FPS on the drone to align with GoPro footage
Among my teachers in East Africa in the 80s were Peace Corps! Salute.
Absolutely Jason she is on her A-game. Difficult enough surrounded by modern convenience, air conditioning and technology but most impressive is the harsh environments she does it in even after brutal riding conditions all day and spotty electricity. The real Wonder Woman
I spent my childhood in Tanganyika and Uganda, wonderful memories, but not in a mud hut, it was cement as my father worked for the government, often wonder how things are now as so long ago.
Great episode as always! The moto taxi ride was everything!!! Beautiful waterfalls and packed cars🙂
When it’s starts with Noraly lifting Alaska, you know it’s gonna be good 😂
You're right!
It’s been a while since she has had a 😮oh dear.
That's why I give a Big Thumb's Up as soon as the video starts!
You are amazing, a true lady and very tough. Thank you, take care. Im loving this.
That’s a good observation! You’re right!
3 people on the motor bike best scene yup that's what i call adventure memories to reflect upon in the future
Noraly, the care you put into these videos with drone views, music, route maps & explanations is very much appreciated. This was a remarkable day with waterfalls, unexpected company & a mountaintop place to stay! THANK YOU!
His journey would be interesting.
on every single episode, I appreciate all the extra work she does so her viewers can ride along with her. love it !!!!!!!
That was a much easier day for you. You can imagine how spectacular that waterfall will be when the rains start. Always amazes me how lush these countries are. Thanks for showing us another beautiful part of our planet.
I lived in Sierra Leone many years ago and the rainy season is really not a joke. There are big storm drains at the side of the major roads The dirt roads are very difficult even in a Landrover so not good at all for a bike.
Wow big warning here sounds legit
@@paxwallace8324 Major roads in sierra leone much improved now than before.
I remember when you first started using the drone ..you were so nervous and look at you now down in the gorges
Thank you! It was super risky to fly in between the narrow gorge haha 😅 but I think it was worth the risk!
Wow, the drone coverage of the first waterfall was amazing, flying down into that gnarly ravine was very interesting. Loved it.
Stunning drone footage as always,it is a really small world when you run into another European on a motorbike in a riverbed in one of the remotest places on Earth.
Wow! The drone views are spectacular. What a deep canyon .... water falls as you say will be more awesome further into the rainy season. Honestly I don't see how you sometimes muster the strength to lift your motorbike after you go down. Fellow biker Lucas became an instant friend. You connect with people so easily .... I wish I had your ability to do so. 👍 ❤
Haha. When you’re on the road in a place like Guinea, you meet a fellow traveller only once every few days and, I can assure you, there is no communication barrier and no difficulty making friends, even for those of us who are quite shy.
@@sirrathersplendid4825 You are probably right about fellow travelers, but if you include all the locals she made quick friends with the I am right about her being able to connect with people so easily. Somehow she is able to communicate by finding a shared language or just with her beautiful smile and gestures.
@@gordonpratt4110 - Yes, I get your point. Noraly’s language skills aside, I think women are so much better at making connections than most guys. Often find myself entering a sort of semi-trance when travelling long distances and tend to get bored of answering/asking the same five questions for the 20th time that day. Somehow, Noraly manages to stay enthusiastic!
What a fantastic, beautiful place! Those falls must be spectacular when the water is flowing. With all that limestone, Guinea must have some awesome caves… 😃
You are truly an inspiration for women and humanity thank you for sharing ❤
Itchy Boots!!!! So happy with this new episode 🥰
Noraly your adventurous spirit is unmatched. Thank you for letting us ride with you as you continue your journey through this amazing world with its amazing people.
Just finished binge watching every episode. What a journey.
Again Noraly...your drone footage are simply breathtaking... Thank you for sharing your ride with us as well as your added commentary...your journeys have their addictive algorithm that keeps your fans anxiously awaiting your next video... Safe travels...
This is really superior video. I had shudders of acrophobia as you walked so close to the edge of that first waterfall. The geology of these falls looks interesting. The first is layered, and they look so uniformly sized. The second, although not far away, seems to be completely different. I know you are a geologist and was hoping you would share your knowledge about them. Thank you again for all the exciting videos.
Ditto acrophobia and curiosity about all of those layers of rock. Google won't teach me as well but, I'm going to have to research that.
I was wondering what the orange streaks were leaching from the rocks. Iron oxide? A sulphur compound?
@@tombache3426 I believe its iron.Ore more precise, iron accumulating bacterias.
Yes, I agree. My heart was in my mouth as Noraly walked so close to the edge. I, too, was hoping she might talk about the geological structures a bit. She doesn't seem to have done as much of that lately, and I always was fascinated to learn from her expertise.
Oh no….not rain already! What a beautiful day of riding especially the waterfalls. The drone gives us such a spectacular that look we would never be able to see otherwise. Nice to meet a fellow rider in the middle of nowhere….and he had a needed zip tie. I really enjoyed the video.
This morning I bought some new summer riding pants and went for a ride to try them out. An hour from home I was loving the coolness they provided. Then the sky went gray and thunder & lightning and torrential rain came down. The ride home was wet and COLD.
Being wet on a motorcycle in the wind is pretty hard to take.
I'm glad Noraly has some top notch gear t keep her safe.
Yeah because it looked like she couldn't go much further but the drone was able to cover the distance and It appeared to look back at it. It looked extremely remote and very very tough to get to by motorcycle or foot.
What a Great Invention Drones were, a Birds-Eye View of God's Creation is a Good Thing...
The scene with you three on a bike taxi is golden. 😂
Figures that you would meet another biker in the middle of nowhere AND he had a solution to your broken bracket. Now it seems like you will be experiencing the rainy season, can’t wait for the next video, Noraly…❤❤❤Rick
The rock strata/bedding planes at the first waterfall is stunning! What a beautiful canyon! Also, I love it when you bump into other riders on your journey. Once in a while it seems nice to spend a little time with another traveler. Also the details and facts are great - altitude, when the rainy season is coming, food, etc.. Gives a good picture overall. Looking forward to Sunday! See you then. Best wishes on the rain!
Beautiful drone footage. Thank you!
I have watched every one of your videos, don't comment very often but I wanted to say the drone footage of that first waterfall and canyon was absolutely amazing. You obviously have researched the best places to see along the way and continue to give us a glimpse of beautiful and unique places around the world that we would never otherwise be able to see and enjoy. Please be cautious and safe. Love from the USA ❤
5:47 extraordinary drone footages.😮😮😮. Great job Noraly. 11:17 spectacular with the drone today. Wow!
I don't know what us arm chair travelers ever did without GoPros and drones? Great stuff as usual.
I only use cameras that don't have a fish eye lense.
We relied on National Geographic and Life magazines , so crude nowadays.
@@lhollybow NG & Life not even close. I had NG from 1956 to 2008 and for me who's not a foodie, travel vlogs have over printed media hands down.
I spent six months crossing Africa and used a cheapo Kodak Instamatic camera. That was pre-digital and pre-internet. In truth wish I’d had a cine camera, but would have been too heavy at the time, and v expensive to develop films. Still have some gorgeous photos though :-)
Thanks for the great drone shots of the waterfalls - standing on the edge of the cliff made my spine tingle but you handled it well. Enjoy the Guinea highlands, stay safe, and be careful.
Wow what a sight ! And that includes you !
Good afternoon from South Africa, Noraly. The views you post of the countryside is always great to watch, and the waterfall gorge is absolutely breathtaking. What an awesome episode. Thanks a mill🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦👍👍👌
I was holding my breath with you soo close to the edge of the first waterfall. The drone footage on both of them was stunning. What a great episode again. Hope the rain stays away for now!
Your drone footage is amazing. The car with the guys on top 😂 I’ve seen that in New Jersey.
Safe travels Noraly
I do hate when that happens! Big shout out to you Noraly (and Charley S.) for showing an alternate bike lift in one of your Central America videos. Dropped my fully loaded Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro in the middle of nowhere in the mountains of Eastern Washington the other day. Over 500 lbs. loaded. Can’t do it like you did in this video because of a 63 year old bad back, so I used the front kneeling method you guys showed on the other video and IT WORKED! 😅 Good luck with the rainy season. Gonna be like riding in a sauna!

Thanks so much for documenting your travels on video and editing this all into a very professional production! So worth the wait for each new segment. Cheers, peace, and safe travels!
Very nice drone shots of two waterfall faces pre the rainy season. Interesting to see the depth of the two gorges. The first one most impressive. Nice view of a land most of us will never see. Nice to have a less stressful ride every now & then. Looking forward to your Sunday post.
Such a brave girl on an adventure. Riding alone in high hills, forests, and bumpy roads. Happy to see that in this episode she found a friend. please give big thumbs up (y) for happy smile.
Wow Noraly!! Quite the drone pilot through the waterfall ravine!!!!
Wish to hear a geological story from Itchy Boots of how a deep gorge like that was formed
When Noah’s flood receded 👍
@@stesmith7040 No, a god made it like that to fool the educated people, he/it was a devious bastard.
Yes. Having a geologist ride through such interesting terrain without comment is a little frustrating.
One can safely assume there is a story there covering Millions of years of sedimentary rock layers Noraly seems to be more focused on Humanity and scenery than Geology currently she was interested in the Volcanos of South and Central America in season 6, I suppose there is the Eastern Coast of Africa and Kilamanjaro and the Rift valley at some point in the future travelwise
I'm no geologist, but I'll take a stab - she's standing on a shelf of hard to erode igneous rock, right at the boundary with a multiple layers of deep sedimentary rock that tens of or even millions of years of flowing water have eroded much faster as they pass over it, hence the waterfall & the narrow gorge. That's based on what I learned in school geography class.
Why is the igneous rock there with the sedimentary next to it like that? What kind of igneous rock? What type of sedimentary rock? You need to ask a geologist :-D.
Just when I thought your adventures couldn't get any more breathtaking, you go and ride over a waterfall 😄! Who knew waterfalls could also double as a motorcycle track?! Rock on Noraly! 🤟
Wow those waterfalls were awesome. So glad you find the cool places to take us. Thanks
