- Hi everyone, I want to share a review requested by Ryan about the RgT Supply Waxed Jacket; here are my thoughts, good and bad.

I have several waxed jackets. F&T, iron & resin, duluth trading and others. This is my favorite, my go to jacket when I go out with the wifey. It is well constructed and fits better than the other co. jackets I mentioned, more tailored fit. I got the Stag limited grey version. Sizing is spot on for me. I'm 5'10" 200 lbs. athletic build. Xl. I had no issues at all with qc. No loose threads any where.

I’m 5’8 190lbs. Getting a large. U think that’s a good size for me. I’m also athletic build.

Glad to discover your channel. Very thoughtful review with honest criticism.
The quality control wrt loose or untidy threads is consistent with all rgt jackets made from martexin canvas. However, it does not seem to be an issue on unwaxed versions of the same jackets.
Martexin shows contrast more readily than some other waxed canvas, like sylkoil or thornproof finishes by Barbour.
Ime areas of high contrast are more water resistant than dry spots on a Barbour. If in doubt pour a little water over an area and test for penetration.
The major problem with the RGT supply is that it looks so nice when worn 😅
I agree completely with you!!, I own Barbour and Barbour international and you so right!! in the other hand RgT are very stylish jackets.
I have a few waxed jackets I would say this is a great jacket but for cooler weather the freenote cloth, flint and tinder or the scout from iron resin is a better choice

@@UrbanLadUK yes I like the lined version it looks very warm but very hard to get in season probably better chance of getting one on eBay pre owned or like new or online now before the fall months hit

Stag Trading in Austin have these jackets with a custom Japanese lining, they ain’t cheap but you get what you pay for.
It is true. I also have Freenote cloth RJ 1 with lining, and I wear more than the RTG unlined; the cheaper option and lighter is Flint and Tinder from Huckleberry lined, too.
@@UrbanLadUK Agreed Mr Urban Lad. I’m also in the U.K. so like you I’ve taken the hit on import duty more than once. I am embarrassed to say that during my quest for the perfect wax trucker style jacket I have amassed seven Flint & Tinders (Trucker in tan, tobacco & olive green plus blanket lined also in tan & tobacco, Ranger in tan, Hudson in tobacco) two Iron & Resin (Scout & Cruiser), the Freenote, Wayfarer from P&Co in tan, Gustins waxed trucker which is yet to arrive & also the aforementioned Rogue supply jacket from Stag which is yet to arrive as I pulled the trigger on Black Friday.
Each of these jackets have thier own merits so I’m not going to deride any of them, I was sceptical about the P&Co as it’s Chinese made but I was pleasantly surprised at the quality.
I think it’s a tie between Freenote & Iron & Resin for first place but until the RT arrives I can’t be sure.

i just ordered this jacket and will receive it tomorrow. My other most favorite Jacket is unlined horse hide from Scott. So, an unlined canvas is not going to scare me. Wax or no wax.

I got this jacket. I like it. I stain on the front and had to remove with soap. To replace the wax I use Fjallraven Greenland wax, I hope that works okay.
I have sent it to a professional for rewax because I have no time, but I think the Barbour wax is fantastic too!!
Looking for perfection? If James Bond wears it, it’s good enough for regular guys.

Hi Diego. RGT is supposedly only waxing the outer shell, I think any wax transfer would be from wax penetrating that shell due to body heat. RGT’s lined version is essentially a blanket flannel lining so there’s no real in-between unless you go for their heavier selvedge options. Free note and Flint & Tinder (as you mentioned) make good, similar jackets, but they of course were not worn by Bond. I just got this one in myself and I’m nervous on how it performs outdoors considering the price but I don’t have any real way to test that without committing to the garment. I also think the Freenote one may be more expensive.

Tom Ford suits are more stylish than Men’s Wearhouse, and because of that and better materials they cost more. You usually get what you pay for. Loose threads in a couple spots? Really. A pair of scissors and in two seconds they are gone if they bother you that much. Rogue Territory is a company that consists of a husband and his wife. The two of them locate the materials, make the patterns, do the books, and do the shipping and ordering. They do everything except they have eight people that sew for them. It is not a large company.

When I review any garment (I have no sponsors, and all were bought with my money), I highlight the good and bad things because that is what people need to know before they spend their hard-earned money and decide to buy it. This jacket is not cheap. My reviews are the same whether it is a big or small company. Quality is important another example is Companion Denim that is a one man operation and the garments are superb in every detail. 🤷♂️
I believe the whole button hole is for a pocket watch chain goes in the hole and hooks and the watch goes in the pocket

Flint and Tinder style and quality are worse unfortunately. I bought and returned it. It just feels cheaper than this one.
Oh! I´m in the process of buying one because I live in the UK is far more expensive due to the tax duty, but a friend who lives in the US is doing it for me.
@@UrbanLadUK understood, its a bit cheaper than the Supply jacket but you can tell the materials and liner are of a cheap quality. The fit is also not very good. Take a look at bradley mountain, I dont like the style as much as the supply jacket however.
@@scootermcgoot another option is Freenote Cloth has the same 10oz but is at the same price tag of RTG. THANKS!!!!
