Has the 13oz gotten a softer, like the olive you're wearing? I have the 13oz for a short time now, but it almost feels like armor.

Size numbers are so confusing. In my world a size 44 (chest) is a large, a 46-48 is an XL and a 50-52 is XXL. A 46R USA suit in EU is called size 56. Someone make it all make sense. Ugh.

If you decide to try some JK boots make sure to follow their sizing because they are vastly different from the other PNW boot brands. I’m an 8.5 Brannock and I wear an 8e in most PNW boots but I went to their store to get measured which was 8-8.5 Brannock, JK said I’m a 6.5eeee in JK.

Cold and cheaply made abroad. Filson uses a cheap, inferior cotton tee shirt like liner. The waxed jacket is clammy when you wear it. Given the exorbitant cost of this jacket, filson should have used a quality light wool liner and lined the pockets as well. You might want to look at their warmer choices - the CPO shirt and or the down insulated waxed shirt jacket. The upside is that while you are cold and clammy wearing this Cruiser, you look good. Smile if you can.

Great video comparison .. personally, I like the Real Mccoy’s version I have the blue version you are featuring and I have the iron heart in khaki . I like the fit on both equally. The buzz rickson sleeves seem long and I don’t like longer sleeves I’d rather not roll them up . With the Real McCoy or Iron heart N1s I dont have to roll them up and the sleeve openings are more tapered on both.. the buzz rickson sleeve opening is a bit wide .

I sold my Real McCoy's and bought an Iron Heart IHM-35 Alpaca-Lined Whipcord N1 Deck Jacket Black/Black, which suits my physique better. Quality and price aside, the best thing is to try them all and choose the one that suits you best. Thanks for the honest review.

Hello, first I would like to thank you for your interesting and informative video. I owe several pears of row denim jeans including LVC Cone mills made in USA. Finally I decided to try Japanese jeans to compare to US ones. After weeks of research I finally choose Denim by WH 224.Your video help me too much. I want to ask you about the sizing compare to LVC STF. All my jeans are W32 and after soak getting a bit tight.Thinking to order W33.

I have 2 of the buzz rickson and the iron-heart, i like the iron-heart fit, i tried the original too, the buzz ricKson and the original are boxy , also kinda itchy coz its lined all the way to the sleeves. The iron-heart wins my heart fit is 10/10 for me , i wear small by the way I am 5”10 -157lbs 39chest🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

At these prices, I would just buy an original from the 1940s or 1950s. I think my one cost like 200 USD, and it looks so much better due to the aging. I'm not sure why anyone would pay more for a reproduction than a real N1 jacket.

I'd like to get an N1 jacket to use on my motorcycle because of its wind resistance, but I'm definitely going to get one that doesn't say USN. The Real McCoy's looks promising.

Thanks for the comparison! I really like my BR heavyweight N1 but I eventually had to resew EVERY button on the front back on. When my attachment jobs started to let go as well I gave up and sewed on a row of slotted buttons like you’ll find on Canadian military parkas, hopefully job done. I think the problem may be twofold: the buttons the jacket comes with are slightly too big for the holes, and they’re sewn on flush to the fabric instead of shanked. My option fixes both of these problems as the slotted buttons are ever so slightly smaller and the tape holding them on has a bit of lift to allow easier insertion.

I have a Bronson that I wouldn’t trade for e of these.

Excellent comparison. The Real McCoys/blue jacket replicates the first version of the N-1 jacket from late 1943. The Buzz Rickson/khaki jacket replicates the later 1944 version. Hence the small differences in some of the details. Buzz Rickson does one version of their khaki N-1 with the heavyweight alpaca/wool lining (this one also has the additional small DEMOTEX tag/label) and a second version w/ thinner/standard alpaca/wool lining - which should fit and feel more similar to the lining in the blue Real McCoys version. The Real McCoys N-1 looks like the quality of the fabrics/lining is slightly better than the Buzz Rickson jacket. However - in my humble opinion - the thicker/looser khaki BR N-1 just looks more 'authentic' (or cooler) to me. I have owned both BR versions over the years - and I kept the khaki/heavweight jacket. You wear them both well! With winter coming, I hope you will have ample opportunity to enjoy them both. Thanks for all your reviews - they have helped me with a good number of buying-decisions in the past. Your efforts are much appreciated.

Really helpful comparison. Would be interested in your thoughts on the Freewheelers N-1, it’s super expensive but considered the best version by some. As a tall slim guy, I find it hard to carry off the short boxy style of the N-1, which is a shame as I love the heritage and style of the jacket
