- Go to countryguitarch... to view the full Mavericks "There Goes My heart", and "All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down" guitar lessons, in addition to many more songs, licks and guitar tips. Available on DVD, download, and in the premium members section. Includes tablature and jam tracks.
This lesson teaches you how to play guitar licks you learned from one song, and use it in another. As you can see, the grooves and tempo of the songs can be totally different, and the lick still sounds great. You should experiment with all you favorite licks and chops. Try improvising solos over a jam track and see what you come up with. It's fun!
Love these lessons. Discovering the fun of country guitar at age 63.

Great videos! Why haven't I seen these before?!? Subscribed!
Your lessons are the best anywhere. Thank you! I am getting ready to order one of your DVD's as we speak. Could you briefly describe your tone in this video? It is amazing.
Thanks Tyler. Gee, I have no idea what I was using when I made this video years ago. But I'm going to quess that it was either my 65 Bassman or my 74 Deluxe Reverb. I'm inclined to think it was the bassman. I love my deluxe, but that bassman tone is just incredible!
Another great lesson . it's time to download your course i want to learn more !

Hola country guitar, me gustaría aprender country contigo aunque no hablo ingles, pero abra una forma de comunicarme a través de la musica,de que ciudad eres,yo vivo poco tiempo en nueva york
👍👍👍
I love your country guitar playing, it isn't all that popular in the UK, unfortunately.
That's too bad, but Thanks!
Anyone know why Ken has what I think is a banjo tuner on his sixth string? Is it quicker to drop it on the fly in a gig? Just curious.
Yes, it's a locking banjo tuner. You'll see them on Marty Stuart's "Clarence" and Waylon's Tele, as well as many other players. It has 2 set screws, allowing you to lock it so it won't turn past your "E' tuning, and the other screw will lock it when you tune down to "D' or what ever pitch you set it to. So I can tune from my E note to the drop D note (and back again) in a split second. I made a video about this, it's called "drop D tuner devise for guitar".
@@CountryGuitarChops Thanks for the quick (and thorough) answer!
Great lick. I'll definitely use it.
What's the deal with the tuner on you're low e string? It looks like it's missing.
It's a locking banjo tuner. It has 2 locking set screws that allow you to set the tuning between your E and drop D with a quick turn of the knob. I've used them for any years and like them alot!
It's a banjo style tuner for doing quick changes between E and D
I am totally stealing this idea!
How do you do that stuff...lol.
Lick sounds like walking in a winter wonderland and I can't I think it
Killlllllerrrrrrr
If I understand it properly this lick fits the chord change V -> IV, right?
No, it's from the 5 to 1 chord, but it could be used as a 1 to 5 lick too.
Aaarrgh! Right! E B is s fifth! :-)
Many thanks Ken! :-)
Barzi2001 ..William walker country lessen
Nope.. it fits over whatever chord (major or 7th) you what, but the progression doesn't change chords while you play the lick. I think you would really enjoy my "Mastering The Fret Board" lesson, which explains using and thinking around chord shapes as you play lead. Go to countryguitarchops.com if your interested. Thanks!
It happened by chance that today I was on your website and I just took the 3 months online lessons thing :)
Thought it was Freddie Mercury in the thumbnail, had to do a double take lol
