    To turn on the illumination on the Sport Chrono, it’s done through the diagnostic machine, takes literally five seconds to activate, then it comes on simultaneously with the dash lights. I’m an ex-Porsche technician. I used to tell my customers of this function and I activated it for free, they loved the way it looked at night.

      OOOOHHHH I like that.... Do you need the legit Porsche software or can my Amazon OBD II reader handle that?

    • @arthurdardalis
      @arthurdardalis Рік тому

      @@themiddlelanelm most “cheap” OBD readers/ scanners don’t have coding functions, so they can’t activate components/functions. The more expensive aftermarket readers/scanners have the coding capability, so they will. Try your Amazon scanner, it might just work. A good aftermarket diagnostic programme is AUTOCOM (I used this to code the Sport Chrono, more often than the official Porsche diagnostic),)which codes and activates (only available for Windows though, not for Mac’s, worse luck). Otherwise, the dealer can do it, as I said once the Porsche diagnostic is connected, it makes a few seconds to activate in the “Sport Chrono” menu.

      @@themiddlelanelm I'm coming in really late on this comment, but you need the high level tool. OBD II is the government mandated standard, then individual car manufacturers have their specific coding. There are aftermarket scan tools that can do the job.

    The best thing about you doing car video's after knowing you from your main channel is how natural it feels, it feels like you've been doing this for ages already

    That dent in on the hood would drive me insane, I would have to have that professionally removed with a PDR specialist. As soon as you mentioned it I can’t unsee it.

    Hey Luke, as a dealer, my software shows for your VIN and 127k miles estimated retail value 17.4k…
    They gotta make money somewhere..
    MMR is 12k (is the max dealer should pay for something like this at the auction or whatever, before fees and shipping)
    So to be honest, 13k cash is EXACTLY where they need to be considering overall decent condition…

    You should keep it as your daily and keep the miles off your other one. Save the value of your other one and one day I’m sure you’ll get your money back one way or another

    I have a Volvo T5 which is at 112,000 miles. This is generally recognised as *barely* run in. But it is a second and a half slower to 60.
    Unless you chip it to Hell. In which case...

    The extra bumpers on US market Caymans look ridiculous and so out of place 😂 Can you not take them off?

    • @malek6129
      @malek6129 Рік тому +1

      Not entirely sure, but they do look part of the main bumper, so I think he’d have to replace it with a normal one instead.

    • @arthurdardalis
      @arthurdardalis Рік тому

      @@malek6129 You can take them off, the bumper will need filling as there are holes left behind and painting. I’m in Europe, ex-Porsche technician, the bumperettes actually protect the bumper from damage in minor parking contact, the US spec bumpers actually have shock absorbers behind to absorb the impact. US spec bumpers comply to 8mph contact without damage, Euro spec bumpers comply to 5mph without damage.

    • @themiddlelanelm
      @themiddlelanelm  Рік тому

      They really do 😩 unfortunately, the actual bumper itself is perforated, so would have to be filled
