This popped up in my feed prolly because I watched your latest board walk-through. This was a year ago? Many would give their left arm for this board, but you have leveled-up your game tremendously in just a year. You're on the cutting edge of tone, my friend.
Subbed! Thanks for the video! Worship leader in Cbus Ohio who recently switched to electric and trying to figure some things out. Really helpful vid man thanks!
You should make those Synesthesia and Microcosm patches available for purchase/download. They sound absolutely incredible, as does the rest of the board. Awesome video dude
What a beautiful rig! Sounds killer! I got the LVX and the Microcosm for my big rig so I can’t wait to put that together soon! I recently got the MC8 for my small rig, and I love it! I wish I got into midi years ago lol!
The Dream and Ruby are out of phase with each other maybe that's why you were having issues. There are pedals that will allow you to adjust the phase and dial them in.
I had a Goodwood Interfacer that helped phase. My issues were more than phasing. The pedals break up at different times, so it was hard to get the pedals sounding good together. Every player is different, but under my hands and how I like things to feel/sound, I couldn't do both!
I’ve used the dream combo with the ruby before but haven’t experienced not being able to match them. Not sure if this would make a difference… but did you know if you run the Ruby and Dream next to each other left to right, they are actually OUT OF PHASE. If you already know this and have flipped the phases then ignore this. Love your board and your tone!! Wish there was more worship guitarists on UA-cam showing off their boards and tones.
yeah, I definitely wrestled with the phasing issues! the problem I had with running both was that they compressed at different levels. by the time the dream broke up, the input compression wasn't happening in the ruby. so my levels were always out of wack.
Great board for what you're going for. Could def get a little more flexibility if you midi'd up the Jackson pedals. Also, One Control make a mini-pedal sized midi-controlled stereo bypass looper that you could use for the fuzz, silvertone, and RV-5. Do that, and HX Snapshot functions are more or less at your fingertips!
Sounds Amazing! tempted now by some Jackson Audio drives. that is the size and brand the pedalboard and the reference of the creation case you are using?
Wonder if you’ll be tempted to go for the Strymon Cloud Burst ☁️ 🤔 Would slot straight in where the Boss pedal is 😂 Really great playing btw! I had the Doozy Fullerton for a while, such a great sounding guitar 👌🏻
I'm super interested in how you'd use some of the stranger loopy stuff from something like the Microcosm in a worship context. I'm all about weirder sounds that make worship music interesting but not distracting.
i think that’s where the filter comes in handy. the microcosm repeats are bright and with the filter wide open it can be pretty intense. but i utilize the filter (which sounds absolutely beautiful, btw) to roll back some of that intensity. helps a ton!
the microcosm has built-in reverbs, and I'm using the ambient algorithm. it sounds so freaking good. I'll use the reverb on its own, but when I'm using the granular stuff, I'll just play around with the reverb mix and delay mixes (usually filtering out some highs on the delays) until I get the result I'm looking for!
sounds great, do you go straight into the PA speakers? I have the UA audio woodrow and my bandmates complained that they wanted a real amp in the room. Do you think I should consider running it through a guitar speaker cabinet?
if you wanted to have the amp in room, i would just buy a floor monitor. since the woodrow already carries the load of the speaker, a monitor would be best.
@@fakejauber Word! You are right, I never looked into them since I always thought they where a mono unit. I assumed they where stereo since so many musicians where running the ruby along with the Dream (etc). Thank you man~
Been loving the Synesthesia as well! Any insight into your VB-2 patch setting wise? I have a VB-2 on the board as well, but if I can even get remotely close it may save me some room. Haven’t been able to dial in the Syn yet. Also that dual Dimension setting sounds amazing too, never thought to just double it up and actually utilize the Synesthesia to its full potential. SMH.
yeah, man! I liked using the record antics (without any warble or noise) algorithm routed into the vibrato algorithm. then I just adjusted rate and depth to taste! the parallel routing is a game changer. I do it with my tremolo patch too and it sounds nuts.
Jake, great sounding board!! Do any of your pedals cover octaves similar to that of any of the Electro-Harmonix POG pedals? If so, can that pedal do low-pass filter similar to the POG2?
@@fakejauber You said what the board and case is 36 minutes into into the vid and I totally missed it the first time. Dig that ambient pad at the end of the video. Nice tone.
The thing you like about Boss seems like the thing that the new Strymon pedal is all about. It came out the day you posted this. They named it the Cloud Burst . They must have been thinking of you as it the same size as your Boss pedal :-)
Hey Jake, hello from your airport chauffeur at the conference in February :) Question for you on the Canvas Stereo (been looking at getting one): Obviously your board is wired stereo, if you ever have to run mono can the Canvas support that? I know it has a mono sum button but from what I read in the manual it made it sound like the mono sum only affected the 1/4" TS "Thru" jacks and didn't affect the XLR jacks. Can you just plug in the left XLR and it runs mono, or do you have to mess with unplugging the right 1/4" TS input to the Canvas or something along those lines? Guessing you don't have to run in mono much (I don't either, but once in a while enough that I'd like to know whether the Canvas can do it without rewiring stuff). Thanks man!

This board is so geometrically pleasing
thank you 🥹
My guy is using the RV-5 in 2023, love it! Such a classic pedal!
it’s just too hard to let go of!
Thanks for putting them all on the board straight.
you're welcome.

Awesome tone! Loved every bit of it! What is your preset on the Ruby? How did you set it up? Would love to see that!
Agreed
such tasteful appointments!
The golden boy is so great. Cornerstone of my board.
it's really amazing, man.
Really dig your approach with delay holding the lion's share. Killer board, bro.
thanks a ton! delay is the best.
You should make those Synesthesia and Microcosm patches available for purchase/download. They sound absolutely incredible, as does the rest of the board. Awesome video dude
thank you! i’m not sure that’s possible with the microcosm, though!

Really nice pedal board. Both functionally and aesthetically
All in favor for Jake to start vlogging like this comment....

What brand and size of pedalboard and road case are you using? Looks perfect for my upcoming build.
It's a PT-3 in a live-in Creation Music Company case. the case is a few years old, so I think you have to custom order this live-in spec!

hey, dude!! the canvas can only sum on the 1/4" outs. if you want a DI/LI box that has summing on the XLR outs, the Pinstripe DISO+ is the way to go!
