Rugdumph’s sword definitely explains why Rugdumph is such a fancy talking guy. I’m sure his sword is just constantly absorbing our speechcraft abilities and giving him all those eloquent words when he speaks to us.
After the Oblivion Crisis, that sword must have either found a new host or released its PRISONER and may be wreaking havoc to the 4th Era people? Living in Nirn is no longer looking pleasant.
@@bannedcommander2932 I had an idea! His speech abilities would match the players intelligence level because it absorbs speech craft. So if the player is really stupid he speaks also like a moron but if the player is really smart then his eloquent words actually start to make sense.
I feel like the merchants in Oblivion should have had their chests lootable like in Morrowind, with a security guard and a required key owned by the shopkeep to get to it. Getting the unique gear would require going down to the basement where it's also personally guarded.
My favorite weapon set is the Umbra doing that quest frustrated me. but i was also new to oblivion in those days but man once i got that set i loved it beat the whole game with it as a heavy warrior build

I really like the Rockshatter. I used to wield that one forever on one of my playthroughs, I just really like the look of the dwarven maces in oblivion and shock damage is simply the best elemental damage type.
Umbra it is everything... Aside from that, Brusef Amelions sword, Chillrend, Ebony blade and Goldbrand are probably the most unique looking weapons in the game. Brusefs armor is a recolored Ebony armor btw.
When I glanced at the thumbnail, for a second I thought your character was holding an umbrella :P Chillrend was always my favorite if these as a kid. As far as I can tell, it's just a retextured glass sword, but it has such a cool design nevertheless. It's also one of the few non-Daedric unique weapons in the game that has a unique model. I'm especially fond of it, as I like to specialize in Blade weapons. One of my first characters was an Argonian pirate who reveled in swashbuckling. When I was playing it back then, I didn't fully understand what "swashbuckling" actually meant, so I fought with swords, didn't use shields (so I just blocked with my sword), and wore regular clothes. I distinctly remember finding a "Quilted Doublet" in a random barrel in the Market District and wearing that for 90% of my playthrough, because I instantly called it a "pirate shirt". Redwave was the first unique weapon I got, and it was my main go-to until I found Chillrend. Chillrend wasn't a cutlass or a rapier or anything, but it looked to cool for me to just ignore it. Fun fact: On one of my relatively recent playthroughs, I played as an Argonian thief as a nod to that old playthrough. He specialized in Invisibility and Sword-fighting. Whenever he was in a ruin occupied by bandits or marauders, he wouldn't kill any of them _except for_ the ringleader/warlord. Because any barbarian or bloodthirsty assassin could wipe out their enemies, but only an _artist_ could steal their stuff, kill their leader, and slip out virtually unscathed. As another nod, I went out of my way to acquire Chillrend, and afterwards my character also specialized in Frost magic. Why? Because he was obsessed with being cool, and if he couldn't be cool figuratively (in my headcanon, he was kind of an idiot), he could at least be cool literally. Edit: I'm gonna give you bonus points for your character's physical appearance. Creating malformed abominations is a rite of passage for any Oblivion player :D
That's an awesome story. I love pirates. May that Argonian lie in Davy Jones Locker!! If you have played Morrowind and want to see something spooky and Ocean related, go to any abandoned ship wreck, go to the very bottom lowest sunken level, and try no clipping out the walls through console commands or fortify speed. You'll see a very scary empty ocean. This probably also works in Oblivion if you find a level with lots of water in it and equip water walk and no clip out. I never tried but in Morrowind it's epic, youll find a private ocean!
I love them, but they really suffer from leveled stats and value. It is a big let down when your legendary artifact is only pulling like 3k at a shop and is getting outscaled by normal loot.
I never been fan of enchanting weapos in oblivion and skyrim. its alwas seen to me like 3-5 fight and all charge's was empty. But i did't realy finish ether one. Lvl scaling. I just never feel like i'm hero or a prisoner that just got away. Always enemies that kind of match your skills as enemy.
@@TheRadexl I agree that it can be hard to get into. For a first playthrough I recommend that you specialise into longsword weaponry, since those are the most common type of weapons and specialising in them will mean a lot less missing.
Yeah, the intense tanky nature of enemies really makes enchanted weapons a chore to use. Unless you feel like duping Varla Stones and carrying a bunch with you at all times it's annoying as heck

I’ve never got that weapon but cuz your comment for sure going to try it 💯
Also it will be weight zero if you dont complete the quest.
Great damage per weigth ratio.
Yeah I grab it on all of my melee characters before I start the main quest. Shock damage is good against Daedra
