Evernote wants to be the best productivity & note-taking app once again. Get Evernote: toolfinder.co/go/evernote
I do love the new speed of development now. I have been trying to look for other alternatives, but somehow I keep returning to Evernote for its feature and simplicity. I hope that when they are done laying out the foundation, they will incorporate new features that make Evernote great again.
This has been an unexpected but very welcome change to the old workhorse Evernote. I'm in too deep to ever quit it. So it's nice to finally see an update that didn't include more bad than good.
Premium user since 2009. Evernote sent me a survey asking what requirements would keep me using Evernote. I listed a local version (gone), keep the web clipper at least as great as it was (half of them are now blank except for the title), being able to get rid of the distractions like widgets on the homepage (now even worse), never losing my notes (not quite as bad as it was maybe), and a reasonable price ( not even close). I can do all the new features more reliably and quickly on Google Keep and Calendar. I don't want or need AI pilfering through my notes. I certainly don't need an app that deigns to decide what's important for me today. So no, I don't see any use case for the new, improved Evernote at one-quarter of the price they're charging. Not that things were good under Ian, either, but I agreed to give Bending Spoons a chance. They're driving me away faster than ever.
I can't imagine ever going back to evernote at the current price.
Price price price 🤤🤤🤤
@@flavio6325 Don't get me wrong. There is more to dislike than just price.
@@firesoul453 Here we see an employee from some company from another notes application. For who you work? Microsoft? Apple? Other?
Almost 200 bucks yeah, they’re 🥜
I'm really appreciating the increased transparency in general about what exactly they're up to. It feels like Evernote has been too quiet for too long. Hopefully things will only get better from here.
I love Evernote and appreciate the new features!
I re-downloaded the app it's looking beautiful... looked at personal plan of $17.00 per month (Australian)... deleted app. I just can't justify the price per month in Australia.
It is 14.99 USD (22.39 Australian dollars) per month. Absolutely insane. Extremely expensive for an app. In fact, it’s more expensive than a lot of streaming services.
It’s more expensive than Adobe 😭
It’s worth it for those that are getting revenue from it from jobs and no for normal note takers.
Their high price is insane for normal note takers.
I think Evernote is the balanced note-taking app between Notion (too complicated and without offline mode), google keep/apple note(too simple without task management) and Craft (good note taking app but no task managements).
After bending spoon speeds up the development, I’m quite satisfied with the change and the operating speed of the app. It’s still the easiest note-taking app for me. Hope bending spoon can keep going like this. Good thing is that they will tell you what’s the next function they are going to launch which provides me something to expect for.
As to the price, I’m in an annual subscription plan when they provide a special discount on the official website quite some time ago. The price is good for me.
Paying option is fine because you have a more reliable app with regular new features because developers are being paid properly.
I'll save you 17 minutes : no
You have to admit that Federico has done more developments for Evernote within a few months compared to Ian within several years
Adding their own calendar is a step in the right direction. The redesign of the app is appreciated. I hope they can build on making Evernote more stable than it is right now.
I reluctantly resubscribed to Evernote a few days ago. I think it does all the note-managing tasks I need, even though none of it is brilliant. I am optimistic that it will continue to get better.
Me too -- FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) -- probably won't sign up for it again -- too many other options out there and I don't even use most of it.
I am actually in the same boat. Did a lot of investigation but when it comes to my n? Ds, Evernote still run with the Crown..
I really like Evernote but since they've nerfed the free version then I will stay away. Been using Notion and I'll stay there. I use Onenote now and then but I don't like the UI and features on Mac (the focus is more towards Windows).
I had already cancelled my renewal in April but was impressed with all the improvements, with a lot of communication and transparency from the team. Made it worth paying for, for me.
This is of course all very good and interesting. But I still don’t understand why I should pay $130 a year?
Honestly, you seem to be quite amazed by the fact that one can create a separate event in Evernote calendar which will not be in your Google Calendar. I personally don't see the point because if I add something in my not taking app's calendar I want to see it reflected on my Google Calendar when I go and have a look at it. Or at least I want to have the option to do so which is not possible at the moment as one can't choose which calendar is adding the event to when creating one in Evernote.
The pricing is a killer for me compared to notion and craft . Won’t be going back to Evernote
How do we not have Due date yet ?
new mobile version..can't even set it up reminder like old version
I am trying to determine what app is best for my 13 year old daughter for School and Dance. For the former, anything more visual is good. For the latter, at a minimum the app must be able to organize videos from her phone. It would be nice if she could markup videos or combine videos, but I realize that is getting into video editing and maybe not worth the time. I assume she will want something that summarizes scholastic content from the web and videos and something that makes flash cards. Again, any app that is visual and can organize videos would be a great help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Still a long way off what I need. Apple pencil capability, export capability. I have an affinity to Evernote. Just want to have ability for pages.
They also introduced collapsible Headings. Very useful and welcome change.
The former owners of Evernote had only one concern: looking good in photos and political circles. They just wanted to use the app to do politics. The current Italian owners realized the mistake of the previous teams and put an end to it. Now Evernote is in good hands, who are thinking about the users and the app, what the app is for.
I can't see the web clipper mentioned? It's by far it's best feature.
I really like the new features. Worth the price.
this looks too perfect! a little UI design does not suite my taste but it does look very very promising
Liking the improvements! Will give them a bit longer - love the charts, styling, and much of the functionality. But AI has to catch up to provide serious help with writing, and they really have to change the file structure for deeper nesting. It gets silly. Come on EN! Rooting for you to catch up and dominate again! :)
They raised their price beyond the value I was receiving. Apple notes for me now.
You should make a video on "how hard it is to cancel an Evernote subscription". First, when one clicks on "Billing", it will create an error page asking to contact customer service (without a link). Then, on customer service, it will ask to fill out a FORM with information you can only get from the "Billing" tab. Infinite loop... It has become the most sketchy piece of software I've ever came across.
Your kidding....had Evernote until they stuck it to me... never again.....😅
There are so many better Knowledge Management tools now. Going back to Evernote feels like a retrograde step.
Nice but no thanks! They will have to keep raising prices in the future, as they keep loosing customers :)
I honestly don't understand their strategy. Isn't it better to earn more money by lowering the price for the personal plan so more people can afford it?
I went back to Evernote. There’s simply no better place to collect everything.
After the current dev took over, Evernote seems to be on a reliable upgrade and development path. Its become my trusty notebook again.
Dont understand why people think a good notebook worth its salt would ever be free. Afe people supposed to do work for free?
Good video. Thx! Evernote’s price is out of reach of most people. I just don’t see the value for $130 USD per year in spite of the improvements that Bending Spoons has made. I would consider it if they had a subscription option $60 USD per year I would consider it.
Too expensive. Way too expensive. They’ll find this out the hard way.
Evernote took a horrible turn. I pay 5 times more for much less than I had 3 years before. It was local, fast, reliable. It is now online, incredibly slow, and lacks basic things like selecting more than 100 notes. I am pissed and disappointed. After 10 years, I feel relieved to be able to take move notes out of Evernote and I am never looking back.
So should I consider importing my notes now? I've been with Evernote since 2017 when I created my first notes this is sad. 🤔😕
i gotta admit evernote def changed for the better this year. they seem to be keeping the promises they made. its got me intrigued but atm im still staying on notion.
I agree with how useful widgets are, but they have taken them away from the Home screen on mobile, so Evernote is no longer my solution for mobile use.
There's a shortcut called "Widgets" that gives access to the previous home and widgets.
@@Baleooto Thanks, but that's still 2 taps to get to where I used to be on opening the app. At the very least the shortcut for Widgets should be on the Home page. Ideally, give us a choice of which home page to load. Meanwhile, Notion is working fine for me.
Works out a $3 per week for me - money well spent, given how much I use it. Like the direction it is going in too ...
There are too many other cheaper options that will do most of the things that Evernote will do.
Good things happening in Evernote!
Waaaay too expensive
Too expensive for me.
Before Bending Spoons took over, people were paying for Evernote when there were too many issues such as syncing problems and extended loading times to open the note. Now that Bending Spoons fixed these core issues and improved the user experience people are saying they dont want to pay at all. Thats crazy!
Evernote is one of the very apps that can handle two languages at once. Notion, Capacities and Heptabase fail.
Yes, every time I open the application there ARE updates!!!!!
They lost my trust. So I won't consider them again, ever!
Why
Evernote is so bad lol
New evernote is best !!!!
