Yellow is the highest visible color to the human eye, so it's yellow as a reminder that it's the spare and should be changed so that you still have a spare when needed

Of course not in ANY of the 5 manuals included but Thank God I have 3 on owner's rights!!!

I’m happy u helped me out this morning. Had a flat and this video was handy. 🙏 thanks. But the factory jack sucks!! Need to size up.
That’s great, glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching and please consider giving the video a thumbs up if you haven’t already! Thank you!
Can you fit a 285/70/70 in the spare tire recess? I sized up and need to buy a larger spare.
Thank you sir!
Thank you for watching! Glad it was helpful! Please consider giving the video a thumbs up if you haven’t already! Thank you!
Thanks this was very helpful. The manual is not very good on this topic. Any time I can’t figure something out I go to UA-cam and vids like yours. Always helps. No idea how you guys find time to make these vids but thanks. I might just add where slot is under car for rods and if tire should go face side up when putting it back under. But was able to figure it out from close inspection of vid. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for watching, I’m glad it was helpful! I enjoy making videos and it’s cool to look back and see how far the channel has come. Please consider giving the video a thumbs up if you haven’t already! Thank you!
I already gave it a thumbs up. I had a great idea for a channel decades ago and that channel is now a reality. For someone else. And she is making millions from it. Good for her. Best of luck.
Someone told me it’s so the owner hates the mismatched colors and gets their types replaced ASAP
That’s the exact reason I was thinking! Thank you for watching!
Very informative
That’s great! I’m glad the video was helpful, please consider giving it a thumbs up if you haven’t already! Thank you!
Thanks for this i wanted to check i wasn't doing anything wrong
That’s great! Thank you for watching!
Thank you so much!! Got a nail in my tire and it won't hold air 😔 onto the spare.
Thank you for watching! I’m glad it was helpful!
It is yellow to identify it that its a spare tire rim.
Yes that and I think that it could be that they paint them this color so that you definitely get a replacement tire or the flat tire fixed so you don’t have to drive around sporting a yellow rim. Thank you for watching!
@@5MinuteFixit yeah
This is great. How do you use the tool to get the center cap off though?
There is a slot in side of the center cap that the flat part of the tool fits into so it can be pried off…hopefully this helps! Thank you for watching and please consider giving the video a thumbs up if you haven’t already! Thank you!
@@5MinuteFixit dude you're awesome for replying in such a short amount of time! I changed my wife's flat last night but left the center piece out. Now I can finish the job. Thanks man.
@@IAmTrueSpirit99 thank you, I try to respond to as many comments or questions as quickly as I can! Thanks again for watching and also check out my other 4Runner maintenance videos if you are interested!
This was a dumb design by Toyota, how would you get to the spare if stuck off-road, or be jacking around with a rusty tire while cars are going 100mph past you, should’ve been on the back tailgate like the FJ.
What a pain in the ass
Unsafe and stupid design of maker of this car ,
What do you consider unsafe with this set up? It it essentially like any other pick up or SUV made by Ford, Chevy, Ram, Nissan, etc. What is unsafe is when car makers don’t give you a spare tire and give you a fix-a-flat kit instead. What happens when you have a tear in the side of your tire? Happened to me this week. (Luckily I was in my home town)You wait to be mugged before the tow truck driver arrives. Now...that is unsafe!
@@BulldogDan1231 ,
I drive a lot , when it get older , mostly tire fell down in road , and it is almost impossible to do it in cold weather in emergency on Hwy .
@@BulldogDan1231 If you’re that worried about getting mugged, ha ha you should carry a weapon
Mine is black ! Hmm
@@ziarehman4421 No its not. You must not drive a lot or have never changed it.
