Wetlands Bulldozed: Coomera Connector 2 Environmental Application Expected Soon

- Опубліковано 24 чер 2024
- I've been closely watching the progress of the Coomera Connector Stage 2 project between the Gold Coast and Brisbane. Original proposals included plans to completely bulldoze sensitive wetlands that were brought to my attention by community members at Eagleby.
After the previous Estimates, meeting Minutes revealed that the Queensland Government wanted to advance the environmental approvals through a secret, non-public pathway rather than what's called a public environment report (PER).
There are still huge environmental impacts from the proposed route, while a suitable alternative is available just a few kilometres away. I'll be watching for the imminent referral that will detail the full extent of these environmental impacts to the Eagleby community.

We are all fed up with all the secret dealings that go one within this less than transparent government!
Thank you Senator Malcolm Roberts
United nations you are full of bulldust!
So many government departments doing very little : for their taxpayer funded salaries.
Lots of gaslighting information from these detailed discussions
The last bloke waving his arms about was aggressive for a reason...to hide corruption.
Who has decided that they can start works early? Can anyone just decide to start work on a project and not get reprimanded? More info needed here as with everything thats currently going on without our knowing. Thank you Mr Roberts for keeping them on their toes.
It ok when it is done fore WEF/UN and Blackrock 2030 bs
Eagleby Wetlands are diverse and are an important example of Coastal Wetlands Senator Roberts came to Eagleby to see for himself why we want to Save our Wetlands floodplain and suburb from the Queensland governments Coomera Connector project
Remember in the 70s, 80s 90s there would be protesters blocking this ,greens and aboriginal groups??
It's amazing how environmental conservation goes out the window when the government feels like it. Net zero bs is more important than people and the environment.
They're public servants not officials.
Paper shredders were invented for a reason
Child labor for lithium mining ... Massive environmental damage from lithium mining activity ... Huge safe disposal costs of spent batteries (that is, for those that don't spontaneously combust) ... Other than that, I don't see a problem!
All they are expert at is ducking and weaving, and dancing around the issue.
Thank you Senator Roberts. 🙏
It was designed and costed as a six lane highway. It’s now costing more with reduced lanes as a 4 lane goat track. Everything government does is a failure
No protesting from the greens or aboriginal groups? $$
@@briananderson7285 no there hasnt been
@@clairetaylor7809 @briananderson7285 Can we concentrate on the issue rather than trying to use it to bash factions? It's a bit like a high school musical really.
@@frogmatt33 Factions need to be called out .
To clear wetlands is against qld veg act for farming same as urban sprawl in Koala habitat but that's ok an blame it again on the farmers
I got in the shit years ago for accidentally knocking a few leaves off a mangrove while doing clem 7 bridge works ,about 2 weeks after being hung drawn and quarted a dirty big excavator ripped those same mangroves out but it was all fine because then they had a piece of paper from the EPA
Divide and rule - it's helps to generate hatred of conservation. Sorry you got hammered - the whole thing is engineered to be a train wreck.
It's the marxist globalist way
Aliens in the room.
To little to late.
@@rodneygillespie9212 6 years the Eagleby Community and Wetlands Group has lobbied
A lot of big words to do whatever they want over this, and I don't see how any of it will be of benefit to ease traffic. Just give the service roads an upgrade to keep local traffic off the main highway, no thought was put into that when it was designed back then. And reduce the onramps after, most don't know how to merge properly.
No Aboriginals complaining?
$$$ and land
Why aren't the greens complaining?
@@jenzag7621 no there isnt
What kind of comment is this? Are you asking? Or accusing? What are you trying to get at? This is an issue of conservation - why are you trying to bring in Race? FFS
@@briananderson7285 exactly We have talked to them but no support
The problem with public servants making decisions on planning is they risk there future careers moves when making a poor planning decision .
In every government body of every level consultants are employed to make these decisions. This costs time and makes a simple project costly.
The answer would be to give immunity to public servants. This would give a massive productivity boost to the economy and free up this slow wheel of progress. It would also reduce expenses on all projects.
The alternative would be to take all decisions away from government bodies and place it in the professional public sector with secondary auditors.
So you want to give "immunity" to the likes of that bloke who states that it is he that "dictates" the planning decisions... No - Legislation SHOULD dictate the decision, and for that reason the idea of granting public servants immunity is reckless and absurd.
- I pointed out these over paid public servants don’t do anything, and there jobs of building should be left to efficient private individuals outside the government.- nothing you said.
@@rethinkscience8454 Hmmm. I am perfectly aware of what you are saying.... We all know what happens when decisions are left to the private sector - it may as well be known as the "privateer" sector. The solution is to make gov. transparent and accountable. That is something we can't make private operators do. Your "solution" only hands more power and money to you - no thanks. I'd prefer repairing the political system. But thanks for the offer.

@@t-dog8528 that's right - are you Roberts? The rest of us have been for decades pursuing justice in environmental considerations everywhere.

take that on gaslight
Forget climate change nonsense we need action on environmental pollution .. pollution including safe guarding wetlands is the item we should be tackling … it’s a no brainer …net zero doesn’t tackle pollution …pollution is the enemy we need to be tackling …
Mouthpieces more like it, spreading their coverup garbage and not answering questions that are asked without taking on notice most of the time. Labor giving out notes on how to not answer questions in these hearings.
