@@TheMightyAbs yeh good point but i dunno how is govt generating affordable housing solutions metro and regional. Average wage earners do not meet the basic requirement
He's composed himself, unlike the banshee insisting on irrational dominance. She's a disgrace
@@TheMightyAbs yes, good point
The blind leading the blind. How pitiful this lot is
I can't stand that Gallagher woman since she started accusing another senator of "mansplaining" in the senate. The hypocrite got served.
Hostile witness
Insanity . We bring in 600,000 imigrants yet we only build 100,000 houses a year . We do this because our INFRASTRUCTURES cant handle anymore than that on all our grids . All our infrastructures falling to bits and cant cope with what we have now . Let alone all of the immmigrants putting pressure on our system with them and Australians fighting to rent a house . Then the gov's spending money like they dont care and we are all heading for economy hard times . 3rd world country aus is becoming but a VERY expensive 3rd world country .
Skeletor strikes again!!! What a waste o space...
New money from Chinese and Indian migrants are put first.
I'm desperately trying to buy a house in an ever increasing property market and keep being beaten by Indian investors. It's killing me. What do I have to look forward to? I lost everything in a divorce from my very rich ex husband who paid to make it look like he owned and earned nothing. Left me to raise our two children by myself on my own wage. I couldn't save a penny at the time. Now they've flown the nest I could have afforded to save a deposit but injury and inflation have made it impossible to get back on the property market. I'm eligible for zero help from the government. Looks like I'll forevermore be stuck in a 3 month cycle of rental home inspections when I can't even hang a picture of my children on the wall, paying my hard earned cash to an indian investor who whips the money straight of our economy... There's very little to live for for battling Aussies anymore.
@@47angel47 Sorry to hear that.Unfortunately Australia is not the only Country in the same position. I’m in Adelaide and we have not been over run yet. Thinking outside the square giving up some privacy and share a house and rent could be considered. I would like to see how many Australians like myself live in a 3 bedroom house on there own?
Having a corporation monopoly on housing ownership doesn’t provide “affordable housing” it provides the opportunity for price gouging. Labor is facilitating the rise in rents and house prices to the point that most Australians will be living in tents.
Almost sounds like a conspiracy to raise the value on their own properties. That couldn't be true though, could it?
I see a government that is not interested in helping Australian citizens. I see a government that has sold out Australia and it's resources. This is the problem, as a politician i expect you to work for the Australian citizens and to help Australia. Yes, as a government that is your job. Obviously you cannot do your job because of the two party system and your inability to put Australia and it's citizens first. Lets make a law that unless you are an Australian citizen you can not own land in Australia. Works in many countries. Politicians are scum, only interested in lining their own pockets.
Clearly wef puppets, ‘you’ll own nothing and be happy’
Geez old Wrinklestiltskin must be a hoot at parties. What an absolute dog of a thing.

how about you attack the content of her words and argument instead of resorting to worthless name calling?
@@TheMightyAbs Cope harder.
@TheMightyAbs the content of her words reflects a bad character. She's a politician, she undertook "public service", we have every right to judge her character.
Every single person in that room owns one or more properties yet they get to make the decisions on who gets to own property.
It'll be more affordable housing to immigrants, not Aussies..
Those houses will be filled before they are even built.
When is someone going to tell the Government, that Real Australians should be getting the Housing before any Immigrants.
How dare you ask questions?! This woman is a disgrace, i despise her! What a typical disgrace!!! Politicians questioning and investigating Politicians is exactly like police investing and questioning police, don't expect to get any clarity. The greatest example of the death of accountability... acting like they are doing their best and doing right by Australians is the modo, never admit, never tell the truth, just lie and deceive at all costs... then have the audacity to call Australians who have had enough and call you out conspiracy theorists or far right!!? Not far right, simply, and mostly right by way of fact!!!🤫🙈🤡🙉🤡🙊
This bloody woman is just cruel.
Why do people want to access their super?
Because it’s their super. Classic.
This stumped incompetent Gallagher.
Labor doesn’t like to be questioned. Katy G showed her contempt to transparency. Not surprising she’s a bully.
Seriously, is this the best Australia has to offer, these people are so far removed from reality, it is just not funny anymore
Thanks to institutional investors like Black Rock, the house prices are jacked out of reach for young people.
Why should Australians pay taxes for so you were not allowed to have our own private property then we're not paying taxes
We need policy that strongly supports first home buyers and dissuades investment in property by things like funds. Otherwise Blackrock and Vanguard will own half the bloody country and we’ll be wage slaves forever
I have never ever met such a rude senator when people are speaking. What a smar…..

@@iamianjb no. they were spot on points. perhaps you did not understand the resposnes.
This govt is not transparent at all. It cannot even answer a simple question!
I hope the voters within the electorate held by Gallagher decide to "review" their choice of candidate before the next election, just based on the "performance" and attitude brought against anyone who dares to do their job and ASKS QUESTIONS of an incompetent Government...how dare they.
neither party wants aussies owning homes... none of them are lobbying to get rid of negative gearing and imposing limit on commercial and residential real estate per person and banning corporations as well as foreign nationals from owning properties.
if australians are limited to own 1 residential and 1 commercial property get rid of any potential loop hole. no tax incentives to keep an additional property but penalties. then problem solved no more shortage.
if you start taxing big natural resource corpos even better. we export more than qatar but somehow our economy's a mess
Of COURSE politicians would be exempt.
She really needs to be investigated!
Great to see Gallagher is still as insufferable as ever. And it's her that goes on about 'mansplaining'.

Her name is Cunty Gallagher
Katy Karen Gallagher
Housing Australia. Synonymous with failure.
No Corporate housing. Private institution should NOT, NOT own housing. The government is the only institution to own housing. And NOT foreigners of any type.
This video should be Labour/liberal don't want citizens owning homes
Her definition of “ affordable housing” is code for 15 min slum cities, ummm no thanks!
That crew at the table are the very reason the country has become a cesspool.
Arrogant, indifferent, insolent, obfuscatory, practiced liars.
They have no soul
Oh, have they been taking Lessons from Canada's Justin Trudeau and Crystia Freeland.??
This is where the 30 million dollars has been washed and not one house built
That's one toxic corporate drone! Whatever soul she may have once possessed was sold long ago. Look on the bright side, someone is married to her, and it's not any of us! Praise God!
This comment made me laugh out loud! 😂
I hate parasitic politicians….
All govt would have to do is stand aside and people would build more houses....so they limit the amount that can be built, then print up a fuck tonne of money to hand over to their billionaire mates to build more in years to come. 🤦♂️ amazing that nobody can see the problem with having to beg govt for permission to build a house on land you apparently own.
Anecdote - A builder told us that 25% of the cost of building a house (QLD) is government charges/taxes (including local government) - disgraceful, under the current circumstances.
None of these people will do anything to help you and no political party will help you in anyway
So she didn’t answer the question about whether she is happy about rich institutions owning these houses?
Very dismissive looks on her face is that pure arrogance
As long as the ALP is happy, that's the main thing, the 26 million non-ALP populace will just need to take a teaspoon of cement!
Do I smell Blackrock?
Gallagher, the original Mean Girl. Imagine getting on the wrong side of her?
Katy, attaches rubbish to the bills, that no moderate centre right person could support, so her attack on blocking expencive rubbish is and supply to unions is mute.
Australians are missing the point, its seems, when I look at the comments. If institutions build or own houses. This creates more rentals, not more home owners. This means higher pricing for houses in the long run and more money to the rich. He is 100% right the average Australian needs those subsidies, not massive greedy institutions, whom are already wealthy and whose major share holders already own huge houses.
Did people vote for that woman?
By the way, "Funneling super $ into housing will further inflate the housing bubble" is a clear admission that this Labor parties policies have CREATED A HOUSING MESS.
ask katie how many houses she will end up with
These people don’t even understand how much they treat us with contempt.
The people don’t want to defend them and the country.
Good job senator !! God bless you
Time to update some legislation
The comments here calling Gallagher rude and nasty miss the whole point that Australia’s young people are locked out of housing unless they have rich parents. Who gives a sh$t if someone’s nasty. Give me someone nasty who has the courage to tell Australians the truth about our housing Ponzi scheme. When houses prices have risen at more than three times that of wages and governments spend $20 Billion annually subsidising people buying their first, second, third … investment home what did we think would happen? Stop subsidising the wealthy and start letting first home buyers write off the interest on their mortgages against their income. Neither of the two major parties have an interest in seeing housing become more affordable - they are conflicted by their own housing investments.
SA just dropped Stamp Duty on all New homes for first home owners
Gallagher is a Karen
These people thoroughly disgust me. Im ashamed that this is what we have as our representatives 😥
The government no matter which side , Dont want aussies to own ANYTHING🤡🤡
That's what it looks like 😮😮,
Preferably Blackrock, Vanguard and State Street. Why do you think Titles gave gone digital and possibly sold off and unrealised gains tax. You will own nothing and be happy by 2030 is my guess.
