I tried this and my line wouldn't come off the reel smooth enough to be effective... It would slow the arrow down and cause it too fly out of control.. What am I doing wrong?
You will loose some arrow speed but it should fly straight. Make sure your line is wrapped evenly and not too tight. If you used a piece of metal to keep the string in place make sure it’s not too stiff to hold it back when the arrow is shot or catching the string as it goes by. I’m sure you already checked all that but without seeing it I can’t tell. I hope you get it figured out. Good luck
Rare build; nice work. We shared this video on our homemade tools forum this week 😎
Fun stuff 👍🏻
I still use one of the original AMS bottle retrievers that are made of metal. Hard to beat it.
Great video
I haven’t looked but do they still make the metal ones? I would like that better than the plastic.
@@Makingitwild I believe so, but I know Muzzy makes one now that is supposedly more durable and they are like $65 🤷♂️
I like it, I plan to try bow fishing before long hopefully. Maybe when this drought ends it will be better.
It’s a lot of fun. You have some good gar fishing. They are harder to hit but it’s a blast. Something to do in the off season.
