My man says he'll never paint like the masters and proceeds to create a carbon copy of the original work

I love this! I want to paint an icon...but as you did this one, in oil. I just love this painting with the rosey cheeks and cooler gray color of the neck. Your blending is so soft and smooth. Your English is really pretty good and the content is taught very understandable and thoughtful for your students! Good work and I thank you!

Did he use only acrylic or he used oil colors on an acrylic base?

Hi, Antonio, nice to see you back! About distractions, there must have been some in the past, too. There is an anecdote about Filippo Lippi having to be locked in a room by his patron Cosimo de Medici, so he would paint instead of party (he would escape through the window instead). Caravaggio was known for focusing on his painting for about two weeks, then swagger for a month or two, from tavern to tavern. Delacroix said that in his youth he had to force himself to paint during the day and only the self-promise that he would go to a ballroom by the evening would keep him at it. Maybe most of the painters will be dead serious about their work though because otherwise they would have faced famine.
