And the only difference between a neutral run and this scene triggering is your date with Alphys and the True Lab discovery. _The only reason she shows up in time is that you kept yourself busy._ So, imagine if you will, Toriel rushing to the castle on a neutral run... Toriel arriving at the castle too late. Toriel finding nothing but empty soul jars and a pile of dust surrounded by Asgore's armor.

I would have been quite content to stay in the Ruins. I knew I would miss her if I left, and didn't want to leave her all alone again and feeling responsible for whatever misfortune might befall me, nor did I feel particularly compelled to leave. The only reason I did was that it would feel weird to just quit the game before it had really started.

What this song reminds me of is old friends. Those friends that you try reconnecting with but you know deep inside that what you had back in "the good old days" is gone. It's not something to be sad about it just means you've grown up. You've matured. There is no point hanging onto those old memories when there is a whole world out there where you can make new ones. But it is always good to reminisce about the memories. To revisit. There truly isn't another game as beautiful as Undertale.

this is has got to be one of my favourite songs in the soundtrack, it is unofficially Toriel's theme and it shows wholeheartedly through every aspect of this brilliantly written piece of music. The song manages to induce a melancholic mix of hopeful happiness and sadness at the same time, and that has always been what Toriel is as a character. Sad but hopeful and almost lonely. The song allows empathy for the character and shows the way she sees the events of the game.
I'll be totally honest, I hate my family so much that I don't feel anything towards them anymore, and everytime I can't stand them anymore I listen to this, convincing myself that I have an actual mom that loves me I cry knowing that I can't have someone like Toriel to call "mom" without any feeling of disgust

A new game had just dropped into the stores, a peculiar one by the title of simply “Undertale”. You decided why not give it a try, and got it, playing it whenever you got the chance. You laughed, had a fun time, and overall enjoyed the game, becoming enamoured with the characters within this strange game, until eventually you got bored with it and it sat there in your files, collecting dust so to speak. Finally, after five years you come back to that once strange game, booting it up again and seeing that oh so familiar loading screen. You play through the game again, and feel all those feelings from years back rush over you like a tidal wave, and you cry, as that same purple-clad goat lady saves you form the flower. This is Undertale. This game has brought genuine tears to my eyes, and this music brought all those warm, happy feelings back. From first meeting Sans and Papyrus’ wacky antics to befriending Undyne and helping her find her love. All of it was a joy to experience and an emotional roller coaster. I can’t say I disliked any of it at all.

Gosh, I remembered smiling so much at this scene. When I heard a familiar tune, I was so joyous to see my goat-mommy again. As the scene (and this music) went on, more and more of my friends I had made showed up, apparently trying to stop the fighting. When the peppy part of the reprisal kicked in, I felt warmth in my heart. To see all my friends here just chatting along made me feel at home. When Toriel said that "I would have a wonderful time here," I didn't doubt her one bit on that. :)
The saddest thing in Undertale? The fact that I can't save Asriel? Nope. It's not the saddest thing. The fact that Gaster fell into the void and wasn't freed? Nope. It's not. The fact that Chara and Asriel died? No. It isn't. The fact that Sans has nothing to do with his life? No. It is not. The saddest thing in Undetale? Thinking how happy Toriel and Asgore were together, that they loved each other, that they were perfect to each other, and how Toriel then just left Asgore. That is the saddest thing in Undertale.

My older sister got a job at Clare's. It was at a different Walmart. A Walmart at a different road. I discovered Undertale before I started 8th grade and a few days after starting 8th grade, she got the job. I felt pretty uncomfortable and unsafe at the different Walmart, but I listened to this because I loved it. Listening to it again right now after my 8th grade year ended makes me feel like Toriel actually came with me to keep me comfortable. I already feel nostalgic. I can hear the Dreemur family singing this together. The main melody is Chara and Asriel, the higher one Chara, the lower one Asriel. The harmony is Toriel and Asgore, Toriel being the soft, ambient sort of sound and Asgore being the bass behind it all. I love this song, and I can just see them all singing this as they go about doing whatever in their home.

While everyone goes and cheers on for the boss battle themes and claiming those themes are the best, I will remain as someone who will choose this song as my favourite. I feel like it's an underrated soundtrack that deserves more love. This song is just like on of those things I have - where I love it without a real reason why. It's just so peaceful and motherly and just a wondrous piece of music, and it makes me feel just at home. A trait I have is actually being motherly and caring for whoever/whatever I have to the best of care, whether it'd be that budgie I got a few weeks ago or even my friends. You can't tell that I'm being motherly, but you can kinda feel it.
I started playing undertale again this year, starting out with the usual pacifist and neutral runs, and then genocide. Over this time, I realized I started to care less for these characters since I already knew what was going to happen. I started doing genocide over and over since it was the only mode that gave me a challenge, which too somehow got too easy and boring. Then I realized, *I had done exactly what flowey has done.* The only difference being that I (might) have a soul.
on my last birthday i spent half the day bombing a horribly written midterm from one of my worst professors ever and the other half struggling with a 20-page lab report due in 3 days. on top of that i was also breaking out with acne for the first time since high school and dealing with a massive canker sore in the worst possible spot on my gums where my lips would always be touching it. i still live at home for college as a commuter so i couldn't even drive to campus and spend time with my friends without getting even further behind on my workload. but then once i finally hit a stopping point i played this on loop in one earbud as my parents spent the whole evening spoiling me with pizza and presents and one of the sweetest birthday cards i've ever read while we played my favorite card game and our dog slept on my feet. given that this track plays during frisk's reunion with toriel it really cheered me up and turned one of my worst birthday afternoons into one of my quietest but best birthday evenings, thank you toby fox❤❤
I couldn't enjoy this game as I'd watch it multiple times on UA-cam as a kid but it still brings me back to the good times. 2015 is definitely up there in the years of 2010. 2018 is when things definitely started going downhill. At least 2022 has been great. Fuck this is cheesy but damn. good times. I hope if you've read this comment, that you can be the best you can be. When things get tough it's ok to take a break or ask for help or fuck it, even crying is fine. Just do what you want to do and be a good person. Leaving Toriel was legit one of the hardest moments in the game for me. I kept on calling her hoping she would pick up, but she never did. The thought of her being so alone and saying goodbye to seven children, while being divorced was so heartbreaking to me. When she stopped the Asgore fight, I cried. I thought she would never come back for me. It didn't help with such emotional music and every boss monster meeting Toriel. It was such an emotional rollercoaster. In Undertale, there should be an ending that closes the book completely, or what i call, "The one true ending". Basically, every character is happy in each of their own ways. Asgore and toriel get back together, flowey becomes asriel again, Frisk gets to leave the underground, Sans becomes a hit comedian at grillbys, Papyrus joins the royal guard, Monster kid becomes best friends with undyne, Alphys gets to meet mew mew kissy cutie in real life, Temmie graduates from College, and every monster gets to live in peace with the humans. Oh, and the greater dog, lesser dog, and annoying dog get owners, And every other monster gets to do their thing. And W. D. Gaster becomes normal and works as the royal scientist with alphys.
This song actually drives me to tears. Seeing such a caring and warm mother reminds me of what I never had growing up. My mother never cared for me as a child and then denounced me when I came out as gay. This song embodies exactly who it was made for, and I love it

I would have been quite content to stay in the Ruins. I knew I would miss her if I left, and didn't want to leave her all alone again and feeling responsible for whatever misfortune might befall me, nor did I feel particularly compelled to leave. The only reason I did was that it would feel weird to just quit the game before it had really started.

What this song reminds me of is old friends. Those friends that you try reconnecting with but you know deep inside that what you had back in "the good old days" is gone. It's not something to be sad about it just means you've grown up. You've matured. There is no point hanging onto those old memories when there is a whole world out there where you can make new ones. this is has got to be one of my favourite songs in the soundtrack, it is unofficially Toriel's theme and it shows wholeheartedly through every aspect of this brilliantly written piece of music. The song manages to induce a melancholic mix of hopeful happiness and sadness at the same time, and that has always been what Toriel is as a character. Sad but hopeful and almost lonely. The song allows empathy for the character and shows the way she sees the events of the game.

A new game had just dropped into the stores, a peculiar one by the title of simply “Undertale”. You decided why not give it a try, and got it, playing it whenever you got the chance. You laughed, had a fun time, and overall enjoyed the game, becoming enamoured with the characters within this strange game, until eventually you got bored with it and it sat there in your files, collecting dust so to speak. Finally, after five years you come back to that once strange game, booting it up again and seeing that oh so familiar loading screen. You play through the game again, and feel all those feelings from years back rush over you like a tidal wave, and you cry, as that same purple-clad goat lady saves you form the flower. This is Undertale.
This game has brought genuine tears to my eyes, and this music brought all those warm, happy feelings back. From first meeting Sans and Papyrus’ wacky antics to befriending Undyne and helping her find her love. All of it was a joy to experience and an emotional roller coaster. I can’t say I disliked any of it at all.

Gosh, I remembered smiling so much at this scene. When I heard a familiar tune, I was so joyous to see my goat-mommy again. As the scene (and this music) went on, more and more of my friends I had made showed up, apparently trying to stop the fighting. When the peppy part of the reprisal kicked in, I felt warmth in my heart. To see all my friends here just chatting along made me feel at home. When Toriel said that "I would have a wonderful time here," I didn't doubt her one bit on that. :)

I can hear the Dreemur family singing this together. The main melody is Chara and Asriel, the higher one Chara, the lower one Asriel. The harmony is Toriel and Asgore, Toriel being the soft, ambient sort of sound and Asgore being the bass behind it all. I love this song, and I can just see them all singing this as they go about doing whatever in their home.
I felt like this game was my childhood.

While everyone goes and cheers on for the boss battle themes and claiming those themes are the best, I will remain as someone who will choose this song as my favourite. I feel like it's an underrated soundtrack that deserves more love.
This song is just like on of those things I have - where I love it without a real reason why. It's just so peaceful and motherly and just a wondrous piece of music, and it makes me feel just at home.
A trait I have is actually being motherly and caring for whoever/whatever I have to the best of care, whether it'd be that budgie I got a few weeks ago or even my friends. You can't tell that I'm being motherly, but you can kinda feel it.
This really sounds like something straight out of Earthbound. It feels so... warm and sincere.

I started playing undertale again this year, starting out with the usual pacifist and neutral runs, and then genocide. Over this time, I realized I started to care less for these characters since I already knew what was going to happen. I started doing genocide over and over since it was the only mode that gave me a challenge, which too somehow got too easy and boring. Then I realized, *I had done exactly what flowey has done.*
The only difference being that I (might) have a soul.

on my last birthday i spent half the day bombing a horribly written midterm from one of my worst professors ever and the other half struggling with a 20-page lab report due in 3 days. on top of that i was also breaking out with acne for the first time since high school and dealing with a massive canker sore in the worst possible spot on my gums where my lips would always be touching it. i still live at home for college as a commuter so i couldn't even drive to campus and spend time with my friends without getting even further behind on my workload. but then once i finally hit a stopping point i played this on loop in one earbud as my parents spent the whole evening spoiling me with pizza and presents and one of the sweetest birthday cards i've ever read while we played my favorite card game and our dog slept on my feet. given that this track plays during frisk's reunion with toriel it really cheered me up and turned one of my worst birthday afternoons into one of my quietest but best birthday evenings, thank you toby fox❤❤

I couldn't enjoy this game as I'd watch it multiple times on UA-cam as a kid but it still brings me back to the good times. 2015 is definitely up there in the years of 2010. 2018 is when things definitely started going downhill. At least 2022 has been great. Fuck this is cheesy but damn. good times. I hope if you've read this comment, that you can be the best you can be. When things get tough it's ok to take a break or ask for help or fuck it, even crying is fine. Just do what you want to do and be a good person.

Leaving Toriel was legit one of the hardest moments in the game for me. I kept on calling her hoping she would pick up, but she never did. The thought of her being so alone and saying goodbye to seven children, while being divorced was so heartbreaking to me.
When she stopped the Asgore fight, I cried. I thought she would never come back for me. It didn't help with such emotional music and every boss monster meeting Toriel. It was such an emotional rollercoaster. That moment was easily my favorite part of the game. God, the scene fucked me up. :')

In Undertale, there should be an ending that closes the book completely, or what i call, "The one true ending".
Basically, every character is happy in each of their own ways. Asgore and toriel get back together, flowey becomes asriel again, Frisk gets to leave the underground, Sans becomes a hit comedian at grillbys, Papyrus joins the royal guard, Monster kid becomes best friends with undyne, Alphys gets to meet mew mew kissy cutie in real life, Temmie graduates from College, and every monster gets to live in peace with the humans. Oh, and the greater dog, lesser dog, and annoying dog get owners, And every other monster gets to do their thing. And W. D. Gaster becomes normal and works as the royal scientist with alphys.

I just can't forget the big hug from Toriel. I almost cried when she hugged me.
This song actually drives me to tears. Seeing such a caring and warm mother reminds me of what I never had growing up. My mother never cared for me as a child and then denounced me when I came out as gay. This song embodies exactly who it was made for, and I love it
