I think Faurés piano music is grossly underrated. He sort of fell in the shadow of the "cool" modernist brutalism, so now only his great requiem is remembered (broadly speaking). The melodic lines of these nocturnes (and the etudes also) are just exceptionally beautiful - and still within the tonal thoroughfare! There are a few of these masters of great melodic themes, like Prokofiev and Puccini, and Fauré is up there with them, but is somehow not revered equally. (Another "forgotten" melody maker is Mascagni, but that's another story ...). But: I think you're interpretation is spot on. Love it. Grazie tanto. Najlepša hvala

I remember having a hard time with nocturne no.1 and being shocked when I realize there were dozens of bars of hands crossing plus an endless amount of details to get right just for the result to make sense. This seems way worse. Magnificent!
