- When trials and tests come, how do you react? Do you become selfish and scared, or do you face the challenges with patience, faith, and love for others? How you react could change your life and the lives of those around you, for better or worse.
Elder James B. Martino taught, “In our trials, let us not become bitter or uncommitted, but let us follow the Savior’s example of becoming more earnest, more sincere, and more faithful. ... Let us not complain, … let us serve others, and let us forgive one another. As we do this, all things will work together for good to us that love God.”

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
That moment when your name is actually Matthew and this video hits you right in the soul. How thankful I am for this
I needed this so much. I was feeling so lost and alone, and I was blaming my parents, especially my father for everything. He's given so much pain... it's so hard to forgive. I felt so alone, then I felt impressed to check the mormon channel, and I immediately clicked on this video... Heavenly Father really does answer prayers. I can't even describe how amazing this is to me.
+katanacutie If you haven't seen this video, its worth it. Just incredible. www.lds.org/media-library/video/2010-07-14-forgiveness-my-burden-was-made-light?lang=eng
I’m so grateful…because I know He lives!
God will bless you
Cut to the core right now. Ironically, and not to my credit, my first thought was how much other people needed to see this. Then the irony of that thought hit me. I really needed this.
me too
I believe it was a wise and deliberate choice of the artists responsible for this piece who chose to have the “dad” or Father spoken to for advice be accessed only by phone. This seems that it could be a symbol for prayer to and revelation from our Heavenly Father.
I love symbolism in both art and the gospel. When they are combined, it is especially significant.
I really needed this right now.
+clidelivingston Hope all is well now with you, greetings from Australia...
+clidelivingston I will pray very hard for both, this video is the answer I asked to my Heavenly Father few hours ago outside the Temple. I know in my heart He love us. Today at Church I learned to be grateful for our trials .... is not easy right? but at the end He is reserving the best for us, Pray always and follow Him. You will be ok. Greetings from Utah.
+clidelivingston I did as well. Hope you're doing well.
No I'm not. But I still praying. Is the only way I know I get my answers. Have a nice weekend !
This is easily one of my favorite things the church has ever produced. I love the formatting, I love the message and how it's conveyed. It's so creative and well executed. I've watched it many times, and will continue to do so as long as I can 🙏
we all feel lost at a point, there's this feeling of being lost, but as we place the savior at the center of our lives our lives takes another turn and meaning
I love this! Like a phone call home, we can reach out to our Heavenly Father in prayer and He will answer, prodding us to be better and reassuring us that all will be well.
You look around and see everything around you, but looking at a reflection, you see everything with you.
"let us not become bitter" - I loved the video, thanks from Brazil.
by far one of my favorite Mormon Messages. Just when I thought they couldnt get any better!
we all face challenges and trials and we felt no courage to do something, we have fear that you might feel embarrassed or someone harassed you for a mistake and feel like no ones here for you, but the lord is here for you and want to help you become good and go to the right path, Jesus want you to do good but also don't feel embarrassed of doing something and have faith on doing it even though you do not feel confident, Jesus promise that I'll be aright that it's okay to do it and want you do good and try to do the best you can to help, amen
This hits home more than I wish. I want to encourage my kids to look outside themselves, It's a hard thing to teach.
+Sarah Hatch Example is the teaching.
This amplifies President Monsons rallying cry: *Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved*
I needed this. This past week I was rear ended as I was driving home from work and then, a couple days later, the girl I was dating told me she didn't want to see me anymore which broke my heart.
I went to church the following day still saddened and sat through Sunday school. I was SO touched by the Spirit and knew that the lesson was just for me, but when this video was shown at the very end of the lesson I sat there in the middle of the class in awe and sobbed as I FELT the Love of God.
John 3:16
"Maybe it takes looking outside of yourself." -Heavenly Father speaking to me.
well..I don't mean to be rude. I love the fact that you were able to feel something I never felt at church. but isn't that just a bit unhealthy to rely on god for happiness and wisdom? wouldn't it be better to know and understand you should be a good person regardless of stuff like that, to understand you don't need to be religious in order to be a good humble person.
If I were a good person without God, I would feel grateful he was already inside of me without my knowing it. Don't put out other people's fires because you're warm.
I love these comments. Everyone needs to reflect on meaningful everyday actions that may or may not lead you to eternal progress.
I just reflected about reflecting. It was like a reflection inception.
I love the idea of looking outside of ourselves. The Savior is a prime example of that. I hope to emulate him in all that I say and do, keeping in mind the most important things in life. Besides, there's so much more to us than what we see in the mirror.
This recipe really does work! I think you immediately feel better serving someone because it's a core principle of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
That was different. Glad to see lots of talented people working with the church.
This one always tugs at my heart strings. Especially when he makes up, and changes for the better. Guys, there is always hope in the darkest moments, it's never to late to change and repent 🙂
It took me forever to find this video.
It used to touch me in a sad way. But now, I smile. In some way it helps me remember that having a soft heart and applying the word of god will surely lead us down a good path 😊
Jesus loves you! God bless! Amen!
What a touching message. Thank you.
Made me cry, I could feel the spirit so strong
Shared this for family night!!💕💕
One of my absolute favorite videos.
Provide food to the family is complicated thank you so much for this message I will spend more time with my family.
Oh great now I'm crying I didn't realize I needed to recognize this issue in my own life. Very good message.
Wow. I am very grateful for the video's and the quality and the practical applications of them. I pray the Lord continues to lead you in this way. I am aspiring the same
What a beautiful and powerful message! There is a Father that is always "still there," listening, loving, and seeking to turn our eyes and hearts outward - beyond our own reflection to the people we can reach out to in love. Trials turn to triumph, stumbling stones turn to stepping stones - only through Him! #headofthecorner
Oh I so needed this right now.
Nice work Austin and Wren! Such a good message - it's never too late to change and start doing things the right way!
Another Mormon video masterpiece!
In our trials, let us not become bitter or uncommitted, but let us follow
the Savior’s example of becoming more earnest, more sincere, and more
faithful.
As we pass through the trials of life, let us keep an eternal perspective,
let us not complain, let us become even more prayerful, let us serve others,
and let us forgive one another. As we do this, “all things will work
together for good to us that love God.” -James B. Martino
I am so grateful for this message. I relate very well to the man, and this is a wake up call. Thank you so much for producing this!
See yourself through God's eyes.
Loved being in this film!
Me too ☺️
Me too! Nice little reminiscing. Great message and memories. ; )
Great message. It's important, though, to remember that being a good person should be above what gods you worship. Being a kind, thoughtful, selfless person is the most important thing in this world, regardless of how you identify yourself. That's the beauty of humanity, not of religion.
This was a powerful message. I reflected on it often on my mission, We can become so Myopic that we loss sight of it being us ourselves that needs the most change. This is what is the most in our power to influence, myself.
I felt like that how Heavenly Father is toward us
Needed this today...
This is a powerful message. Thank you for showing both sides of what could be.

Wow, great video! Sometime all we need to do is look at the outside to see what is really on the inside
Amazing.
Was that a lemon red? ;) Thanks for this beautiful message. Looking outward always makes us feel better about ourselves. It makes us better selves.
wow this was amazing. Really touched me.
Does anyone know the piano music to this? I would REALLY love to learn it. Please, can anyone tell me the sheet music?
Amazing!
Fantastic!
Wow.
MUY HERMOSO
WHAT IS THE SONG THAT PLAYS IN THE BACKROUND
What effect is that called, the transition between the actors lifetime; childhood, teenage hood and as an adult. The glides to difference scenes, what is it called?
+Mothusi Dlamini Choice and outcome I would say in my opinion.
Me guste gustado que esté en español se ve que es un mensaje muy bonito
does anyone know how or where to get the music from this?
The one thumb down is a struggling soul.
Sad. Makes me think of what President Nelson was trying to say at April General Conference. :'(
Great video.
What’s the name of the piano music?
Loved it
1:20 That's Provo! :o
wow.
Really good
its kind of sad how he's so mean to his little brother when he's young
Luv it

great video
Excellent VIdeo. Message, as always, hits home. Way off topic - but would anyone know the brand of eyeglasses at 2:37 ish . I need new ones, and like that pair. Thank You all.
Wow! Crazy as this is, and many years too late. I was in this film... those were my sons glasses, and I provided them for the main actor. Actually still have them. (absolutely no markings on them for size, name, etc.) Thanks for bringing back many good memories.
My poor dad abandoned me i feel terrible about everything, its my fault
You have a heavenly father, he is on the other side of this phone. We can’t physically see him. If you have faith and try your best to be a good person, believing in God, you’ll see Him we all will. Christ will carry you.
IT IS COOL REALLY IT IS
