Today, I was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, God's true church on the Earth. I thank Him for loving enough to cut me down, and loving me enough to let me grow into who I need to be.

I think a lot of people who are not morman would love this. My favorite scripture in the book of mormanis "remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of god". I am a morman and I know with all my heart that it is the true church we all have worth mormans and all other people and that is my testimony.

My Bishop in my teens was Hugh B. Brown's son and i was fortunate enough to hear Elder Brown tell this story himself. Years later, i had been away from the church for many years and had stumbled many times... but i remembered this story and i asked my brother if he find me a copy of this talk. He did & sent it to me. i have been back in the church for over 25 years... but this story will always be a special one for me.
A bishop is the Shepard of the entire congregation. Bishops are the "Father of the Ward". Not like the Father of a Catholic church, but a real Father that leads, guides and loves his family as Christ has loved us.

When I was 15, I had great plans when I grew up, getting married, have childrens, live in a house designed by myself, have the ideal job, etc, but as the years went by,despite my efforts to make that happen, I realized that an invisible force was guiding me, whether I liked it, or not, and no matter how hard I was trying to make that happen, the path was already in front of me all along. Things did not turn out the way I wanted, but like an invisible hand that guides me, I somehow, find myself in the right place everytime.God knows what I need, and whats best for me, way before I even ask him, and when the time is right, just like the bush, I will thank him for cutting me down, for loving me enough to hurt me.I am doing exactly what he wanted from me, from the very beginning, no questions asked. What can I ask more, from the one that is giving me the world,every heartbeat, every tear, every thought,all that I experience, this is God.I live through him,

I am a Mormon per say. My family was and i still carry the church with me even though I don’t go much at all. But this is my absolute favorite video that they showed and I will take this video wherever I go.
Drugs have ruined my life. I have chronic depression, crippling social anxiety, and my family looks down upon me as if i am the most disgraceful human to ever walk the planet. I hope this message rings true for me because I have definitely been cut down. God bless everyone I hope some day this storm will pass.

When things can't get any lower, I look up, and talk to God, as he is our only true Father, and friend, so stay strong Jake, he knows what you are going through, even before you ask him, he will resolve all your trouble, you'll see, God takes his time, as he test us all the times. Even if you can only make progress at first the fact you are trying is so important to god. have you ever tried talking to your family about your struggles? mabye it's simply the ignorance of those trials that made you out to be a black sheep or cast that light on you. This is exactly what I needed to hear. Brought tears to my eyes… I am so grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ and I know that God has a higher plan for each of us that we may not understand right now… but if we do what He asks of us, no matter how difficult the task… we will be so blessed.

WE NEED SPECIAL PRAYER BECAUSE WE ARE TRYING TO KEEP HER WITH US, RATHER THAN GOING TO A BAD LIVING PLACE. PLEASE PRAY THAT SHE WILL HAVE PEACE. I AM NOT MORMON, BUT KNOW OF THE POWER OF PRAYER!

This is a very difficult concept to grasp, accepting the will of the Lord. Mind you, not reluctantly. In recent prayers, I have been asking the Lord to help me learn to accept His will. It was always difficult, but it has given me comfort - something I am now realizing as I type this up. I thank the Lord for this Church and for the Truth restored, and for a pair of missionaries meeting my mother decades ago. Golly, this is lovely

This should be made into a children's picture book. The artwork is so beautiful and the message even more so! I think about it every time I trim the plants in my garden.. so wonderful how God's teachings can be found everywhere if we're really looking.
This is exactly what the Lord is doing to me right now. It's been a painful process, but he is molding me into what he wants me to be. I am twice the man I used to be, and I thank him everyday for loving me enough to cut me down... ☺
I remember sharing this with Haitian immigrants on my mission in Chile. We listened to it in French, and, by the end, the man was in tears. Such a powerful message for people in all circumstances.

You may not be able to get back up on your own, but the good news is that you don't have to. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to lift you back up.Jesus Christ descended below all your pain and suffering and hurt, and he felt everything that you feel. He fell, and rose again, so that you can also rise again, through his grace and mercy. I promise that He will lift you up, if you let Him. There is no hurt so deep, no life so low, no heart so broken that He can not heal it.
Read the scriptures, pray every day, repent and change the things that you need to change, but most important, don't give up on yourself, or your Savior. He will raise you higher than you can imagine, if you will trust Him and follow Him.

This was me, earlier this year. The Missionaries showed me this 2 weeks after I was denied a promotion. It changed my outlook, and I'm grateful.
I;m not a Mormon but my daughter-in-law sent it along. Beautiful and know that I will welcome some pruning along the way.
A message I needed to hear right now. Life has been and is not what I want and I hope the huge turmoil I am going through will indeed lead me on the path I need to be on to look back and thank God for pruning my life back and making me become more fruitful in life.

This Brings be back to when I made the Varsity Football team at my High school. It was my first ever time playing football for an organized team. One Wednesday during hell week our Head Coach sat us down after practice at 7 PM and said, *"Now, I see it in your eyes, pain, fear, and doubt, for those of you thinking about quiting, remember this. Almost nothing in this life WILL EVER GO YOUR WAY! You need to work to get you're way, and when life says no? sometimes all you can do is accept it, this is not one of those times, when your lungs say, " I cant do it", you remember to always think to yourself, "YOU WONT BREAK ME COACH, YOU WILL NOT BREAK ME" I'm not teaching you how to play football, gentlemen, I'm teaching about life. He died 17 days later unexpectedly of Meningitis from West nile, and we went on to lose 9 games and only win 1. For a long time, all I could think was "Why us? We had so much potential" and than I thought to myself, none of my teammates or I have ever forgotten what he said on that Painful Wednesday night. A memory that will stick with me forever. Rest in Peace Coach Brown. #CB
In the last 5 years I have been tested in many ways, my life has been very challenging when it comes to financial and family matters, at first I did not understand what was going on, now after a few experiences similar to this message in the video, I can say, Thank you Lord for shaping me, for giving me freedom, for letting me be,, me now I know many things I did not know before.

Nice message. A good reminder that we should even be thankful for our challenges.

I needed to be reminded of this message so much today.I've been hurting for a while since He cut me, rather I could've cut myself too.But I just feel so much love from Him right now, that it was for the better and that He understands my pain and doesn't deny how much it still hurts.I know the pain will go away little by little, Sunday will come. One day, I will see the big picture and know for sure that He did what's best for me. For now, I shall hold on to my faith and be comforted by His love.

This story, this talk by Elder D Todd Christofferson sharing the story of Hugh B Brown, touched me in a most significant way at a time when I needed it most, last week. Now this video comes out reinforcing the message. It was a message of how God works in our lives, the frame of mind that is positive rather than the negative frame of mind of being bitter when things don't work out as we wanted. Thankfulness rather than bitterness.

This past year I made a big change in my life that was completely my choice and made no logical sense. It was all because of a strong prompting I had, and it was confirmed to me many times through the spirit that it was what I was supposed to do. The thing was, it still hurt. It hurt a lot. I was doing terribly at what I'd committed to even though I was trying as hard as I could. I didn't understand why an act in faith seemed to be punishing me. Eventually I became sure that it was because I simply wasn't good enough to do it. But I made myself keep going. I don't even know how I managed to never give up, but now the storm is passing over. I'm still here, and I've become stronger. I'm already starting to see miracles play out in my life and other's lives that wouldn't have happened unless I'd gone through that storm in the first place. I know God is taking care of me.

"Loving me enough to cut me down." That is my favorite quote, not only does Heavenly Father do this to us, so do our parents, our idols, and older siblings. Like if you drew a picture, they can't say everything is picture perfect, unless you don't want to grow more.
