Thank you BosnianBill for the great and therapeutic videos. You are helping me get through some tough times right now, I feel like I'm listing to a good friend talk. I love this channel. Thank you Bill (oo)Lefty
So I got to pick my first "master style" lock today (no branding but looked like the classic master lock). A friend's storage shed with missing key. Tried 3 times in one direction, was about to give up but tried the other way... POP! The old thing was rusty, dented and dirty. Kind of surprised I got it at all after the grinding sound it made as it opened.
Great Video! I have subscribed to you for about a year and a half and just got my first picking kit! Now i will take a few days off and watch the other 700 videos i havent seen.
These are all decoded the exact same way, which you have shown on probably approaching a dozen locks/videos. I don't understand why it hasn't sunk in yet.
Thank You Bill I miss set my 158 and couldn't open it First video on UA-cam after searching is yours so after 5 minutes of video, 2 minutes of searching for material and tools to cut said material with and 2 minutes to crack the lock and reset the code PS after seeing a lot of your videos I' buying a starter pick kit and giving it a go
Dan iel Quiet... have you cleaned your ears out, turned up the volume.... put you're hearing aid in ... changed the batteries.. I have to turn it down..
TheLinkoln18 I believe he isrefering to thefact it is quiet in comparison to many other channelson youtube and bills voice does not have a punch its very soft
He just needs to use tome normalization(of audio levels) when editing a video. It's too loud and too quiet at the same time. What I mean is when you watch a movie and whenever there is a dialogue, it's too quiet, when it's a car chase, explosions or just some random noise, it's extremely loud, like my room is shaking loud. Maybe Mr. Bill is a bit old for playing around with editing software. (:D) I know people send him the intros, so I imagine he wants to "escape" the editing work like many older generation people nowadays. Of course, no offense to Mr. Bill intended here. :) Cheers
looks like abus cut corners with this. the older locks used to have two false gates in each wheel. I also have another four wheel one where the combination part is a sealed and you can't get a feeler in there, it is also ball bearings, so unshimmable. it's weakness was the clamshell design where once you pear off the plastic covering there was a gap wide enough to pry it open with a screwdriver.
🙂ok I found one of these the bit more hardcore version with protected shackle I mede my own tool and yeah spent months on this naughty lock, I refuse to buy a tool as it should be simple enough to make. I like people comment how easy these locks are as I guess many never tried but just comment as it does look darn easy, haha in reality some locks are more forgiving than others. thanks for sharing, I was just wanting to check what way you spin the dials and where you insert the tool again, seems I´m doing it right, just I´m not doing it RIGHT ! have a great day, never give up anything is possible. 🙂🙂🙂
I go old school on this lock Turn bottom piece with army knife screwdriver Index top from 1 to 9 till any others feel stiffer to turn Then index next down 1 to 9 and test lower rings 5 mins with no shim
This method also works on Cocraft locks sold in Sweden. I took a piece of aluminium can and instead of finding the flat part on the side I did if from the front. If you feel a U shape you are wrong. If you feel a ___ shape you are right. Like you said, a lock that keeps kids out but not more.
Thank you for this video. By following your instructions I was able to open a security level 5, 4 digit Abus 158 50 that I by accident assigned the wrong combination.
Great Vid. I have binged about 20 of your videos. I love it. This may be my new hobby., As an aside I have noticed you talk about the quality of locks depending on what country they come from. Is there any real difference or is it just the company that produced them.
Could you make a video on a buffalo 30mm. I'm new and have been trying to pick this lock with a diy lock pick and can't get it. Was wondering if you could do a video so I could get some pointers and see how to do it. Mine is super old and I lost the key and don't know how many pins it is although i believe it is a 5 pin or a 3 pin.
Jack Frost if you can't even feel how many pins it has, maybe lock picking isn't for you. you can feel pins with a small sewing needle. it might not be a pin tumbler lock, it could be a warded lock, a push lock, a lever lock or a wafer lock
Thanks for stooping! Not all combo locks have this particular weakness, but they have others that can be exploited. Combos are a convenience for the user, and that convenience comes at a cost to security.
I've been told ever since I was a small kid (30+ years ago) that combination locks are terrible, that's even before everyone could find this kind of information.... WHY are people still using them?
I love it when Bill just annihilates locks security ratings.

Thanks for all the information you've shared Bill, still referring to your videos regularly.
watched this video once, went to a customer’s house and successfully entered in minutes. Thank you Bill!

really enjoy these videos. extremely good quality.
These are fun to decode, unlatch and leave with a note saying something along the lines of, "you got lucky this time... Go buy a new lock."
Thank You Bill

Your new mic is so clear, but just very quiet. Can you please bump up the audio a bit :)

How susceptible are those Abus Combo locks to brute force, like a hacksaw etc.?
That's awesome didn't see this pick style coming smart
And they have the nerve to call it a level 8 security lock.

Just discovered your channel. Keep up the great work.
Is there a safe combination lock?
🙂ok I found one of these the bit more hardcore version with protected shackle I mede my own tool and yeah spent months on this naughty lock, I refuse to buy a tool as it should be simple enough to make. Once you line up the gates, does it matter which way you turn the wheels?

Can it be decoded by applying tension on the shakle and turning the wheels. Thanks
Thank you for this video. By following your instructions I was able to open a security level 5, 4 digit Abus 158 50 that I by accident assigned the wrong combination.
The code was under the black tape on the cardboard with the lock.
"Make the lock yours" - sure and then someone else can make it theirs! 😁
can you recommend a code lock (without key) which is not so easy to pick/decode?
It would be fun to see you registration revisit the naughty bucket.
so, I saw a lock at home depot the other day that had two keyholes, one for the key and the other for some weird metal sheet
Fire Bomb that might be an kwikset rekeyable clone
Great video, but what's up with the black bars around it?

Love your videos 👍🏻 thank you for making them for us.
What kind of pins are in the ABUS 80TI/50?
Hehe this is fitting because of what i asked on the last video you posted
Great channel. New to the hobby and just subbed!
Are there any combination locks that are any good?
No
Is that the Potomac river at the end?
Were do you purchase the tool from

Nice video
You surely do make great videos in terms of education!
Do you have a Instagram page where you post videos
No, sorry.

I wonder if a prior owner came from San Jose
Never forget, the Atlanta Falcons blew a 28-3 lead in Super Bowl 51.
good locks keep honest people honest. cheap locks keep stupid people honest.
cheap locks keep smart people dishonest?
This was in the naughty bucket? It couldn't have been there because you were unable to open it...
I cant believe theres an open screw on the bottom
Chris Keele The screw on the bottom doesn't unlock it. It lets you create a new combination once you have unlocked the lock.
TofuandGreenBeans Thanks, that makes much more sense
Need help with a Master 651 Please
possible d avoir la traduction en français
I've been told ever since I was a small kid (30+ years ago) that combination locks are terrible, that's even before everyone could find this kind of information.... WHY are people still using them?
nice one :)
Never found a combination lock that is "secure"..
That was in the nauty bucket for months?
OMG. You got to be joking?
Subbed :-)
You are now trap! You will never miss a vidéo! ^^
yep ;-)
what happened to your hand? a cat?
Lock came with combo. LOL give me a l9ck and combo I can pick it also. Looked up weak sauce and found this video
.
This lock is shit! had 2 of them already. the shackle eventually comes loose of the body! 2 times in 1years I've had to return it.
Just because it's an Abus and alot bigger than normal doest mean it's any good. Shame on you Abus.
Cheap junk.
I see them for sale for ~£35, not very cheap. Still junk.
