My pet peeves. They litter. They won’t clean after themselves or others, except at their home. They love leaving cleaning common areas to the lowest class of people. (Not my job) They don’t take turns, respect a line. I use their busses. When a bus reaches its final destination, they bum rush the exit. They take cuts anytime they can, going thru security checks, loading the busses. Especially driving. They expect you to be non confrontational when they are rude and selfish. Walking around, you need to watch for any type of vehicle doing extreme things to pass. Getting off busses, you can not trust that no vehicle is speeding by on the right side,, the exit of the bus. (Passing on the right of a parked bus that is loading/unloading). Motos will ride on sidewalks, cut thru parking lots,, also in the opposite direction of traffic. People doing a security job, are always looking for a way to be important and show their authority. So, they ID check you over and over when they know you are a resident at a condo. Acting like they are doing an important job.

A Canadian blogger (becoming Filipino) was hit by a motorbike last week on a pedestrian crossing. Luckily, he wasn't hurt. The motorbike rider didn't even get off his damn bike and assist him to get up!

9:00 minutes of the video: I don't think us westerners mind helping out our filipina's family when it's needed but what annoys us is giving money when her 2 older brothers with 4 children each are not working and her father barely works and spends the money on booze. Most of us bust our ass in the west to earn what we have and it's difficult to give money away to people who are not motivated to work and have multiple children they know they can't afford.

My issue with the food is the predominance of rice at every meal. As a diabetic, that's a disaster for my sugar control, but that's a me problem, not their problem. I'd eat rice all the time if I could.

I understand the fact my girlfriend is the bread winner for her family. I dont understand her family being demanding.
Youre out of your mind if you think you can demand how it gets spent. She decides who needs it most. The issue i have is the disrespect / attitude when she says no and they want to argue. You don't work you have no leg to stand on

Helping family members can be a good thing. The problem comes when the family members think they don't need to contribute. This is an epidemic thing here. I was married to a filipina for 28 years and now have another filipina wife. Looking at families here, more often than not, there will be only one or two working to support the whole family. This dependence is not a healthy thing for anyone involved.

    • @MarieChristine95
      @MarieChristine95 Місяць тому +1

That is so true! UA-cam is full of OFW stories who've supported their families for many years, sometimes for decades. But try and go home sick and penniless, you'd be lucky to have your own mother help you. The close family ties only works if you have money!

Many foreigners , dosent have English jo as native language .
Not even road signs , menu , documents etc on English .
Been to 17 countries and most of them, dosent have English as native language but when Filipinos dont want to understand , its about being lazy and all those taxi drivers here in Cebu who dont want to speak English .They have customers from all over the world .
I could nearly not write or speak English at school but i started practice and there where no internet and gadget as now. Can learn most things online .

I have noticed that as I slowly grow older, my medical needs also grow with me. Lucky for me I have Medicare thru my Social Security here in the states. I have 12 different prescription drugs that I need daily. That could be very expensive if I were to live in the Philippines. My grave site is paid for. Do I concern myself? HELL NO. I am in the USA not the Philippines.

Hello, I am living part time in Mactan Newtown, Cebu and in Los Angeles, CA areas. I heard on one of your videos that you do nursing homes in Cebu for foreigners. Please let me know if you need a salesperson here in the States, or someone to accompany elderly to Cebu? I just lost my mom two years ago, and nursing homes here are just too expensive! I think it is a great business to make in the Phillipines. God Bless!

I’d be interested to catch up and talk more about this with you if you ever have some time. Sorry to hear about you losing your mom. I lost my dad around the same time.

English is useless if people do not know how act with dignity while talking to foreigners, especially if they are white. People need to speak to foreigners like they are equal and like they are still living in the colonial era.

Eating with the hand is a habit worldwide and has been for thousands of years. There are many wisdoms in this.
In Islam we also eat with our hands and to be precise with the right hand only. The left hand we use for dirty things. There are also other etiquettes like eating what's in front of you, not blowing on the food and other useful smart rules.
Ofcourse it's okay to eat with utensils but Westerners should not feel disgusted when others eat with their hands.
However, I heard stories that some Filipinas don't wash their hands before eating. That's not good. You have to wash prior eating.

I was in the ladies room in a Philippines mall last year. I was shocked to see the women exiting without washing their hands! I just hoped they weren't food staff! One thing I observed in a ladies' room in the Philippines, the mirrors (where the taps are located) were ALWAYS occupied by women preening themselves!! They endlessly brushed their hair right in front of the sink, dropping hairs all over!
