    I know the initial investment for these eartip molds can be quite high, but sheesh man, some of these eartip manufacturers charge a pretty penny for some silicone... The least they can do is offer variety packs! (some of them do)

    I think I just need the Fiio case 😆 I carry 3 Dunu cases filled with tips right now and even though they take up almost zero real estate in my backpack, it sure would be nice to have them all in one case. Fantastic video, Timmy! 😊

    The new Tangzu Tang Sancai (narrow bore version) is one of the best tips I ever used. It makes the bass very tight (more than the Final Audio Type E). The mids and treble aren't affected and remain transparent across the spectrum. The fit is very good and stick in your ears without hurting.
    Another thing to note is that the pressure release griping system is the only one that actually works among all the tips I've used to this day. (I haven't tried the wide bore version, so I can't say the same).

    My favourites of all time are Divinus Velvet(normal and now the wide bore as well)+ Eletech Baroque. But imo divinus gives 90-95% of the same feel as baroque at very low price.

    I can kind of see why you want variety packs to be available, but when only one of those sizes actually fits (maybe 2 for styles with half-sizes) it winds up going mostly to waste. For expensive sets, better to work out your size with variety packs from cheaper sets or sets coming with iems than spend a premium to use less than half of an expensive variety pack.

    • @gavinbrichardson
      @gavinbrichardson 5 днів тому +8

      The issue with that is every ear tip is different. Size isn't standardized. A medium with one is a large with another. It usually isn't even standard brand to brand. The more expensive ones, especially, use weirder materials that affect fitment.

    • @SaveMeAzathoth
      @SaveMeAzathoth 5 днів тому +3

      @@gavinbrichardson They pretty universally publish the measurements for each size, though, which can be usefully compared regardless of size naming issues.

    • @k.w5804
      @k.w5804 5 днів тому +2

      They do show the dimensions and whatnot but I actually would want variety pack like M/ML or ML/L so you don’t waste the stuffs you know will never fit, but still get a size up and down for deeper or shallower insertion. Dimensions sometimes just don’t tell the story. My recent experience with Baroque L and Divinus Velvet ML is an example. Baroque is 13.3 mm OD while Velvet is 13.2mm. But in practice the Baroque fits noticeably smaller. So I guess the tips’ shape profile and material stiffness/softness all play together.

    • @kenjikodai
      @kenjikodai 5 днів тому +1

      I'd rather it go to waste than buying 5 packs of something that doesn't quite fit and those also going to waste
      That tactic only works if there was standardized sizing which there isn't, which is how I came to wear Large Dunu S&S, medium spring tips, small and medium Sancai wide bores but large normal Sancais and then ML and L spiral dot++
      Even though the dimensions are publicized, it doesnt matter because your ear decides how it fits well and not just sizing

    • @wana.me003
      @wana.me003 5 днів тому +1

      Tips don't go to waste as such, when you have friends and family that either lose their tips often or you gift them iems and such, they come in handy.

  • @sand9577
    @sand9577 5 днів тому +3

    I got out of the tip game with custom ear tips. Mine are hard eartips for wide bore IEM. Isolation is excellent, comfort is top notch and I can wear them all day on my S12. Yes, they are more expensive than one pair of tips, but instead of spending a similar amount of money on eartips that will wear out, or will not fit you well, it's affordable.

    • @sand9577
      @sand9577 5 днів тому

      @@karsten.boethling Custom eartips are like a quarter of the way to CIEM. The process starts with ear impressions as well, and the size of your IEM nozzle. The process for custom eartips is even more niche than with CIEM, since it requieres some skill from the technitian to make everything come together. In my experience, go for the hard acrylic ones, not the soft. Soft, custom eartips butcher the sound, acrylic, enhance it.
