    Brian, I would chose TW because of the cost. I am a driveway detailer, so cost is very important. The new Turtle Wax products are NOT my father products. TW has stepped up their game. I wish they would develop a rinseless wash in their Hybrid Solutions line of products.

    This past weekend did my wifes dark metal flake blue Mazda 3 Sedan with the new "improved" Seal & Shine. I am in need of protection living in an extreme North American climate but I-want-shine! This new formula is astonishing. Twice this week my wife has been approached about the "shine" on her car. 3 years old and well taken care of but nonetheless her best friend asked if the car was new... This stuff is for real. Terrific.

    Turtle Wax easily. What they've done with making quality, durable, and affordable products has been refreshing. Also the fact that if you feel like it, you can easily just top up a fresh coating of Seal N Shine every few washes if you want and you're good to go again. Since you get so much in a bottle, it costs so little, and it's super easy to apply.

    Great video, TW a real winner! The application of both products was reasonably fair, but the Gyeon does have a second enhancer in their kit that should have been used. In addition, the endurance contest was not fairly conducted. The soaps were first applied to the TW side, then Gyeon and back across the TW side. In effect washing the TW product twice, while cross-contaminating both products. With a bit more separation, these products would not be cross-contaminated and washed equally using separate sponges. When the products market survival is at stake, everything should be done to make it as FAIR as possible, even if the outcome is the same.

    Field results. I did the Turtle Wax system on my new F150 a year ago. Work as a pipeline inspector and hammer my truck. When I wash it I top with a damp cloth with the ice wax. Just today a worker asked me "How do you keep your truck looking so good". I prepped it properly and applied properly. FYI I am a pipeline coating/corrosion specialist. And can’t express enough how important preparation is to any coating. This sh*t works and wears like iron. I could not be happier.

    One thing people sometimes overlook about the relevancy of chemical durability tests is maintenance. Frequent maintenance washes and detailing can do as much as mother nature towards wearing out your protection. For vehicles that are often outdoors and driven regularly but also frequently cleaned and well maintained, chemical resistance is definitely something that should factor in to the choice of protection.. 👍👌✌

    • @kkassen1
      @kkassen1 4 роки тому

      or you could use tw ceramic wet wax as a drying aid once you are done washing.... Maintaining that durability.... I never wash my truck without adding a wet wax or the ceramic hybrid solutions spray coating. Which last as longer than any of these products.

    • @jdisdetermined
      @jdisdetermined 4 роки тому

      @@kkassen1 yeah, drying aid protection is a quick and easy way to keep your topper going strong. Haven't had many clients who want to use them regularly though. 😔 I like to dry with forced air when possible, so I don't use that method very often personally either, and I've never used a spray and rinse that really impressed me. I like to use Moonlight as a topper just because I know exactly what it's capabilities are..
      Like Brian, I specialize mostly in corrections, coatings and extensive mini restorations, so I don't do a lot of maintenance washes and detailing.. usually just personal vehicles and when clients bring vehicles back for a refresh..
      Are you using the drying aid application as a topper/sacrificial layer or standalone protection?

    • @jayz313
      @jayz313 4 роки тому +7

      What most people do not know is the detailing product industry has very large mark ups. There are two ways to make money, do a lower volume of business with high mark ups, or do a higher volume of business with lower mark ups, the higher volume of business will in turn give you more more negotiating power with your suppliers , hence also increasing your profits. I would venture to say a portion of TW's and Gyeons ingredients are the same, and may even be bought from the same supplier. Who do you think is able to buy thier ingredients at a better price? Lastly let's not forget TW has reinvented itself, and part of that reinvention includes continuous improvement. Anyone care to speculate what TW's Ice Seal and Shine's next iteration will be like? Will Gyeon One improve? Anyone care to speculate when TW will have thier ceramic or graphine coating out?

    • @TheSocialPlumber

    An unexpected, yet illuminating comparison. I'd take the TW every time (I have a bottle of the original SnS in the garage). Reasons are ease of use and slickness, price and a lack of worry - want to protect a car that has a few love marks etc. and no time to polish? Hit it with TW for a brilliant end result. Coatings need a lot more prep and may well end up staying on the shelf as a result. I'm seriously considering trying the new wax now as a topper to a well applied SnS layer.

    It's still so hard to believe the Turtle Wax has become such a big player in the spray-on wax/sealant market. For many years, all I ever remember seeing on the shelves of stores from them was Zip-Wax. Pro detailers wouldn't ever consider endorsing their products and now everyone is raving about these two spray on products. I personally will never use a cream or paste wax again. That is, until someone creates a new "halo" product. . .

    I bet after all this they will eventually lower their prices if they want to sell the product. People nowadays (if they are smart) want the most for their hard earned money ... think how much TW you can buy for what the price is they are asking

    I figure with TW the the wax was gone but just the SnS left. It’s a great value choice for a lot of people who don’t want to go full ceramic. Wonder what would be different with 2 layers of SnS’

    Excellent video. For my detailing business I mainly stick with the ceramic sprays because they go on easier and still provide great protection and gloss. I know it can't beat a true ceramic coating but after dealing with this one car that had such bad water etching in the coating it really makes me prefer the spray coatings.

    I get the water bead vs water sheet argument but regardless of how well one sheets it will not really rain enough to flood the panel to cause sheeting. Even products which are known for sheeting will bead up just as well under a lite to moderate mist which is most rain. Sure if you take a hose and flood the panel one will sheet but it doesn't rain like that in the real works which will be the vast majority of water contact with a vehicle unless you live in a super dry environment where it only sees water during a wash.

      I’m sure you don’t live in the south. We’ve had that very hard ran for 4 days now. I was driving in that hard ass ran this morning in Houston, Texas. We get very bad rain in the south and it’s not sprinkles and mist.

      @@slimsampy4764 I've seen many types of rain and the vast majority of it has been lite showerd short of a hurricane. Not every rain is pouring and while it does happen from time to time it's not every time.
      Weather here is more like Florida where it rains for 5-10 mins and stops.

      Nearly all ceramic coatings require a topper every few months so just delete the expensive ceramic coating and apply the TW products every few months and save $$$$!!

    Could you use seal and shine on top of a ceramic coat? I feel like that would be the pinnacle of protection.

    Wow, wow, wow. Obviously, Turtle Wax was going to beat any other product on price and having used their products for years with my grandfather and dad I was wondering how it would do against a basic Ceramic coating. These results left me discombobulated how good it did. Surely, Gyeon is expected to hold since its it's a Ceramic coating but all the others must be looking to improve their formulas because for less can do more. I wonder how it will also do against Griots 3 in 1 and Griots 3 in 1 against Ceramic coating too. Thanks for this valuable insight and tests. Sure Turtle Wax watches you and the other detailers that were at their latest advertisement for their Hybrid Ceramic

    ...and the application of a ceramic coat brings it down too. Having done a few ceramic coatings, I'll take the spray bottle coatings all day long just for the ease of use. Add the results etc of your testing, its just a better bet.
