When you end a relationship, no matter which party you are (dumper or dumpee) , you will still have healing to do.. no matter how over it you feel.. subconsciously I believe you need some time to yourself. Time to reflect on the lessons you've learned, the things you possibly gave up or put to the side for your partner, and some time to start loving yourself again. Jumping into another relationship takes all those valuable things that you could be doing internally and externally and puts it back on the side, and you just focus on the other person again. Odds are you will have to deal with the same issues from the previous relationship in the new one anyway.. focus on you- best 3 words anyone can receive after a breakup.

I told my ex I wasn’t an option or a backup plan. After she tried coming back but didn’t want to work it out. So I told her I was tired of her bullshit and uncertainty. She said she loved me. Then a week later she said she’s seeing someone else lol. So I said goodbye.

With my ex 8 years, he dumped me and jumped right into a relationship with another woman. It was never an "official" relationship, and lasted about 4 months. 🤣 I can honestly say it took me over a year to get over him. I finally started dating a guy at that point and we didn't last long, (not compatible) either. A year and a half out from the big break up, I'm single and loving it! Personal growth is THE key! Yup four months and the rebound got another woman that was younger with less issues. But ex told rebound it was nothing serious but was upset.

I was in a six years relationship and my ex cheated on me snd dumped me. I was a wreck for sometime, but I found the strength to realise my worth and the abundance that comes with life. That same dumper came calling and messaging me off and on snd I never responded. I actually took away my entire existence from her. Hope her rebound helps her find the missing pieces to her puzzle. I will never reconnect with her
Imo a rebound just brings back the feelings of missing your ex and you end up comparing that new person to the one you love. Although I could be biased because I'm looking at it from the perspective of the one who was broken up with.

I just got dumped! It hurts to see that I was rebound and I got burned. I did not realize that I was rebound for her. In this short periods of time of our relationship I got emotionally invested in it! People are very cruel.

Thank you both so much for making these videos. You've changed my life and made me far more aware of myself and others. This topic is especially relevant to my situation and it's very comforting to hear the knowledge you share. Ultimately, I feel so much better than I did right after my breakup months ago and I no longer feel like I need my ex. Self-growth is my current priority, but it does give me great satisfaction knowing that his seemingly perfect rebound relationship is destined to fail (especially considering that he has a bad tendency towards infatuation and suppressed sadness coming back to haunt, they're going to be long-distance soon, and he's terrible with communication)

With social media rebound relationships last longer than they should. The person in the rebound relationship knows ppl know that its a rebound and they are hell bent on proving everyone wrong. So they will have checked out months ago but will let it linger 4-5 months longer than it should

Mine didn't come back neither. It's also been two years and 5 months. I recently hacked her IG account by guessing her password. I found out she was with a guy since she dumped me. We're talking about my 7 years ex wife. She reduced the relationship from 7 years down to 2. We were boyfriends for 4 years. She only counts when we started living toguether. 3 years. Why she say 2 ? Go figure...🤣
Another metafor that should explan that a relationship will never be the same (meaning worse). But that is not true in every case. All are different. You may come out stronger.

We had a long term relationship over two years. We have the most strong attachment and we are very compatible. My ex dumped me 3 months ago after we became long distance, and over a month ago, he told me he’s seeing someone, now they are living together. We have been talking. It hurts a lot, but I’m better after watching a few videos.

Crazy that Craig and Margret posted this video when I was just talking to my friend about rebounds. A lot of what I had thought about rebound relationships and why they don't last. Their is no growth from the other person, or what the ex is feelings are true. Crazy. Made me feel a little bit better. Thank you! 😊
No the real reason is people downgrade when they rebound. When they later realise it they break up with the rebound.
youtube sucks it’s been more than a year since I broke up with my ex. Now my ex wife. Whether they down grade or not doesn’t really matter. But my statement about them not changing remains true. My ex got pregnant by another young man soon after we broke up. I requested a divorced and had her take the car loan out of my name. Every interaction I had with her I hoped that she would see the changes I had made and my growth. And I had hoped she had done the same. But even to the very end she was the same. The truth is I had out grown her. Thanks to therapy, Craig, Margret, the work books, and the help of family and friends. If she’s happy with the new guy that’s fine. And if she’s not that’s fine too. Not my problem or responsibility anymore. Whether she realizes it or not it doesn’t matter to me. From what I saw she was no better off with me than with her new baby daddy. Rebounds don’t last because your ex is just using someone to hid/ignore their own issues. To run away from them. And that’s why they don’t grow. And that’s why they continue run into the same issues in new relationships. That is the truth that I learned after the break up. What mattered at the end of the day is that I am now better version of myself. The video helped me get 1 step closer to realizing that. And if any one reads this I hope it helps them get a little closer to being happy with their own personal journey of being a better versions of themselves and their own personal growth story.

I was with my gf for 5 years. March we parted ways and she got in a relationship right after. I've done the no contact since and honestly some days are better then others. I've been improving myself and finding my self worth. I just got promoted at work. Got a new tattoo. Lost about 20 pounds. Got a new car and I've been hanging with friends and been doing my best to stay happy. I'll keep up yall posted. It hasn't been three months. I do feel one day she will contact like the other times we took a break. But pain is still there.

Yeah, i think i was a rebound, now that i am seeing this, i met my ex and he just had 3 weeks that he left his previous relationship of 15 years and 2 kids, he told me that the relationship ended 2 years prior that but they were trying to make it work, but they had a lot of hate on each other and still do, and i think he never processed that, but he got so intense in our relationship that i gave myself into it, hoping that this was not it, but here i am, after 5 months in the relationship he didn't feel committed anymore, and now seeing this videos i think i was a rebound, and was hoping to get him back, but now i decided to just move on., he deserves his time to process it and i deserve someone who is just for me. Mine literally cheated on me the eve of our 11 months together. Then it ended, and she had him move in with her right away. That was exactly 5 months ago today. Meanwhile, I have watched these videos, and done the workbooks over and over again, putting in multiple hours EACH day for the past 4 months straight along with therapy. I was broken, have healed, have awakened, and have grown like I could have never imagined. I’d like to think I’m the real winner in this one. 💯

I continue watching videos, and doing the workbooks each and every day. I practice everything that I have learned. I have built an amazing team of people that force me to level up and take mental notes from my renewed mindset. Growth every day.
A Rebound Relationship is nothing more than a distraction. Chances are you won't find people who are rebounding is most likely due to them not wanting to admit that they are in a rebound and acknowledge the reality of their situation. Why??? Once they come to that realization is when they have to take a good look at themselves, their previous track records and deal with the reality.

My Ex of 23 yrs jumped straight into a relationship with a work colleague he knew straight away, he’s been there 18 mths. Never want that ODB back.
My exes rebound relationship is hanging on by a thread. It is on life support. Because they don't even get along. I know she misses me. Because she posts frequently on social media how badly he treats her and makes her cry when he disrespects her and cheats on her. My personal growth is in effect and I am becoming the best version of me than I have ever been.

I know for sure that my ex is in a rebound relationship being he as Narcissistic traits (many traits). As for me even though I have lost interest and a lot of feelings for him I wouldn't get myself into a rebound relationship. The fact that my ex cheated made me feel insecure about my appearance (maybe he saw something prettier). I a working on healing and improved appearance. No partying but attending church instead as I do have several church associates who love me and are praying for me as they know my situation. As for my ex, he is a lost case and will not change since he has those Narc traits as well as prideful. Thank you for the rebound information you've shared.
Okay but i was the new rebound partner and yes it’s true, in the end he was still very much in love with his ex and i was left there alone. I gave my all for that relationship to work and he completely destroyed me because his ex is better.

I was the rebound and my ex is a dismissive-avoidant. She broke up with me, saying she "didn't want to date anyone right now," and "I'm happy being alone right now," but two days later, I saw her WITH her ex. He had broken her heart and she used me to avoid dealing with the feelings she was experiencing--like all good avoidants do. And this happened at EXACTLY the four-month mark. So why does her ex get her back if HE broke her heart in the first place?!

The rebound relationship duration has to do with its proper evolution, their development. Depends on age an situations of participants.

my ex left me around the 3 month mark saying she didnt feel close to me, i've since learnt that shes likely an avoidant so attachment is hard for her and its doubtful she will come back. what i'd like to know is what sort of things create an attachment to another person? I have an anxious style so for me to become attached all i really need is for the person to show some interest. I dont have a lot of people who show any interest in my life so when someone does i tend to latch on. But it seems with most people this wouldn't/isn't the case and theres other things they need to become attached but I have no idea what they are or how to go about doing them.
I know theres ways of doing things that can help build initial attraction from a partner but these things dont lead to attachment.

In a committed relationship for 13 years. The majority of our time together was great.The last year was rough but I thought we were working on things. I saw signs that made me suspicion and did call him out but he said he was not talking or seeing anyone else. He "swore" he wasn't and I was being jealous. He left in November, (i did not know he was leaving) got a place and I just found out he is with someone he brought over from India and has been planning this for some time. I remember now seeing videos he would watch about brides from otherountries which he said he didnt watch on our video history. This is so out of character for him. I didn't even recognize him at the end but this is shoking. We talked alot before the break up and he said it was all my fault. He loved me but wasn't in love with me anymore and he was cruel. My ex reached out to me a month after we broke up, she called me out of the blue and asked me to meet her. When she gave me a hug, I could sense that she had missed me. After our brief meet, she kept telling me to call her and we would briefly talk and do brief texting. Fast forward to yesterday. She told me she was going to see me and then she got scared and backed out. She said she didn’t want any problems with her new boyfriend and that she couldn’t see me. I have a wonderful friend who got divorced back in Sept of 2015, then 4 months later in January of 2016, she got engaged then got married in September of 2017. Now, she has been separated for 12 months but 11 months ago, she decided to get with a Venezuelan whom she just met, guy talking about having a relationship and a future with him, now she has a baby by him, and she doesn't even know him. And he is 44 and has a 9 year old daughter
Not very often,eh? I was married for 22 years, it was a sham even though I'd put my heart and soul into the whole thing, kids, community etc. I saw it would never improve between us so took initiative against the odds, we divorced. He remarried within a year, they're together now 14 years, I'm still alone- go figure! Now recently finally found a man I am interested in who has been in divorce proceeding s for 6-7 months. Not sure how far along in the process he is or whether or not anything will ever develop between us .
I texted my ex again today after I found out he has a new girlfriend that he works with. After he told me when he dumped me that he didn’t have time to meet anyone new. Well duh, you work with her so you have all the time in the world. I wasn’t too negative towards her, but I did say she was probably waiting for him to break up with me. It’s a classic rebound, but maybe it will last. All I can do is work on improving myself and moving on from this pain.

Hi there I just want to know how to go about my situation my ex of 33 years is with a younger guy who is old enough to be her son, but she still wants to be in a relationship with me and I don't want to do it , and I've told her numerous times that I don't want to do it ,and also told her I don't want to see her and she agrees then turns up . I hope you're right. But I've lost all hope. Im done with this. I'm in agony right now. I've failed. I tried no contact. Radio silence and ive lost her for good it seems. She looks so happy. After 5 months of being separated. I poured my heart out to her and ask her to try again. She said told me she is talking to someone else and she really likes him...I think even if she is in a rebound and wants to reconnect with me after it fails (if it does looking at the statistics)n I don't think I will be there for her... I am hurt by her decision
I feel for you max. I'm 3 months in and kept sending one email a month being civil. She ignored me. Today she made her profile pic her and her coworker are dating. She left me for someone and that set me back further. 5 years gone. I can't take away your pain. But you aren't alone. I hope I'm stronger if she ever speaks to me again.
Coach Kenneth it would be wonderful if you could a video on the differences between someone leaving you for someone else with overlap and rebound relationships. Do people in the former tend to come back or have they gone forever?
T R I believe overlap is the same as a rebound. they overlap because they don’t want to be alone so they find someone to fill the void before they give up their current relationship. I consider overlapping cheating. my ex did overlapping, tried to blame me for his cheating and still had left me for her. he blamed me for the entire breakup, and belittled me so he wouldn’t feel the guilt, and I believed it was all my fault. really crappy to say the least. yes my ex is still with her.

Mine to. After 23 years. 2 children. One was very sick so we lived together attound 8 mounths after the breakup and she started seeing someone. Dated for 4 mounths. Looks serious. But we talk and write. The funny thing is everyone I try to go smart contact and tell her she can have him. She pulls me right back. She has been sating things like: I do love you, miss you, you are the one I would like to grow old with, terapi and more. She is very confused and need time. She is stressed and is pressured from all around..... hhmmmm maybe I have a chance. Funny thing is Ireally know all I have been doing wrong because I have looked inward and work on myself. We were nat a team, bad communication and to little trust. I actually understand why she left at last.... now I am trying to show her I have changed. But it is difficult because I see her to much. She wants me close and U have told her I can't live like this. I want romance and she friendship. In my case I do belive that there is no friend zone between us. She has feelings but likes us both... i can choose to go and wait it out. But it actually looks seriously from the outside or I can show her I have changed and go for emotional connection. Building on that.Be close. But I do not know if it is to early.

Mine broke up with me after 1 1/2 years. She said I wasn’t affectionate enough in which she was right. As of now I’m in NC for 2 weeks after breakup. I just got sole custody of my child and I thought we were moving forward. We didn’t. She left and was in a Facebook official relationship in less than 6 days. She doesn’t know yet but he’s a career felon and had been in prison for the last 10 years and just got out in January. I’m a clean guy, no trouble with the law. She’s always made fun of the type of people he actually is and has strong feelings against some of the things he’s been in prison for. He’s a meth dealer and she’s not about that. It sucks I got dumped for a 5 time felon.

I’m a man I was told she wanted space, she ghosted me and stoped communicating. I reached out multiple times, she started blocking me. She left a bunch of her shit at my place. I asked her if she wanted it back. She said she’d let me know. After a few weeks she never got back to me and I found out she was taking pictures with the guy that she told me “not to worry about” so I dumped all her shit on her driveway. At least now I knew she was ditching me. 6 months later her brother texted me and said she was depressed and really stressed out and he hopped I was doing ok. I didn’t care by then. Found out later she got married and pregnant shortly after, now her new man works at Home Depot. I thought he was tall and rich, found out he’s actually fat and poor. Either I’m the biggest asshole or they’re fucking crazy. Who knows, I love being single and focused on my gym and business. I dated a lot of women in the last 4 years. I’m not in a rush to get back into that.
Can you do a video about monkey branching, this is a term I discovered last month. It’s like rebounding or leads to rebounding in a sense that the person is already seeing someone new without the other person knowing and when things are just right with the new person they break up with their current bf/gf. Question what does it mean when a ex's partner gets a friend to spy on you?,So I'm a musician (singer) looking for a band she must have known this and used it to her advantage by getting one of her friends to meet up with me as he was looking for a band he was asking alot of questions where I thought was strange previously I had noticed they were friends by looking on he's Facebook I always Sus a musician before meeting them as Facebook profile tells alot about a person I saw a photo of them I tried to think positive and believe it was a coincidence but I told him thing's which were true she is a rebound I probably shouldn't have but anyway the next day she changes her profile photo to her and my ex plus other evidence proved the musician (her friend) was clearly untrustworthy.

Why would he insult you? Probably to deal with his guilt for lining up another woman before breaking up with you. There's no way he met her 3 days later and started a relationship. She will likely experience his acting out and distance herself if not dump him.
The end of the relationship can't be all your fault, there's a reason why you felt insecure and that had to do with him not meeting your needs in some way. He didn't change overnight just because he's with someone else. If you can avoid seeing them as much as possible in person or on social media please try to do that.

I unfortunately got caught up in a rebound relationship. She just got dumped and I didn't know it. I got used for two months then got dumped for a higher valued guy .........But I had gotten her pregnant and as soon as she found out she went straight to the guy before me and told him the child was his. I had no Value to her what so ever. He found out the child wasn't his but she never told me about it. I found out three years later thru the rumor mill and she still denied it. What does it mean if the man who unknowingly realized he was on a rebound, got involved with a girl who was dishonest about her previous ex and basically I was studip to ignore the signs but in retrospect I realize she was further along in healing and more ready for a new relationship than I was. In the end she ended up dumping me and downgraded from both me and her previous ex within 2 weeks.. now she seems to not be able to get over me as I began ro move on. What's your take on that type of situation. Despite the circumstances I still feel like there was real love there and had timing been better maybe it would have worked out.
I’m so devastated. The only reason he left me was our age difference. That’s not something I can fix. We were together for years and he said that I was perfect for him and he wanted to marry me if only I were younger. He literally left me for the rebound so he took no time to get over me and I think there are plenty of things that show that. Like him reaching out. Sexting me. Sleeping with me. I was in no contact with him for 40 days. week of August 13. He came to my door begging for me back asking if we can get back together. Loves me etc. after 3 days he ghosted me. Well today is the day I finally realised that I'm never going to get the love of my life back. My Wife told me in no uncertain terms will never be getting back together and divorce papers are immanent. She's has been dating her apparent rebound for last 3 months and told me she's happy. In the 4 1/2 months since she left me I have worked on myself, watched pretty much every video on here + on multiple other subscribers ...all without success. 1. Affair’d w/ a common law, got busted in her car in the parking lot by her hubby on their first date/ cheat, took her to a motel, she made him call me to let me know he was now hers, called me from the motel phone so I could hear motel ambiance, and he came back wanting satisfying love making from me🤣😂
2. Ghosted each other for 2 weeks and then went to another motel to drink and sex it up, lol. He came back again for better sex, lol.
3. He disappeared on a monday to live at grandmas house🤣 so they could FaceTime chat in peace🤣 then he quit drinking so he could be in recovery with her since she is not well and is an addict.
3. He surprised me and our son when he ran out of money and came back to our house, took my purse and work bags by force snapping my arms. I called 911, they acted like they were going to pick him up when another unit found him in downtown Houston, lol they didn’t pick him up or even try, they wrote a report, didn’t include my purse and work bags, and he got away. They hoteled up this time sober and we’re photographed in a pub, a saki bar and an Italian restaurant, lol🤣
4. HPD Ivestigator’s launched a felony robbery/ bodily injury arrest and arrested him a month and a half later. I filed a protective order for myself and child/ witness to the crime. He has a speeding ticket, a felony charge, is responsible for my 3 Louis Vuitton personal bags that I purchased for my job a million years before meeting him and still have proof of receipts, pictures of, and even text messages of him admitting that he took them🤣🤣 his abusive father is blind to everything and doesn’t know everything about the case so when he was harassing me via phone while his arrogant son was jail bait, I let it patiently go to VM🤣😂 maybe his pathetic son will tell him everything but he will most likely lie to his dad bc he is a disrespectful thug.
I have the best criminal defense attorney in Houston as my prosecutor and I don’t really think I even need one, just wanted to make sure the pawns get pawned.
It’s not his first arrest, the first one was a misdemeanor/ domestic violence, yes the system is slow in Houston, however, it gives them more time to get comfortable before part 2 drops.😘

Mikey M I can give you a word of advise Mikey. I went through the same thing your going through. You got to give your ex their space. You may not want to hear this but you got to cut off contact with her and go cold turkey for 30-45 days. You got to stop beating yourself up over this breakup and look at why things went sour. Fact are there are many reason why a woman will call it quits. What you need to do is learn from this experience as keep moving forward. If your ex during the no contact period reaches out, don’t ignore her but keep your answer brief. Do not mention anything about the former relationship or the breakup. If she wants to get back with you then it will be her decision. Please what ever you do; don’t be clingy or needy, she will run the other way. Just like a cat, you got to let her come to you. Also avoid the friend zone at all cost.
