Stanford Bird Club. I & J Danger Point Tern Roost

Stanford Bird Club monthly outing. The I & J site normally gives access to their tern roost which, in winter, guarantees Antarctic Tern and good chance of Roseate Tern. This time the terns were in an inaccessible area. We could identify lots of Antarctic Terns but it was too far to see whether Roseate Terns were present. Birding was still good and the birds appear to be getting ready for the breeding season.
We called in at the Penguin Sanctuary to enquire about the Antarctic Petrel that had been rescued from the beach in Pearly Beach. The bird is recovering well and is expected to be released out at sea this weekend.
