If you summon the spectral assassin in the "the cure for madness" mission he will talk to you about the dilemma in the dark brotherhood
I was playing this quest the other week and found the bow, never knew it was there I till then and I've been playing this since 2012
Short story:
So after i killed vittoria i saw elisif reaching out the balcony, grabbing the bow and starts sniping the penitus guards from the balcony. She accidentally shot a guard and made the guards attack her. Weeks has passed and she is still sniping from that balcony.
I felt so sorry for pushing a gargoyle on her head but I needed that darn Trophy XD

Sir Candyman Joke's on you because I didn't watch. I saw the video in the feed and was wondering how so many people watch walkthroughs of a 5-year-old game they most likely played multiple times.
When I did this quest Astrid also sent Argonian to help me. And only a few party guests actually kept trying to kill me. The guards didn't chase me nor gave me a bounty. They said it was not their fault since the bride had hired bodyguards. So I took care of the bride and Vezaara took care of the guests and told me to head back to the base!
and so the red wedding repeats itself
I just finished this quest. I ended up having to reload the game 5 or 6 times to make sure there wasnt a bounty and my follower got blamed for the lady's death.

I found that if you stab her from behind and then fast travel to the Sanctuary before the bounty is placed, you don't get the 1500 gold bonus from Astrid.
I actually had to sprint all the way out of the city and into the river by the Haafinger Stormcloak Camp before the guards stopped pursuing me, so I could fast travel.

BTW when u get captured into the shack if u don't want to join dark brotherhood then u can kill Astrid and talk to a guard and he will give u a quest to go to someone and he tells u to kill the whole of darkbrother hood

that dragon head is a throwback to the db quest in oblivion where you had to kill a bosmer in bruma with a minutar head behind a false wall

I'm planning on making an Assassin / Necromancer (Partially for obtaining all of the ghost summons, since origionally Necromancers started out as Spirit talkers, summoning souls of the dead and communicating to them.)
Another great video. the last two times I did it I just walked up to her said the storm cloaks send their regards, and killed her but did not get the bonus. or the bow.

ESO you're the best, I already did this quest, but your details in these quest vids are super helpful. But I need help. When I got conjuring 100 but when I spawn a Daedra on top of the college it worked the first time then a dragon attacked. Now it never works again. I want daedric weapons!!!

I have a method, put a spell rune where she goes to when she address the crowd from the balcony, ahead of time.
Shouting her off the balcony is how I did it the very first time I played. I didn't know about the bow on the balcony or the gargoyle though, definitely going to have to try those out.

you can at the end of the dark brotherhodd questline, you are sent to kill him, but because i had the spectral assasin with me,he says that the nightmother wants him alive

I used the fury spell on both Nielsin Shattershield and the bride. Nielsin was killed by her mother and the bride was killed by her husband

What I did in this Quest was brutal with my Argonian. I killed not only the bride but her mother and her husband and the husband family leaving only the son alive.

I have been watching for a long time
If you have the Poisoned Perk from the Pickpocket tree, slip a Frenzy poison into the groom's pockets while they're up on the balcony, and he'll kill her for you. Or into her's, she'll become hostile, and he'll kill her. If you don't get caught pickpocketing, no bounty for this what so ever, and it counts for the bonus.
Or if you're a werewolf or Vampire Lord, transform into your alt form somewhere out of sight, preferably up on the roof. Then jump down at her and maul her. If you don't get seen transforming, it still counts for the bonus, and no bounty.
Lastly, an addition to casting frenzy on her, charge the Invisibility spell in your off hand as you charge the Frenzy spell. Let them loose at the same time. You'll turn invisible just before it hits, and so won't be seen. Especially if you have Quiet Casting, which if you're using magic in the Dark Brotherhood, you should have.
All of these will get you the bonus, and no bounty.
I love the prowlers profit ability for the thieves guild it helps make tons of money.

Multi Player Why did you not find it in the first place?? Members of the Dark Brotherhood literally tell you to go to the exact spot where the items are if you wanna take her out from range!
Multi Player Anyway. That area is alway accessible, and you can always go back and pick the items up

Antonio Rodriguez it kind of depends on the rest of your character build and a bunch of other reasons. BUT if it's working good for you keep at it.
Antonio Rodriguez Illusion magic is worth it for assassins. You get spells that make you invincible, walk silently and manipulate your enemies. If you want a good way to level up illusion, get the spell that muffles your walking and cast it over and over again.

I wouldn't really say that the Spectral Assassin is a secret since it's a quest reward from a mandatory quest in the DB Questline.
Girbot119 Neither is the bow. It's in the exact spot that members of the Dark Brotherhood tell you to go to if you want to kill her from range

I got the bow on my own by trying to get a better shot and I entered the door and came up on the balcony-type thing with a bunch of arrows. I then killed the Emperor's cousin
Assassinsnature There is no reason you wouldn't find the bow if you want to kill her from range, the Dark Brotherhood members specifically tell you to go to that exact spot if you want to snipe her, and inform you that there is a 'present' waiting at that spot
