If the Bow of Shadows assassin isn’t appearing it’s because he’s cloaked by the bow. You get detect life during that quest, so use that and you’ll be able to see him and hit him.
in order to get hhe assassin to appear you need to have started the main quest gone through bleak falls barrow killed the dragon at the whiterun watchtower and thus named thane of whiterun and the new quest to go see the greybeards should have triggered. this point you can trigger the bow of shadows quest from the steward and the assassin will be there for you to fight. the only reason he won't turn up is because the quest is looking for a specific quest in the main quest to be completed
I haven't had an issue with the assassins showing up but I have had an issue with the end of quest not triggering to acknowledge that I killed the assassin and got the bow thus leaving it uncompleted .
A little note about Bloodthirst: It only has 17 charges before it runs out. Meaning that you can fill it with a Lesser soul easily, but you have to refill it constantly. For comparison, Chillrend has 41 charges, Dawnbreaker has 300, Dragonbane has 35, and Goldbrand has 60.

I'd like to say something about Stendarr's hammer: While I hate the weight it does make sense from a lore perspective. This thing is the hammer of a literal God, the Dragonborn in Canon is a Demigod, explaining why we're able to lift the damn thing at all. A Single mortal wouldn't be able to touch the thing, let alone wield it. So while the weight makes it practically useless in gameplay, it makes sense all things considered.
Hmm I dunno if divinity has much to do with it at all. The quest objective for the assassin says that he will attempt the assassination when the Jarl isn’t busy with other matters. For instance, he was busy trying to tell me about talking to the court wizard. I took care of that, then I walked outside, walked back inside, and he was there in his usual spot. It’s not a bugged quest. Just work with it a little and you’ll get him to show.
Also with Fishing you can fish up Ancient Nord Daggers and Honed Ancient Nord Daggers. It took me forever to get two regular and one honed. I wanted two regular for the nord hero dagger from the companions. Also Daggers do not spawn on Draugr or Skeletons because they are not scripted to carry daggers but, you can pick up Ancient Nord Maces and Ancient Nord Warhammers and their honed Variants.
For the bow of shadows quest he’s just using the bow so he is there, he’s just invisible. He’s in the upper section by the rafters overlooking the jarl
Stendars Hammer could be really great if it absorbed your magic instead of your stamina cuz then you could just do a magic absorption class and it would work really well as a tanking mage hits and using their magic to attack them.
For the bow of shadows quest, I had to use the "detect life" spell (or aura whisper) to see the assassin because the mfkr was invisible thanks to his bow. I have the bow now😈
When attempting to kill the assassin the best way to do it is when you come from around the corner and spot him just stop there crouch pull out your bow and shoot under the marker after the first or second he will start to walk towards you to find you making it easier to hit him again it only took me 3 shots might be more for you use poisons if you can
15:26 the Headman’s Cleaver can’t be enchanted because it already is, in the code the weapon has a possibility “op” (according to most UA-camrs) stamina draining enchantment of which is unlimited
Getting the Ruin's Edge bow before you do the Careless Curation quest will glitch the quest and cause the curate to not be in Stony Creek cave after you get there from Kagrenzel.....just FYI. So if you want the bow AND to complete the other quest, don;t go to Stony Creek cave before the Careless Curation quest. I did and now that quest is hosed.
Just as a tip I've noticed if you have the open city's mod and a creation club quest is in a major city it will glitch out and it won't work I had this problem with the cowl of the grey fox quest line
With the Bow of Shadows quest when you are going after the assassin load up on paralysis potions. He is susceptible to paralysis do that you can reduce his health down quickly.
The heads man cleaver is one of the best weapons, what are you talking about, if you upgrade it, it does a fucking insane amount of damage, it can usually 2 or 3 shot almost every enemy except the big ones
The sword of Jyggalag (I know I spelt that wrong) is actually one of two potential rewards you can get from the quest. Sometime along the quest you can find a Sheogorath shaped amber. After finding the sword you’ll get a letter from some lady underneath the arch of Solitude. She says you have an item she needs to go back home but doesn’t specify. You have the option of giving her the sword or the amber. She’ll give you her helmet regardless, which gives stamina, and disappears. Give her the amber you keep the sword, but give her the sword and take the Sheogorath amber to the atronach forge. Using the amber plus a couple other ingredients and you get a spell book to summon that lady. Doesn’t cost a lot of magic and she’s relatively useful. Just thought I’d drop this here in case you missed it.
Are you serious? That's bad ass! There's a surprising amount of small details in a number of these quests that I really appreciate, say what you will but I love all the new things that were added
Shadowrend the blade you took from your copy in shivering isles. It was beautiful like a smooth dragon glass and took a wrapping 30 health in oblivion. It just look garbage here lol
Easiest way to get soul stealer arrows(produces a filled soul gem on body after kill) is to simply go to the college of winter hold and head up to the Arcanium(Library) on the desk you will find a note and spell book for the telekinesis arrows. Interacting with the note/spellbook will trigger the FULL "Arcane Archer pack" to spawn into your game and now the Fletcher in solitude will consistently carry the Soul Steal Arrows. Every humanoid npc you kill with these Arrows will have a black(Grand) soul gem on their corpse when looted.
I may be completely stupid or missing.the point but while getting the Insulated dragonplate armor there was a false armored Khajiit called The Rat and he carried a special named falmer axe called Namira's Itch, again, not sure if you count this as a "new weapon" but just thought I'd say it.
You can get the cleaver of st helms by just recruiting vesparth the toe as a follower later on and taking it from her inventory via the dialogue option.
for the assasin to appear you need to have no quests that require the jarl or any of his studerds and if you complete them you have to to go in and out of building to reload it and they will appear
I've heard that Truthflame is good because it does not require you to recharge it. Its enchantment is _infinite,_ meaning you don't need to recharge it with Soul Gems.
Best part about the crossbows of other types is that now there's no reason to do the awful radiant dawnguard quests which normally had you go through NINE random dwarven dungeons to get the enhanced dwemer crossbow
I love bows. I have always used bows in Elder Scrolls and Guild Wars. I don't like getting up close and personal. I hate the idea of cleaning bloody armor and weapons. Plus if you try to trade in bloody armor the traders give you less gold.
I don't use telekinesis arrows, if I would it would be for the gimmick, but I just beat the ebony warrior in Riften. Spotted him, climbed up a balcony, stealth archered him with my 2k Zephyr bow. Fled the city because murder, but quest complete. Meh. If I came across this video earlier, I would have loved to throw in some telekinesis arrows.
The Assassin for Shadow Bow won't show up whilst the Jarl is engaged in another quest, ie. Before the Storm, Door of Whisperers and the Whiterun segment of the Civil War
The T in Tsun is silent. Similar words such as Tsuga (the genus for the Hemlock tree) was always taught to me with a silent T. There is a pronunciation key on the web that also has it as a silent T.
Should have made Madness crossbows. I wanted to switch to crossbow until I found out that the only regular bow the daedric crossbow doesn't outclass is the Madness bow.
Someone taking stendar's hammer over him just cant be up for sure. one hit of a 100kg solid hammer over him he wont be good even with the shield. that weapon legendary made is the weapon of massive destruction for sure. amazing
Note about the weapons you get from the armory in ashfalls tear. You do not need to go the disguise direction to get all of the weapons. I killed everyone and came back to there being a few more cult members and some ash zombies, then I checked the armory and it opened up to let me do the puzzle
I wanna finish this video and I know you don't control this but I've got 6 I think now double ad breaks and yeah I'm done.great video tho ,will finish later, love all the work you do for the community
Nice job laying this all out. I did find your comment on particularly long dungeon crawls target comical. I don't know about you, but I love a long dungeon as long as it has different challenges and not just more of the same. But this is Skyrim, so I don't expect anything too creative. 😏
I don't think that the assassin not appearing is a bug, I believe it was scripted to where he only appears when the jarl is sitting in his chair after you kill the first dragon and I believe disappears again once you do the siege for whiterun and appears again after that
@@solfireblaze9292 i believe it has something to do with the alternate start mod. for what ever reason that mod appears to stop the assassin spawning, no matter where the jarl is or what quests you have done.
I dont know if you have checked the war staves. they have elemental damage i think 3 if them. i have seen one that works like the flames effec, dont know if there are more pwoerful. they should be at least more powerful and with 3 elements like the new spells, because an enchanted smithed sword just puts an expert of one only element to a corner. 3 elements must have to work on higher levels.
Hey man, I love your content. I think you will grow quickly if you continue to make such great videos. Definitely underappreciated channel at the moment. I just subbed. Cheers bro
I felt like an NPC with that assassin for the bow of shadows i thought he just didnt spawn but then after like 3 real life games i realized he was just chilling there invisible xD
with the assassin but, the glitch that he isnt appearing is because you have to start the freaking main quest enough until the jarl doesnt want to initate a conversation with you If you are on the balcony and you can see the Jarl looking at you becuase you havnt told him about Riverwood or you havnt gotten the stone/killed the dragon, the assassin will not appear. I had to do this in order for the assassin to appear and thats how i figured out how to fix the lil glitch. He appeared after i murdered the dragon
For the bow of shadows assassin, it indicates the Jarl can't be occupied. For me this meant that I had to talk to the Jarl about using dragonsreach to trap a drag and extinguish all of that dialogue. Note I did not have to actually complete that quest and trap the dragon or even call it yet as right after he agreed I then was able to see the assassin and take him down. I took this to mean that you can't have any outstanding business / quests with the Jarl at the time rather than him actually not talking to anyone or sitting in the throne.
If the assassin isn’t there at all see if you have any quest to talk to the jarl. He wasn’t there for me before and I had to talk to him then the assassin was there
Gawd... I couldn't figure out why your voice sounded familiar until I saw you did Ark Survival Evolved videos. Really big on both games :D so this made me smile and subscribe.
Anyone else have this problem? I put Cyrus' saber on a weapon plaque and it was fine. I decided I wanted it somewhere else but have not been able to get it to properly interact with a weapon plaque again. Now it's just glitched through the wall at bloodchill manor and is lost to the void 😢

If you play this on the Nintendo Switch, you could combine those elemental arrows with Link's gear. I dare someone to do the Legend of Zelda Challenge. Edit: 4:40 The Dawnstar Questline
That's funny that yall think the bow of shadows quest (the quest where you get the bow that makes you invisible) is bugged because the assassin using the bow is invisible. lol.
the bow of shadows quest isn't bugged. the assassin won't turn up if you haven't completed a certain amount of the main questline to be sure of him appearing everytime you should make sure that you kill the first dragon at the whiterun watchtower and have been named as thane of whiterun and then do the quest
Im the thane now, and i just bought the anniversary edition, but the stewart doesnt show the dialoge for me to be able to start the in the shadows quest.
Doesn't stendars hammer have a stupid amount of Critical damage? If I remember it something like 100 or something. You run that in ordinator and holy crud that'll do some damage.
I just recently bought Skyrim anniversary edition and just right after I did I came across the fire arrow’s and I didn’t realize it was part off it and thought I had mod’s enabled🤣🤣LMFAO
If the Bow of Shadows assassin isn’t appearing it’s because he’s cloaked by the bow. You get detect life during that quest, so use that and you’ll be able to see him and hit him.
It also doesn’t appear during the dragon attack on the western watchtower. So you have to complete that first or do it before.
The Aura Whisper shout works too
in order to get hhe assassin to appear you need to have started the main quest gone through bleak falls barrow killed the dragon at the whiterun watchtower and thus named thane of whiterun and the new quest to go see the greybeards should have triggered. this point you can trigger the bow of shadows quest from the steward and the assassin will be there for you to fight. the only reason he won't turn up is because the quest is looking for a specific quest in the main quest to be completed

I wanted two regular for the nord hero dagger from the companions. Also Daggers do not spawn on Draugr or Skeletons because they are not scripted to carry daggers but, you can pick up Ancient Nord Maces and Ancient Nord Warhammers and their honed Variants.
If anyone already found these daggers and has an easier method please let me know.
Jade you missed the Blackwater blade before going to the pirate ship, to me the most beautiful blade.
How do you play hundreds of hours of Skyrim and then pronounce “Jarl” incorrectly
Jarl in a jar
The assassins isn’t bugged he is using the bows enchantment which makes him invisible. Use the Aura Whisper shout or detect life to see him
Nope turns out his just not there if certain quests are active to do with the jarl
The goblin totem staff can also be bought from the khajiit caravans. I've already got 2 at level 20:)
Where at
Just as a tip I've noticed if you have the open city's mod and a creation club quest is in a major city it will glitch out and it won't work I had this problem with the cowl of the grey fox quest line
The crusaders armor set will have you repeat it's quest every time you kill someone/thing while wearing it.
Wish the pop up quests were still there for cc items
Shadowrend is useful if your a mage with a warrior follower, you let your follower attack first then boom less magic resistance on your enemies
Personal favorite of mine is Torment. I like how it has longest reach of the 1h weapons, lets you keep your opponents at blades reach...
The Assassin for Shadow Bow won't show up whilst the Jarl is engaged in another quest, ie. Before the Storm, Door of Whisperers and the Whiterun segment of the Civil War
Any weapon you make once you hit 100 enchanted with the dbl perk will be better then most of these. I just use them to decorate my houses
The T in Tsun is silent. Similar words such as Tsuga (the genus for the Hemlock tree) was always taught to me with a silent T. There is a pronunciation key on the web that also has it as a silent T.
Should have made Madness crossbows. I wanted to switch to crossbow until I found out that the only regular bow the daedric crossbow doesn't outclass is the Madness bow.
torment goes great with a deadric armor set, 10/10
Someone taking stendar's hammer over him just cant be up for sure. one hit of a 100kg solid hammer over him he wont be good even with the shield. that weapon legendary made is the weapon of massive destruction for sure. amazing
Ah yes the dawnstar not to be mistaken for the city of dawnguard
Note about the weapons you get from the armory in ashfalls tear. You do not need to go the disguise direction to get all of the weapons. I killed everyone and came back to there being a few more cult members and some ash zombies, then I checked the armory and it opened up to let me do the puzzle
Btw if you're using alternate start you must become thane of whiterun for the assassin to spawn, atleast thats how it was for me and a few friends.
For the bow of shadows, if you are in the quest to ask the jarl if you can capture a dragon there you first have to complete that mission
I don't think that the assassin not appearing is a bug, I believe it was scripted to where he only appears when the jarl is sitting in his chair after you kill the first dragon and I believe disappears again once you do the siege for whiterun and appears again after that
Maybe but pretty sure I hadn't killed the dragon yet as I literally only did it the other day for a recent video
@@Jade-PG maybe some more testing around with the end part of the quest will help with the reasoning on why it's happening
@@solfireblaze9292 i believe it has something to do with the alternate start mod. for what ever reason that mod appears to stop the assassin spawning, no matter where the jarl is or what quests you have done.
The assassin thing: the jarl has to be "unoccupied". The wiki has more info
Cheers bro
I felt like an NPC with that assassin for the bow of shadows
i thought he just didnt spawn but then after like 3 real life games i realized he was just chilling there invisible xD
with the assassin but, the glitch that he isnt appearing is because you have to start the freaking main quest enough until the jarl doesnt want to initate a conversation with you
If you are on the balcony and you can see the Jarl looking at you becuase you havnt told him about Riverwood or you havnt gotten the stone/killed the dragon, the assassin will not appear.
I had to do this in order for the assassin to appear and thats how i figured out how to fix the lil glitch. He appeared after i murdered the dragon
Torment is my favorite sword in all of Skyrim
Shadowrend is great if you have a powerful mage follower. Or if your follower has it and you use magic.
I took this to mean that you can't have any outstanding business / quests with the Jarl at the time rather than him actually not talking to anyone or sitting in the throne.
it just means he cant be sitting on the throne, and you can do the quest waaaay before you trap the dragon
11:52 if you kill the remaining remnant warriors you can get 5 enchanted scimitars and their armor ofc
If the assassin isn’t there at all see if you have any quest to talk to the jarl. He wasn’t there for me before and I had to talk to him then the assassin was there
Wouldn't mind having Lightning arrows on my Current skyrim character 😅
Skyrim is one of the few games I am willing to pay full price for (GT,GTA & now cyberpunk) amazing games.
Thanks I've been looking to expand my collection of daedric and other artifacts.
Bitter Cup quest is a favorite quest because I always get the follower to be my helper at that Plantation spot. 🙂
I just thought of something - using Detect Life could be useful in the fight against Mercer Frey. 💡 Why the heck didn’t I think of that ?
People are saying the assassin will only appear in the keep once you kill your first dragon for the Jarl.
Gawd... I couldn't figure out why your voice sounded familiar until I saw you did Ark Survival Evolved videos. Really big on both games :D so this made me smile and subscribe.
You have to wait until the jarl is doing nothing make sure you don’t have an active quest for the jarl
Dude without these videos it woulda took me 38 playthroughs to find all this content myself
Great video! Been playing since skyrim came out, glad to see so many people still interested in it and making walkthroughs/so on. Maybe I'll try it out!
I actually found bloodthirst just randomly laying on the ground outside triva's watch
The assassin was invisible when I fought him, just saw the arrow but if you look close you can see thier shimmer
Funny story, I've been getting the Goblin Totem Staff without finding the quest for it.
There's a necromancer staff you didn't put in the video, it involves a quest and a home, and a crazy necromancer table thing
Jade PG lad, ur a legend still. Loving the videos, and playing along listening to it. Nice touch with the extra info concerning bugs and alternative routes or ways to play the missions. Keep up the good work 👌👍✌️
If you play this on the Nintendo Switch, you could combine those elemental arrows with Link's gear. I dare someone to do the Legend of Zelda Challenge.
Edit: 4:40 The Dawnstar Questline
sadly the creation content isnt availerble on switch!
That's funny that yall think the bow of shadows quest (the quest where you get the bow that makes you invisible) is bugged because the assassin using the bow is invisible. lol.
trueflame is actually quite good it has an infinite charge and that more than makes up for the damage
the bow of shadows quest isn't bugged. the assassin won't turn up if you haven't completed a certain amount of the main questline to be sure of him appearing everytime you should make sure that you kill the first dragon at the whiterun watchtower and have been named as thane of whiterun and then do the quest
Im the thane now, and i just bought the anniversary edition, but the stewart doesnt show the dialoge for me to be able to start the in the shadows quest.
Having trouble finding bloodthirsty, for some reason the vampire doesn't hold the sword when i kill him
Same
Doesn't stendars hammer have a stupid amount of Critical damage? If I remember it something like 100 or something. You run that in ordinator and holy crud that'll do some damage.
Super helpful video!! Thanks!!
You can also get the remnant armor before hand just by going to the cave with a follower am have them unlock it
For some reason I can’t t upgrade Tsun’s Judgement because I apparently don’t have the correct perk even though I have all of the smithing perks…
I just recently bought Skyrim anniversary edition and just right after I did I came across the fire arrow’s and I didn’t realize it was part off it and thought I had mod’s enabled🤣🤣LMFAO
