Hi Steve & Alex. Another cracking job. It is amazing where tree roots can get. Fixing that pillar which was not part of the job, is sign off someone who cares. Which we all know you two do. Well done Steve & Alex top job have a good weekend 👍
Thanks John boy 🤜🏽🤛🏽🧱👍🏽
I like the reuse of the bricks, they have many years of life left, but with the roots of that tree it could be an ongoing project in the future. 😉

Great job on that wall and it’s pleasing to see old bricks being reused. Don’t make things like they used to. Now I’ve just got to find a way of getting these two guys down here in the midlands to build me a front garden wall after seeing this job.

This video will serve you well in the future, for new business as prospective clients can see how hard working you are, state of site and the finished product. As a bonus it is a video record for your protection, should the neighbor have issues with their wall and try to blame you
Very true pal . We get a lot of work from UA-cam now 😁🧱👍🏽
Hey Guys. You really improved the situation there. Roots are a pain in the......... bob (Weston super Mare)
Thanks Bob , very true 👍🏽🧱

Once again an excellent job well done
Thanks very much 👍🏽🧱
Do you use a different cement mix when doing a wall like this compared to brickwork on a house?
No mate just standard 4 to 1 🧱👍🏽
Two of those exact same trees demolished a non reinforced block retaining wall between my backyard and my neighbors below me. Insurance said no so because it wasn’t sudden and unexpected so I had to fork out a handy £20,000.00 to have a new 2 meter deep engineered wall installed. My company provided the with operator and 2 laborers and 3 skips for 4 days just to dig it out. Otherwise I’d probably paid another £9000. Those bastard trees don’t send a out tap root apparently so everything heads out to wherever the water is.
Jeez , I think the trees days are numbered 🪓🧱👍🏽
Shame you couldn't have got Steve & Alex, they would have probably done it for half that?!
But it does sound like an impressive wall 👍
@@Sean006 😁🧱👍🏽
If the job is finished. Who shovels the topsoil to back fill behind the wall & makes good the lawn?
Yes mate , not us 🧱👍🏽
Loved pillar upgrade like a dentist saving a tooth brilliant stuff.👍👍👍😎😎😎
😆😉🧱👍🏽
Do you not need to tie the leafs together in some way, or not important coz so low?
Tie wires🧱👍🏽

Cheers Andrew they certainly were 👌🏼🧱👍🏽
@@SteveAndAlexBuild I used to know the fellow who owned the Withnell brick and terracotta Co.Jos Langton a lovely bloke ,both him and the brickwork are long gone I have one of his bricks at home .Those bricks could last indefinitely.

I was thinking the same thing. Steve isn't getting any younger. It would be interesting to see Alex take more responsibility & decision making....but I expect Steve will always be in the background with words of wisdom.
They are a cracking team. The workmanship is excellent. Alex has lots of potential.

I struggled for a long time before I got my confidence up 👍🏽👍🏽🧱
@@SteveAndAlexBuild I've long said bricklaying is a confidence job, if you are unsure and apprehensive things tend to go wrong but as you get older and the more experienced you get it becomes easy, just takes time

Apologies Steve/Alex, football kept me away! Another lovely job and reuse of the old bricks that looked superb at the end. Thanks for sharing your work.

Gonna have to get rid of that tree. That root you chopped will regenerate and continue to cause damage. The tree,a yew, is of no particular merit, just a nuisance that has been allowed to get out of control by neglect. any is the Lawyer that has gained much through tree/hedge related litigation. Many are the amount of neighbours that have battled over encroachment of trees into their property. Hack it down, it brings nothing to the party. Many better things to plant up in that garden.
They need to speak to the neighbour 😬🧱👍🏽
@@SteveAndAlexBuild Absolutely. And keep things nice and friendly. Luckily, you have provided evidence as to the problem that tree iis causing. Much as we all love to see trees, a small innicent looking bush planted in a garden can cause huge, very expensive problems way down the line. At least it is only a garden wall and not compromising the actual structure of the house.
