Great job on that wall and it’s pleasing to see old bricks being reused. Don’t make things like they used to. Now I’ve just got to find a way of getting these two guys down here in the midlands to build me a front garden wall after seeing this job.

Two of those exact same trees demolished a non reinforced block retaining wall between my backyard and my neighbors below me. Insurance said no so because it wasn’t sudden and unexpected so I had to fork out a handy £20,000.00 to have a new 2 meter deep engineered wall installed. My company provided the with operator and 2 laborers and 3 skips for 4 days just to dig it out. Otherwise I’d probably paid another £9000. Those bastard trees don’t send a out tap root apparently so everything heads out to wherever the water is.

Gonna have to get rid of that tree. That root you chopped will regenerate and continue to cause damage. The tree,a yew, is of no particular merit, just a nuisance that has been allowed to get out of control by neglect. any is the Lawyer that has gained much through tree/hedge related litigation. Many are the amount of neighbours that have battled over encroachment of trees into their property. Hack it down, it brings nothing to the party. Many better things to plant up in that garden.

@@SteveAndAlexBuild Absolutely. And keep things nice and friendly. Luckily, you have provided evidence as to the problem that tree iis causing. Much as we all love to see trees, a small innicent looking bush planted in a garden can cause huge, very expensive problems way down the line. At least it is only a garden wall and not compromising the actual structure of the house.
