- IN THIS WEEKS VIDEO...
WALL V CAR.. GUESS WHO WON 🤔 DAD IS SOLO ON THIS ONE TO KEEP THE COST DOWN FOR THE ELDERLY CUSTOMER.
THEIR CAR HAS CAUGHT THE WALL AND TORE IT DOWN WHICH DIDN'T TAKE MUCH, ALSO SOME COPINGS HAVE BEEN KNOCKED OFF TO.
I DECIDE TO CLEAN THE OLD BRICKS TO RE BUILD THE WALL BUT THERE IS ALSO A PIER TO ADD ON WHICH THE NEW BRICKS ARE USED FOR.
I CONCRETE A NEW FOOTING WITH SEMI DRY CONCRETE THEN GET ALL THE BRICKWORK DONE.
WHEN IT CAME TO THE COPINGS AND PIER CAP I MIXED UP SOME SBR AND CEMENT AND PAINTED THEM SO THEY WONT COE LOOSE AGAIN.
A VERY SATISFYING DAY WITH GOOD RESULTS.. ENJOY .. I DID 🧱👍🏽

top job as always, we had a car hit our the wall and pillar, the wall won through :D, Victorian bricks plus reinforce concrete in pillar. Their car insurance was awful, had to chase for a pay-out

I would of persuaded the home owner to of replaced the old coping stones for the new ones would of looked a lot better. But a tidy job all the same

A very good repair, but I must agree with you those corners on your pillar reused bricks stand out
. It made a change today another trip to the hospital the pot comes off next week I realy am looking forward to having both hands back again.
I bet Alex made a good start on digging out at your place old friend, look after your hip and take care .

I’ve watched other brickys use a big tub and a paddle in a drill to mix up the mortar saving you getting the big mixer out van on your own Steve 👍🏻

With being a plasterer we use the power whisk most of the time ours will knock up over a barrow load quicker and better muck too very good job steve

It’s SBR and Cement . It helps the copings stick better 🧱🤙🏾👍🏽

From 34:35 on is the worst part and least favorite of any job. I try to clean up incrementally during the production portion of the job , if i don't need a particular piece of equipment any more , I stow it away. Looks like you were not in a terrible amount of hip pain today. 55 minute cleanup, not bad for one guy , good job.

Saturday days mate .unless they pay well I just don't bother hope it was worth the hard work on a day off for you steve .when you think what other trades charge got to be £350 plus materials on all day Saturday some may charge more Steve 👍
We Dont have weekends, we just work around the weather now 😒.

Same but for weekends I now charge Steve and if they don't want it I no longer go .Got to be worth while for you especially at our stage they pay for your experience knowledge etc they get a great job from you so a weekend I charge mate give a go see if they say yes Steve 👍

@jeffsmith2144. As the Nissan U.K. factory is near Sunderland, the locals are called “Mackems”. This comes from the days of the shipbuilding industry on the River Wear. The local saying went something like “We mackem and ye tackem”. Stay safe and well.
