MajorXero has been posting tons of bourbon hunts in Memphis and constantly finding Weller CYPB and Weller 12. It's a bit obsurd what kind of allocations that city gets. He's been to this store recently, probably after you because they had those same Blanton's Gold's sitting there

Dark arts is fantastic, I have the rye finished in amburana, I'm not a huge amburana or rye guy but they do it very well, it isn't over powering at all like alot of ambulance finishes. I also have the red label, it's finished in fleur french oak barrels and it's fantastic. A little pricey but in my opinion it's worth it

The blantons gold Store pick was $128.These bottles are out there if you know where to go and who to talk to. Might not be every day but they are around. Don't pay that secondary. Only time I use secondary is for trade value if I find a bottle I necessarily don't want but can use it to get one I do. Brewzle will be in Charlotte Monday at Southers Spirits. The place I was at today said they will be doing another event in 5 weeks. Would be great content and nice bottles

Funny story, i went golfing yesterday, my friend told me to bring a bottle of bourbon, i had been talking to him about it. Went in to grab a bottle of Old Forester 86, walked out with another bottle of Eagle Rare! He loved it and we almost finished the bottle in 18!! :D
I got a bottle of Kentucky Owl Takumi for 52 dollars, it has a weird mushroom savory thing going on. I like the St. Patricks if you can find it on deep discount. KO Batch 12 Bourbon is also deeply discounted in Cali.
Great store and hunt. Skip the always overpriced Owl. Follow ex-Owl blender Dedman to 2XO. Just picked up my first New Riff SB (108) and looking forward to it this weekend!

Now that you have the bulleit rye, try an old fashioned with 2oz rye, 2-3 large dashes of peychaud's bitters, simple syrup to taste and lemon twist. It's radically different than a bourbon old fashioned, but I much prefer it.
I know nothing on Dark Arts other than it is hyped often and their finishes are a bit heavy kinda like Oak&Eden finishes are heavy with that spire in the bottle. Bulleit 12 is a budget MGP 95/5 rye that makes any other non cast strengths fall short with their price tags. Lastly, I personally did not like Clyde Mays; That one will likely be another Old Fashioned maker for you.

Old Kirk is a must get. I opened my first a few weeks ago. 6 yr 9 months at 125 proof. Very short barrel for the age. Only yielded 125 bottles.
