I have made many wooden flags over the years. I like the distressed look to them. I use dowels to connect the boards together and frame the flag. I also use d hooks for hanging setting them 18 inches apart. from center. Love the way you distress the flag. Good information. Thanks!

I love this build, you do a great job. For what is worth coming from a newbie, I would take the star and trace the outline on the back before you glue it on the front. Then I would drill some countersunk holes and secure that star with screws...or use some longer brad nails if you don't wanna mess with screws. I really enjoyed both this and your American flag builds.

Hey Max! Great video and the rustic look on your flag looks really great. I was just getting ready to make four Texas state flags and I came across your video. So glad I did. Now I know exactly how I want them to look. Just a thought, If your flags are anything like the flags I'm making here in Texas, there is quite a bit of weight to these flags. I noticed the hanging hardware you are using on the back of the flag. I would really suggest a better hanger that is better suited for something that is 50-75 lbs. The hardware on the flag in the video looks like hangers that might be used for a small to medium size wall hanging. Just my observation. Thanks for putting out the video!

Thanks a lot man I really appreciate it!! 🙏🏼 i think you are right, those things are pretty beastly and having some beefier hangers definitely wouldnt be a bad idea. Thank you for the feedback!! I hope the builds go well for you!

    Good video. Very clear.
There's a Dilbert cartoon where the pointy haired boss tells everyone that the company ranked their assests. It turns out the employees are not #1
"So where do we end up" the employees ask.
    Boss: " You're #9"
    Employees "What's number 8?"
    Boss "Carbon paper"

MAX hey brother don’t know if you remember me or not Brian from Tennessee, I was having problems
with my stain process if you remember. It turned out to be the humidity and not having constant climate conditions being the winter here at the time. I just wanted to give you an update man I made one for my Mom and my phone has been ringing off the hook with people and relatives wanting them. Thank you for helping me rule out my issue I was having. I wish I wouldn’t have waited so long to get back to making them. I have a couple of relatives that are school teachers and I’m going to donate a couple of flags to them and the schools they teach at and I come from veteran families on both sides so I take extra pride in making them. Thank you again for the help brother and god bless to you and your family and have a safe and happy 4th of July oh and a cool one out there in Arizona lol

For a long time I had wanted to start UA-cam channel myself and well, what better time than during this pandemic we are going through. a little note; carbon paper does not always make a nice dark line, i have had this problem when making other projects so i used a black pen and just retraced my marks to see them better

    • @MaxF01

I just googled it, i think each piece just has to be twice as long as the height, so if you wanted to do it small you could do each piece at 5” x 10” or 9” x 18”. Then you can base the star on how big your pieces are. Hopefully this helps
