How to make and set the opening picture on the IC-705

Icom’s IC-705 transceiver lets you display a picture on the opening screen when you turn the radio on. It’s yet another way to personalise modern radios. So if you’ve got time on your hands, hand you're feeling creative here’s how to do it. You will need access to a graphics program such as Adobe Photoshop or Microsoft's paint as well as an SD Card for the radio.

I got an "illegal date" message when setting "opening picture". I tried different methods but no results. I do not know why.

Try changing the date attribute on your file. I'm guessing it's a 00 date.
