Tip: If using GiMP, when you export to .bmp make sure to click the advanced export settings and select 24 bit and strip color information. The color is still there when you save. If you don't do those 2 things you will get an error on the IC-705.
from infanview the file in to sd card opening picture ,after this when i put the card inside i go to the menu opening picture and the file there is empty .I have it al right but i try also other resize programm and i get error
@@HamRadioDX Just got a used 705 for a great price. This is a neat feature. However, I found that the IC-705 does not like long file names. I shortened it to DOS standards (no longer than 8 contiguous characters), and then it it went from "no file found" to finding the file and actually working. Just a tip that worked for me. ;-)
I get an error when I make the picture with photoshop and save a kopie as bmp 24 bit.But, when I save the picture in Photoshop as .png, open it in irfranview and save as .bmp it works well.

Did you save it in bitmap format (correct type)
@HamRadioDX the problem was at the name of the file ,it has many characters
When I use only 4 like qsl 1 or qsl 2 is ok no problem at all

Check that the file is in the right folder "OpeningPicture" and that the file is also in the bitmap .bmp format

I had to figure out how to put my callsign on too!
