She could honestly make a potato sack fashion but LAWD she was a vision in that dune dress and the poison ivy-esque green dress you touched on. It’s really inspiring to see her fashion evolve as I’m the same age as her, and I feel like I can relate to her in terms of growing up and becoming more confident in my personal style. I love how she never sticks to one thing! So many ppl have aesthetic brain rot and think they have to stick to one style to look good, but zendaya is proof that you can do so much more and still be your authentic self (of course, we all don’t have our own law to help us out tho😅) She truly is that girl

It's easy to forget that Zendaya(as well as other former Disney stars) were on Disney since they have had a lot of opportunities for so long. I'm sure that because she's playing Ronnie Spector in an upcoming biopic about her, she might incorporate some 1960s aesthetics into her style in a way that Amy Winehouse and Zoey Deschanel did in the 2000s.

10:42 "A lot of poeple don't realize how big a role styling can play in someone's image and status, and how elevating one's style can help them enter more exclusive spaces."
This is such a truthful statement, but one I myself hadn't internalized enough to ever even verbalize it. As an almost 23 year old who's been developing their own style since I was 15, I have noticed that I get some privilege because of the way I dress - especially for an amab genderqueer person with a very androgynous feminine tomboyish style who tends to stand out. The first time this was evident to me was back at the end of 2020 when I was invited to a party (more of a social distanced gathering) literally because some kids my age approached me because they liked my style. Sure it wasn't a "high fashion event" - but I was still invited to an "exclusive space" (in the literal sense of the word) and met my previous sexual partner because of it.
People approach me differently and often respect me and hear my opinions more when I dress up (though I also find it might be simply because I look "different", which can feel patronizing as a queer person) - which is especially helpful for a deeply neurodivergent person who, though sociable, tends to be a bit awkward.
Thank you for acknowledging and verbalizing this for me - the whole video honestly made me very self-aware and helped me reflect on my own style journey (also helped by the fact that I admire Zendaya's carefully curated but candid image - and because my style sensibilities overlap with hers slightly). Amazing work, I will definitely check out more from your channel :)

I think the fact that they did a SLOW maturing of her fashion choices instead of a complete 180 like most Disney girls, really helped people take her more seriously as opposed to thinking “oh she’s just lashing out and rebelling from the Disney image. I think they did it slower but not too slow that people took her more seriously.

I really like this video because compared to other people talking about Zendaya that i've seen here on UA-cam and in real life she doesn't go to the way of slutshaming other Disney girls (that they were little girls and were clearly victims of a loosely controlled environment)to 'flatter' her, It's one of the things I don't like about her fanbase like...ew

Looking back at her journey I am impressed by her intelligence when evolving, but also at the same time, shocked that this isn't more common practice? She did the entire evolution from Disney star to A-list celebrity so gracefully that it makes me wonder why no one else (that I can think of off the top of my head) has done it, she makes it look so easy! The moves are smart but make sense based on the context she was surrounded with, very interesting to compare to other people who tired the same thing and didn't really succeed with the grace she did. (I am mainly thinking of Miley Cirus, but I am sure others have done it too)
