I'm rather with Sori on this one. One example: my grandmother tells she tried to read Bible several times, but never understood a thing. She wears a cross, calls herself Christian and probably does fast. Also, she makes cross-shaped charms and hides them everywhere whenever she believes there is some evil spirit in her apartment. She also uses some Christian prayer-like spells to get more health, money or whatever. She worked as a Soviet engineer her entire career, and she is still very sane. In Russian church you can buy special blessed candles to light them up and address God with your wish. Blessed brochures with those special prayers are also sold there. And much more. Another example: Leskov (writer) has an interesting character living in 19-th century Russian village. He is so Christian, that his neighbors (not only illiterate peasants) describe him as follows: "he has read Bible up to Christ, and even further!!111". This kinda suggests that common folks of not so distant past were not very successful with understanding Bible. I suggest that for a "large" fraction of Christians, there is no awakening or mind discipline, or any ethical growth at all. For them, Christianity is just an advanced animism. Bad spiritual entity makes your husband drink a lot? Buy him an icon and a brochure with a prayer against alcoholism. You may say that Western Christianity is different - yes, but not for common folk who didn't get far into Bible. Their demand for trinkets is met with the supply from independent vendors in US and from monopolist Church in Russia. If we follow Vin's unforgiving attitude here, then we must say that stupidity (mental laziness, okay) is a vice. What, well, Satanists often say.
There are literally Christian stores that sell thing like holy water. And little trinkets that people use to represent them and think hopefully having these will show that they are Christian and god might let them in heaven. Etc etc.

The song, according to an interview with Metallica in the 80s, was written as a direct outcome of the televangelism scandal, where millions were given to two ministers who used it for their own personal gain rather than that of the church
This is why John tells us in 1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
Interesting fact: one the riffs towards the end of the song was apparently written by Dave Mustaine. It was from a song he was writing while in Metallica with the working title "The Hills Ran Red". He was uncredited, but really couldn't prove it.

Least hyped but my absolute favorite. It is the epitome of the classic heavy Metallica sound. The fact that it is a direct jab at those that use The Way as means to obtain power and wealth makes that much more special to me. So many sell themselves to the utterly soulless deception of these people. I have seen it up close and it is disgusting beyond words. If you've ever read anything about Hatfield's early life, you know exactly where this song came from.
Did they even rate this song? The way the conversation went one would think more that they just reviewed Suicidal Tendencies "Send Me Your Money". Also an amazing Song and FACT: more Suicidal Tendencies needs to be reviewed! So then; I cannot believe the Jim Bakker is still active. There are a lot of televangelist that are selling their Miracle Waters and crap. My ex-mother-in-law was terminal. She sent every bit she had to those idiots praying for a cure. She somehow blindly continuously supported those obvious millionaires and they're flashy lifestyles. When we were finally able to fly down to see her again, we found her living in poverty and filth which worsened her condition. We altered our plans and spent months there gutting the house, fixing it up and taking care of her. Sadly she never could see that her health improvements ultimately came from love and happiness. Not greed from false promised miracles.
Dave Mustaine claims he wrote that kind of muddy riff that follows the intro riff of this song that repeats in parts of this song . Sounds like his riffing style .
The apostle Paul said: "You see, we are not like the many hucksters who preach for personal profit. We preach the word of God with sincerity and with Christ's authority, knowing that God is watching us." (2 Corinthians 2:17).

Epica - Kingdom of heaven
Something that you two may produce an interesting reaction to would be Deicide's "Father Baker's"
Paula White is married to keyboardist Jonathan Cain from Journey, Bad English and The Baby's. He wrote the Journey hit Don't Stop Believin. Check out about Paula White's divorce from Pastor Randy White. They pastored together.
Cheers from Denmark
Least hyped but my absolute favorite. It is the epitome of the classic heavy Metallica sound. The fact that it is a direct jab at those that use The Way as means to obtain power and wealth makes that much more special to me. So many sell themselves to the utterly soulless deception of these people. I have seen it up close and it is disgusting beyond words. If you've ever read anything about Hatfield's early life, you know exactly where this song came from.
Repressed anger because of his strict religious upbringing.
You two are the cutest couple ever.
For real.
dear Vin And Sori check the song Death - Philosopher or Infester - To The Depths (In Degradation)
Spiritual Healing
To continue with the subject try Nightwish - Weak Fantasty .... and I still waiting your reaction on Nightwish - Noise
Please MORE DEMON HUNTER!! "This i know" "Ash" or "God Forsaken"
Iron Maiden did a song with the same theme: Holy Smoke. Edit: So did Anthrax - Make Me Laugh
Redemption is why people forgive.
Did they even rate this song?
The way the conversation went one would think more that they just reviewed Suicidal Tendencies "Send Me Your Money". Also an amazing Song and FACT: more Suicidal Tendencies needs to be reviewed!
So then;
I cannot believe the Jim Bakker is still active.
Cliff Burton was the man!!!!
The name Leper Messiah is taken from a lyric in David Bowie's song Ziggy Stardust. You should react to David Bowie again.
I guess time to React Metallica- So what
It's a good cover but the original rips
ANL! Do it right!
The apostle Paul said:
"You see, we are not like the many hucksters who preach for personal profit. We preach the word of God with sincerity and with Christ's authority, knowing that God is watching us." (2 Corinthians 2:17).
Best song on that album.
