I have a Sony STR-DN1040 receiver that the receivers graphics do no not work on, one of the suggestions for fixing the problem is cleaning the unit. And when I say graphics don't work, I'm talking about anything on the receiver that generates on screen graphics, menu systems, volume level, home menu etc. Receiver passes video through just fine.

I have the same unit and couldn't get Home button to work for a long time. Then I found pressing Amp first allows you to use the Home button. Hope this helps!
Can you set up the wi-fi using the avr screen GUI? I can't find the wifi set up in the quick set up menu on the receiver's display.
I don’t think so. That to my knowledge that requires the on screen (tv) gui.
Hello. I have Sony Str Dn1070 avr. The right channel sounds brighter than the left channel. The bass of the left channel is more pronounced. What could be the reason for this difference in sound between channels? If you have information, I would like to get your opinion. Good day. Note: I used google translate.
Hmm im not very experienced, check settings? Problem with the pre amp/power amp.
you have a problem with that one channel that sound different than before.
I'm planing on heating up the whole HDMI controller board on an oven. It could be bad soldering issues caused by some components or maybe the whole digital Mt s assy has to be replaced. I found one on eBay going for 160usd. I will try this if it doesn't work, I think I will have to order it since I'm not ready to invest in new avr. I don't care about dts x or Atmos. I'm ok with dts hd and DD true hd
That’s my suspicion as well, curious to hear if/how it works you! At the time I recorded this, I couldn’t find an available board.
@@radozeman I haven't get time so try this. I will try it soon and see the outcome
I have the same receiver and I'm having exactly the same issue. I can't find any solution for it. It's sad Sony couldn't address this issue
Once I had it setup, I didn’t really notice the issue, setup is fun trying to do it through the front panel. I’m guessing the only fix is to replace the main board. Or I have a place linked in the description that supposedly fixes them.
Where I live, I don't think they have a service there. I live in Ghana.
Try pressing Amp then Home
4:01 thats not that big for a transformer :D
There is a webpage if you plug in network cable and have an DHCP on the network.
Just surf to the IP address...
Right but what can do with that?
@@radozeman Set ip and wifi. Start upgrade if needed...
You need to get the dvd player off of the receiver!
What's wrong with the DVD player on the receiver? That and it is a Blu-ray not a DVD player.
Looks like a dead text generator but without schematics or a ton of experience you're just shooting in the dark
Exactly, and at least when I recorded this video I wasn’t able to find any replacement boards.
It's probably a bad IC on a board.
Most likely yes, but which one and where would you find a replacement?
@@radozeman others think it could be a bad capacitor, which are easier to troubleshoot. Sometimes there is visual evidence, or there'll be a short.
