- A wildfire that erupted this morning just West of Boulder, Colorado has engulfed at least 3000 acres and forced the evacuation of hundreds of people.
According to local officials several hundred people have already been evacuated and numerous structures including homes have burned down to the ground.
Huge plumes of smoke from the massive fire can be seen from as far away as Denver, Colorado. One of the first towns threatened by the flames is the historic gold mining town of of Gold Hill, Colorado just West of Boulder.
This is the best video of the fire I've seen so far. You crushed the local TV stations. Good work.
Thanks for the video. I hope they get it under control. That's the real concern. Not whether or not the media is being restrained.
Excellent coverage, my prayers are with those families.
i remember a year ago me and my boyfriend were wheeling on red cone up near connifer and we found a fire in the trees, we went and reported it but thank god that the weather was calm and the fire fighters found it in time, it only burned about 50 sguare feet. glad it didnt turn into something like four mile.
Excellent reporting!
Great work!
I am praying for my Parents house and for the Firemen's safety. My parents, thank god are safe and packed their RV and are parked in safety in front of my brothers home.
At about 2:00 minutes the homeowner thanks the firefighters who "put their lives and dedicate their careers to saving strangers like us."
That's very nice, but the reality is that the majority of the firefighters who responded that first day were volunteers. They are her neighbors, who volunteer to help their neighbors.
i live
in Boulder and it was scary seeing the canyon fire
@korvelo It's just like the neola fire back in 07. It was very dry, and to add to that, the wind was another major factor of making the fire run. It does not matter if you have airtankers on hand, fire will do what it wants to do. If the fire behavoir changes, so does the tactics on surpressing the wild fire.
nice vid good work
@sloppyart No surprise it was done by a Mac user and iMovie'09 ! Way to go!
Roman, what the heck were you doing up there? were you on a bike ride?
I go to summer camp in this area
You guys are like children (both the bad guy and the good guys). Just knock on wood and hope these people don't lose their lives or homes. I love Boulder and this is sad.
@korvelo I'll just end it here, go on with your rant.

@ jcrash0582 AUTHORIZATION? Excuse me?? But this is a free country. We don't require anyone's authorization, and the Constitution gives the right of travel without restriction. It also prohibits restricting the press "abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press". So thank you, but you cane take your Statist views elsewhere.
