You can do it! There are many ways to do floral design, this is just one approach. Keep practicing and learning and you’ll find the way that’s right for you!
Thank you so much for sharing. Love the video and how you explained everything. Really help me to learn more. I’m doing an arch arrangement with fresh flowers for the first time and this reallyyyy help me! Thanks a lot
I was just sent this video by a friend preparing for their wedding as they really liked it and were asking me if I could construct a similar arch. I am very confident in my craftsman abilities to be able to construct this myself without any additional details from you on the construction... however, I would like to point out that the arch is a heptagon and not a hexagon as it has 7 sides rather than 6 (unless the side along the floor doesn't count I guess).
Ha, You are absolutely right! I purchased the structure off of Facebook marketplace and never really questioned the geometry! Hep or hex, you can put the same type of flowers on it and we can show you how :)
Hello! I am SO thankful for your videos! Do you think I could use the same flower cages that you're using (but not soak them in water) for artificial stems? Or should I continue the search for actual flowers cages with different foam made for artificial stems? Thank you!
So the foam is very brittle when dry and functions much differently. I’d suggest using the specific foam for silk flowers but I don’t have any experience with that foam/medium. Sorry I can’t be more helpful here!
The floral arrangement is fantastic. My only concern is the arch and how much sway it has, with the added weight of flowers it could be a concern. If anybody is interested in this type of arch and wants it to be more sturdy reply to this and I can link some info.
Thank you for a great video! Does the spin technique you are using on the roses reduce the amount of time they stay fresh looking? Just wondering for an arrangement for the house? Thx!! Subscribing now!!🙌🏽
Is this something you could do the night before a wedding? I couldn't see having time to do it the day of, and I wonder if the flowers would hold up. Or could you attach them after the arrangements are already done? Thanks!
This is so beautiful! I just found d your channel and enjoying watching your designs, Question: could you have made each individual arrangement and THEN attach them? I can see the advantage of designing on the frame but was wondering your opinion? I want to add flowers to my bathroom mirror, around one corner so that the flowers kind of make the curve at the top to sort of frame it out. What's you suggestion on how to attach to mirror? Thank you!
You can do that for sure! That’s why we have you place the zip ties first. I usually recommend placing the flowers when the foam is on the arch or piece just because it helps with the design and flow. Happy flowering!
Great video. Thanks for all the details. Are you running your business out of your home? If so, can you do a video on the logistics of it. I am in the midst of doing that but am running into so many hurdles. Thanks.
Hello! So I have a studio and a greenhouse on our property so I work out of there. The logistics for our DIY clients is on our website in our DIY Guide and we are working on a Budding Florist course. What are some Of your biggest hurdles?
This was absolutely perfect! Just the direction that I needed❤
Thank you so much for this amazing video!! I just subscribed :) Could you make these before hand with the zip ties ready to go and attach on site?
Thank you Alison for sharing looks gorgeous ❤
This is absolutely gorgeous. I brought some caged foam boxes, cuz I wanna learn how to do floral design the right way. This video was very helpful.

My concern would be the hydrangeas, how do they hold up in the foam and can the arrangements be made the night before?
Quite creative ❤❤❤
Thank you!

So beautiful
It is GORGEOUS
Thank you!

Yes, I am interested in the weight
I will say the arch I used wasn’t as sturdy as I would have liked. But the small arrangements weren’t too heavy. The middle one was a bit.

I don’t really think so, it just helps the petals relax and the rose look more bloomed.
Wonderful!! Thank you!!
Glad you liked it!
Thank you for sharing, can you please tell the recipe/how many flowers/greens(bunch of each you used)
They are listed in our DIY Flower blog on our website!

I’d say the night before the wedding could be okay!
Can all these wonderful tips also apply to fake flowers?
Yes!

It’s not a hexagon? It has 7 sides
Right, we’ve been corrected but what can we do, the mistake was made 🤷♀️

Lol this bugged me too
Oops. You are correct. Minor details for a larger instructional goal 🤷♀️
