Thank you so much! I have never done this and my friend asked me to do it for her wedding. I used your video and it was a success! She gave me a bucket of roses and 2 bunches of greens. It turned out great!thank you for taking the time to share this!
We are DIY'ing the flowers/arrangements for our wedding and this is seriously the most helpful video I've come across. THANK YOU!

Completed my wedding flowers yesterday and I think they look amazing ALL thanks to you and your step by step video making it easy. My grateful thanks Aussie 63yr old bride Sonja 💕🙏🍾🙏💕
Hi! Did you leave your arbour flowers outside overnight? How did they hold up?
This video was so helpful. Thank you! The arbor for my daughter’s wedding was beautiful because of your guidance! :)
Thanks, Alison! This is just what I needed to see, will be decorating a similar arch next month for my girlfriend's niece's wedding.
Beautiful! And a big help to me because I have to decorate my daughter's arch. Thanks so much!

Love those toffee rose thx for the teaching
Beautiful! Love your teaching and presentation style!
I'm doing my sons wedding, and there is an arch. This was so helpful. Thank you
Thank you so much for your tutorial. You are a really great hands-on skills teacher! I used artificial flowers because we will be at a hotel and have a very short set-up time at the venue, but I was able to use your guidelines for types/shapes of flowers. I created this for my son's wedding. I am really happy with how it turned out.
That's a very good tutorial! Work in bunches of three (but not always) and not all at the same length. Got it.
Thank you so much for your class! Super great!
Loved this video. Very thorough and informative. Thank you so much!

“Girl, it’s a carnation” hahaha I love it!
can brick foams be a good substitute for what u have used?
Thank you! So helpful for us first-timers! What was the second type of greenery you used with the larger leaves? 🙏
Thank you for your tutorial. Is it possible to prepare the flowers and greenery the day before and put it up on the day?
Looking to do this for my wedding, thank you for the video! just wondering if it’s best to do at the venue or if i could make this the day before and transport it to the venue and then put the floral foam cage up? Thanks!
Hi what size foam block did you use?
I am doing an arraignment for April wedding. On the beach. Can I make the Garland at home and attach it when the arch is set up on the beach?
Thank you so much
I love love this now I have a question, if we are also using drapery do we put it up before or after ?
Great question! I typically put it up before and make sure it's where I want it, because when you zip tie the foam cage to the arch it's going to make moving the drapery harder. It may move it a bit but I think it's easier to do it before!
How far in advance can this be done for wedding in April ? Or atleast build out the greenery and add florals day of ?
Bonita mezcla de colores en las flores.
Great videos, it looks gorgeous! How soon before the wedding should you make this? How long can it withstand the outdoors prior to the wedding date?
Excellent video. If we wanted the area to be bigger do you just add another piece of foam near it or would you not recommend that?
Also if you don’t mind answering another quesrion... I’m using greenery such as Italian ruscus and silver dollar eucalyptus on a table with candles how far ahead of time can I put the greenery out? I’m worried it may wilt?!
I would think adding another piece of oasis foam will be fine! Your greenery should be find to put out ahead of time as well!!
Hi! Are your zip ties 12” or 18”?
So beautiful....what about the water in the foam...does it drip out as your put the flowers in? If I’m doing an arbour with fabric on it , won’t it wet the fabric and puddle on the floor?
Yes, it will
where did you get this arch?
Hi where do you get the floral foam cage? And what size do you use?
It is beautiful
@BloomCultureFlowers what is the approximate size of the flower foam cage? Thanks.
Can I arrange the flowers at home and take it on wedding day. I’m concerned it might mess it up if I leave it over night on arch
Is it possible to create the piece the day before and then attach to the arch afterwards? Also how difficult is it to relocate to a second place after wedding ceremony? For example, moving it from arch to a photo backdrop wall?
Thank you!
Depends on a lot of factors, but you probably could! Just beware of some wilting flowers.
So glad you have posted a new post! Thanks Alison. I'm just wondering if you were making this for an afternoon ceremony, would it need to made day of wedding?
You're welcome! So I usually err on the side of caution and try to build the arbors on the day of the ceremony (morning of) but depending on the weather and your access to the venue, you may be able to make the day beforehand and keep it hydrated. But again, i usually suggest day of for optimum freshness!
I can't wait to make this for my daughter's wedding. If I assemble in the morning and the ceremony is at 4pm, do I need to add more water to the foam before ceremony?
Thank you
Hi Can we attach the arrangements to the arbor later?
Do you use any sprays on the final product to keep it fresh?
I do! Sometimes I use Crowning Glory or a finishing spray to help keep it hydrated. I only use it in hot/warm months.
This video is just brilliant, how long will this fresh arbor last. How early can you make them before the wedding?
I’d say no more than 24 hours but I usually make it the day of the event because of the loss of hydration of the foam.
How do you transport the assembled arch? Or should we have it at our venue before we add the florals?
I'm bringing the arbor my dad made to the venue and adding the florals to it after the rehearsal on Friday night!
How long ahead could you make this for an event?
Can I create this the evening before? Or does it need to be day of?
Is there a way to use arrangements that you make for the arch and use it also for a table arrangement also?
Yep! We use zip ties so you can cut the arrangement down and repurpose it if you’d like.
What are the names of all the greenery you used?
Looks great!! How should I go about doing something like this a few days before wedding?
I’d only do it 24 hours in advance to mitigate wilting. You could always do the greenery a day ahead of time and the flowers the day of.
How do you zip tie the other piece
How long before a wedding do you recommend doing this? Would two days before be too early? Is the day before ok? Thanks this video was very helpful
In my experience, I would recommend you do it the day before at the earliest so that your flowers, especially roses, will look fresh and hydrated on the day of your wedding!
How long will this last ? Days or a week ?
When would be a good time to make this? Is the day before the event too soon?
I typically do Arrangements like this the day of but some of our clients have done it the day/evening before. Really depends on a lot of factors such as transport, temperature (if it’s outside), access to the venue.
I love the color toffee (and toffee rose) When I get married those are the colors I will be using.
Do you think that this would look okay if I pieced together the arrangement first then zip tied to the arch? Also, I am using wood flowers and other various artificial flowers, would that work with this concept as well? I'm getting married in 2 months, right now is crunch time for me lol
i would also like to hear your answer to this -great tutorial
That should work just fine!
do you soak the oasis before you put the flowers/branches in?
Yes!
Do you follow the same design with silk flowers? Can't afford the real. Wouldn't have to soak the floral cage correct?
Silk flowers should work the same and you would not have soak the cage!
Hello Allison, I need to know if I’m using artificial flowers. I have the green foam blocks like you. Would I still need to soak the foam blocks?? My grandsons wedding Is July 8th
No they do not need to be wet but these blocks are for fresh flowers and are very brittle when dry and may not be the best/right medium for artificial flowers.
Can we create it a day in advance? Thanks
Can this type of backdrop be used as birthday backdrop or is it symbolic of wedding arrangement. What kind of fresh flower arrangement would you recommend for a simple and minimal white curtain birthday backdrop for an elderly person? Thanks in advance.
It can be used for whatever you want really!
Excelent
This is beautiful l have a question can I pre make my flowers on the oasis cage and then tie the cage to arbor. I will be using artificial flowers to make this thank you for your help
I was wondering the same thing
@@MaryBMD me too
Hiya, how do you cover the oasis tray and cable ties at the back of the arch please? 😁
We typically don’t as no one usually sees the back side. Now if people will see it, I’d put another cage on the back and treat it like we did the front.
How much would you charge for this?
Hello. Can these steps be applied if you are using silk florals as well? These are beautiful!
They certainly can! Make sure you don’t use wet foam (foam specific to being soaked in water for fresh flowers). Use the dry foam and you can glue the stems in place if you’d like!
@@BloomCultureFlowers are silks/some faux greenery *easily* likely to fall out of wet foam if I'm going to supplement a living installment with some silk dramatic blooms? got them b/c I felt we needed them with the fresh flowers available, which was good but not a lot of drama
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
If I wanted to make the arrangement (not real flowers) before zip-tying it to the archway is that possible? Just set the Zip Ties beforehand? Would fake flowers need a cage?
It is possible! the only thing is you'll have to do some re-touching or re-design once it's up on the arch. Designing in place helps with accurate placement and using less flowers.
Does the block need to be soaked if using artificial flowers? Asking for my feonce
@@Char13sBr0ns0n nope!
Why do u put foam in water? Is it only for real flowers?
Correct, wet foam helps fresh flowers hydrate and keeps them from wilting as fast.
Do you have a list of the flowers you used?
we do on our DIY Flower blog!
What is the name of the carnations that you are using?
Marrone Beige
How many stems per flower would an arrangement like this require?
Hey Noelle! Great question, we have the full recipe on our blog! www.bloomcultureflowers.com/diy-flower-blog/2020/3/30/diy-ceremony-arbor
How did you make the little one?
Here is a tutorial for that!
ua-cam.com/video/Srbc3zoqeHU/v-deo.html
@@BloomCultureFlowers thank you!
Can you do the greenery the day before the wedding?
You can!
Great tutorial! How far in advance can this be made, if stored indoors? I'm not sure if that floral foam can keep flowers alive longer than 24 hours?
I’d agree, I don’t think the foam is a great hydration tool for long term florals. I usually make these types of arrangements the day of.
