You're not spamming. I like how you're breaking down each console with a top ten, and have noted some to download myself. I personally only get physical copies of NES games that are nostalgic to me, so these lists are perfect. Thanks guys, and keep up the awesome content.
One thing that becomes abundantly clear from these videos is what an extraordinary treasure trove the Wii U Virtual Console is. I'm inclined to think it was the most underrated feature of an extremely underrated console. Keep up the good work! 👍
@@GamingOffTheGrid I have a contender for ninja gaiden. Ninja Spirit originally on Irem72 PCB in ‘88 and ported to TG16. Ninja spirit like super mario 3 had this amazing vertical scrolling with separate horizontal scrolling. 🔥

Hey my brothers.....im just trying to understand more about the whole eshop closing down for the WII U & the DS....ive looked it up on Google and it says by next year around march correct?....and also this will be my first time planning to get the wii u this coming next week and i can use my Nintendo switch account on the wii u right? So much questions im sorry bros but this video of yours is making me want to start right away and i just need some advice on starting this off:)
Yes you should be able to use your existing Nintendo account with the Wii U. And yes, next March will be see the closure of the Wii U eshop, sadly... (Note: There are some titles on Wii U that you won't find on Switch - such as the first Swords and Soldiers.)
@@fuzzylogic3017 thank you friend......all these years since the release of the Wii U. I never tried the console until last week at my local retro game store and realized that its kinda like the switch...lol....but affordable....im not saying its better then the switch but damn....those prices on the eshop for nes and other Classic titles are a steal:)
Love this series y'all are doing. I almost skipped out on this video thinking Imma pass on NES games but glad I didn't. I think Imma pick up Shadow of the Ninja, Scat, & possibly the Ninja Gaiden games. I already picked up Gargoyle's Quest 2 & Mighty Final Fight a while back.
Some good NES games to grab are duck hunt, wild gunman and hogans alley. Even though they are pretty cheap to grab physically these are the only way to play these light gun games on modern TVs. Thanks again for this detailed video brothers.
I appreciate these even when the eshop is closed. it’s still good for recommendations. It is unfortunate this will be a norm for digital storefronts in the foreseeable future. Would be nice if you could purchase roms directly from the developers or Nintendo to use with wherever you play but it is Nintendo after all.
Great stuff GOTG! Anyone know if you can have multiple hard drives and back ups in the eventual case of hard drive failure? Wondering if Nintendo only allows using the hard drive that is plugged into Wii U always or if games can be stored on drive and then disconnected from system and reconnected to it later to play the games on that drive. Wondering about what is best way to keep my e-store purchases alive without modding the system. Not sure if a video like that makes sense but your input would help keep our e-store purchases going for as long as possible.
Nintendo claims you will be able to download digital purchases for the foreseeable future. I’d be very curious if there are additional ways to back them up though because it’s my understanding that the purchases are tied to the console they were made on.
We haven't figured out how to get the files onto other Wii U's at this point but I'm sure we will. Initially they are tied to the Wii U you download them on and can be redownloaded for now. We were able to backup out old Wii eShop games back in the day but I can't remember how. I'll dig into it at some point. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
Creating an exact disc image of your hard drive should work, but I wouldn't say it's easier than just going the modded route if you don't already know how to make exact copies. if you search Wii U Hacks Guide you'll find a step by step guide that's pretty easy to follow.
Didn't say Gradius style, rather Gradius meets Contra which I feel is fair. Great game and Forgotten Worlds, haven't played it on Genesis but have played it on Capcom Vol 1 on PS2. Very similar for sure. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
Hell ya! We have as well man. Wii U is appreciated by only a few of us but guaranteed somewhere down the line everyone will want one and all of a sudden love it lol. Cheers!

@@GamingOffTheGrid I know I just had to share it with you. Told the wife I wanna sale some of my collection and get it but I don't think that will ever happen
First off: Man, I am super jealous that Wes has a They Live t-shirt. That movie was too much! When I saw the Little Ninja Brothers gameplay it kind of reminded me of Star Tropics a bit including that text box at the bottom! I doubt it plays the same. I cannot stand Clu Clu Land. The only time I got to play it was on the NES Remix (forgot if it was 1 or 2). It’s also nice to know that a game that was from the PAL region is on the eShop. I might give that a try for $5, but not Donkey Kong Jr Math. I mean I turned it down when I saw it in the store back in the day. If I know then what I know now, I’d snap that up quickly. lol
@@GamingOffTheGrid thanks for the sites to check it out. The first one only had that shirt in small but the other had them from extra small to 5X which will work for me (not the 5X, I ain’t that big lol) even though it’s not the same design. I don’t care!
