Powell's work on the Dragons trilogy is breathtaking and you did it justice with this magnificent piece. I especially love how Powell allows many of his themes to flow into one another, creating a cohesive whole which is really enjoyable.
And your excellent playing of this great piece of music it's just thr cherry on top. Great work!
Thank you so much!
Your playing is immaculate Marc! And as a young horn player myself, I truly strive to get as gorgeous of a tone as yours. Would you consider doing more Lotr arrangements, perhaps the coronation scene?
Ooh, that would be great - Lotr is awesome!
Well then...here it is :)

In my concert band, we're learning "This Is Berk"...
The French Horn part is actually hell at speed.
I actually also covered This is Berk 😃 ua-cam.com/video/f5pVoH6cQGw/v-deo.html
How did it end up going? Powell really killed his 12 FRENCH HORNS. Yes 12 French horns were used in the original score.
IM SOBBING PLEASE OMG THIS IS SO GOOOOD
Thanks king, you dropped this👑
This was beautiful, perfectly encapsulating why these scores and movies are so special to so many people. Kudos to you, thanks again for taking the request. I hope we can see more from these movies in the future!
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Bro thank YOU for requesting it in the first place! Song literally goes so hard 😤
John Powell is a literal god, and so are you. Beautiful playing and an absolutely gorgeous score. Cried listening to this.
First time seeing a French Horn player who then learned the trumpet.
It sounds unusual. I like it. Kudos!
Finally, Ive been waiting for you to make a over from the third film. Thank you
This is absolutely incredible! Your arrangement is a masterpiece, and I really enjoy playing along with you :)
Thank you very much !! :)
Ive been seeing your videos for a while and i want to let you know that you are one of my BIGGEST inspirations as a musician its amazing how everytime i see one of your videos i wanna keep going and be better
Every single time I hear this cue, it makes me tear up. This time was no different, and the excellent playing made it even better.
It is such a gorgeous piece !
An absolute delight to play :)
This was absolutely AMAZING. you have no idea how many feelings I get watching your covers... this was so beautiful. amazing. powerful!!! you got the spirit of HTTYD down so well, man!!! please keep covering the soundtracks from the trilogy!! (I'd LOVE to see you do This Is Berk!!). I also would love it if you did "I'm Spider-Man" or "You're that Spider Guy" by Hans Zimmer (or both!! the first one's shorter, the second is longer) from the Amazing Spider-Man 2!! It would be so amazing to see you cover that! it's one of my favorite pieces ever, and the trumpets in those songs are utterly magnificent!!!
YES!!!!!!!!!!
The amount of joy this brought me is crazy 😂
nice to hear you cover this with your immaculate horn playing since I love this movie and found this score to be underrated
Whaou !!! Maîtriser aussi bien la trompette que le cor, j'en reste bouche bée ! C'est magnifique !! Je rêve de maîtriser ces 2 instruments aussi bien que toi ;)
That was amazing ! I love the Dragon trilogy and the OST is wonderful, especially this one... Thank you for the feels 😭💛
Beautifully done, this is my fav track in the HTTYD Trilogy gets me emotional big time😭!
Oh my god, this is my favorite soundtrack from this movie, thank you so much marc!
STUNNING!
Thanks!!
Marc, I recommend you consider doing some cues from the Chicken Run movie. They are heavily brass-driven. For a start, you have cue 1m2 and 5m36. Chris Siddall Music already has cue 1m2 published so you don't need to trouble yourself with the re-arrangement by ear.
Wow Mark, such a stunning, magnificent and breath taking piece. You really hit me (as a 20 year old horn player) right in my heart. Amazing work which resulted in goosebumps and tears of happiness.🙏🏻🥰
Bedankt ! Very glad you enjoyed it 😊
YES, THANK YOU!!!! you actually are posting recently. I looked at other channels and they had stopped uploading to UA-cam because they weren't getting enough views or so. Please don't stop uploading. You are amazing and I've watched you for the past few days and have fallen in love with the French Horn. You do extremely well and keep it up!! Please!
What a beautiful rendition of the sawn song of my childhood 😭 seriously fantastic job, Marc! ❤️
amazing. period.
I'm currently a trumpet player in high school as a sophomore and I hope I will be able to do this one day. I'm close but can't yet hit aN F(Eb)6 yet. One of my favorite pieces for sure and you played it beautifully!
HTTYD is by far my favorite series and you haven't let me down. Well done Marc! Test Drive is still my favorite video of yours.
I love how you were even grooving at 90 ha ha
lovely played! thank you!
Vielen Dank 🙏
Great work on making arrangements! I appreciate a lot your precision on arranging brass parts
The Dragon Warrior from Kung Fu Panda could be a cool one
simply magnificent
I love this so much! Your videos are amazing man! The arrangements are amazing and the music is just so good!
Thanks a ton!
Why this channel havent reach over a 100k?
Cause soundtracks are highly underapreciated.... and very good muscisians especially. I play horn as a hoby and what he gets out of the instrument is amazing and out of this world
Because the target group of horn players is extremely small compared to the target group of "hey look i got a new lipstick so cuuuuute!!!11". :-/
@@aq4009 tell me about it... there is almost nothing in terms of content for us horn players... trumpet, piano, violin and guitar got much more
Ask Mr. Beast, or any other person who's proficient with UA-cam mechanics.
@@aq4009 that's actually a reason. Brass players are just a little niche and UA-cam promote other mainly other types of contents and Communication. But community can do a great work also+
thanks ... it's wonderful
Beautifully done!
any chance of us getting third date or raiders of busy berk? Would love to hear your take on both!
Very nice 😁
Can you make the intro from Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron?? That be so great I'd be chilling on my spine
Sure ! Here it is :)
ua-cam.com/video/3GliVNEYOYI/v-deo.html
Great video! You should play On my own from Les Mis
Marc, I absolutely love your playing and play the French horn myself. Do you have any tips on improving tone?
Thank you Saled ! About improving your tone well I can't really think of any specific tip, I'd say it just naturally improves by practicing/playing your instrument 🙂 If you are passionate and dedicated about it then with time you should eventually find "your sound" ! The instrument itself also plays a role in this of course, some naturally have a warmer tone than others for example. But in the end it really comes down to you, the feelings and intentions you project into in the instrument will define your tone 🙂
@@Marc_Papeghin I really appreciate the time out of your day to respond, it means a lot, happy playing!
I still like one most, but this one sounds great.
Can you do stoick ship please
Do you have any tips for a beginner horn player
Nice 👍
Thanks ✌

My favorite part :)
This sounded amazing! Could you do something from Little Women the Musical?
You spoiled the newest movie! Come onnn, did you she. To put the overlay on the score? Anyway, good playing
I love these scores. Despite the musically don't resemble anyhing Scandinavian in style as all. lol. I mean These are Vikings but more related to Scots I guess lol.
